To estimate the causal effect of breastfeeding on children's cognitive skills as measured at ages 3, 5, 7 and 11.
Improving Students' Skill to Write Islamic Historical Texts Through Dicstom Technique, the Trial Web Shift Design, and Engagement Strategy at Stai Bumi Silampari Lubuklinggau
This study aims to find the ability of third semester students, Prodi PAI (Islamic Religious Education) in writing texts of Islamic history in English. Students are taught 3 ways to write; (1) Dicstom, (2) Web Shift Trial, (3) Engagement, and (4) without technique. This research uses Quasi-experimental design method, and one-way ANOVA. The results showed that there is a difference between the students' ability in writing Islamic history text in English using the 3 ways mentioned above
Study protocol: developing a decision system for inclusive housing: applying a systematic, mixed-method quasi-experimental design
Background Identifying the housing preferences of people with complex disabilities is a much needed, but under-developed area of practice and scholarship. Despite the recognition that housing is a social determinant of health and quality of life, there is an absence of empirical methodologies that can practically and systematically involve consumers in this complex service delivery and housing design market. A rigorous process for making effective and consistent development decisions is needed to ensure resources are used effectively and the needs of consumers with complex disability are properly met. Methods/Design This 3-year project aims to identify how the public and private housing market in Australia can better respond to the needs of people with complex disabilities whilst simultaneously achieving key corporate objectives. First, using the Customer Relationship Management framework, qualitative (Nominal Group Technique) and quantitative (Discrete Choice Experiment) methods will be used to quantify the housing preferences of consumers and their carers. A systematic mixed-method, quasi-experimental design will then be used to quantify the development priorities of other key stakeholders (e.g., architects, developers, Government housing services etc.) in relation to inclusive housing for people with complex disabilities. Stakeholders randomly assigned to Group 1 (experimental group) will participate in a series of focus groups employing Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) methodology. Stakeholders randomly assigned to Group 2 (control group) will participate in focus groups employing existing decision making processes to inclusive housing development (e.g., Risk, Opportunity, Cost, Benefit considerations). Using comparative stakeholder analysis, this research design will enable the AHP methodology (a proposed tool to guide inclusive housing development decisions) to be tested. Discussion It is anticipated that the findings of this study will enable stakeholders to incorporate consumer housing preferences into commercial decisions. Housing designers and developers will benefit from the creation of a parsimonious set of consumer-led housing preferences by which to make informed investments in future housing and contribute to future housing policy. The research design has not been applied in the Australian research context or elsewhere, and will provide a much needed blueprint for market investment to develop viable, consumer directed inclusive housing options for people with complex disability
Applications Research-based Learning Environment Education Course For Writing Scientific
The purpose of this study to explain applications research-based learning in educational environment for scientific writing majors social studies department. This study uses a quasi-experimental design with two groups of experimental classes and control classes. The results showed the significant value of 0.002 t-test (<0.05). This means that there is the influence of research-based learning applications on students\u27 ability to write scientific subjects of environmental education with the study of carrying capacity. Four indicators were biggest increase in the introduction, literature review, methods, and the results and discussion

Benefit of Brown Rice Feeding on Elderly Insomnia
Difficulty falling asleep or insomnia is one of health problems in elderly. Age is one of the risk factor of insomnia. Tryptophan in brown rice can stimulate the formation of serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that causes someone sleeps easily. This research used quasi-experimental design with pretest posttest without control group. Population in this research is 20 elderly persons in Budi Luhur Nursing House unit of Kasihan, Bantul. Result experiment shows that 7 elderly persons have improvement in difficulty falling asleep or insomnia. Improvement of insomnia degree in elderly may be caused by the tryptophan in brown rice. Elderly persons can consume brown rice as alternative food for improving insomnia

Effectiveness of accessibility information on hotels’ websites: a quasi-experimental design
People with disabilities is a large potential tourism market. Research shows, however, information available on lodging facility’s websites is a major barrier for people with mobility disability. Booking hotel rooms online can be a challenge because accessibility information online is not detailed and guests using wheelchairs often have to call the property for more information. To provide a more inclusive lodging environment, the study utilized a quasi-experimental design to test the effectiveness of AccInfo, a set of detailed accessibility information relevant for people with spinal cord injury. Participants’ evaluation of accessibility information, their satisfaction with the hotel\u27s website information, and their intention to book the hotel online were measured. Results suggest that AccInfo was effective in increasing the satisfaction of guests with spinal cord injury with hotel website information and their intention to book the hotel online without having to call the property
An Empirical Analysis of the Welfare Magnet Debate Using the NLSY
This paper examines the extent to which differences in welfare generosity across states leads to interstate migration. Using microdata from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth (NLSY) between 1979 and 1992, we employ a quasi-experimental design that utilizes the categorical eligibility of the welfare system. The pattern of cross-state moves among poor single women with children who are likely to be eligible for benefits is compared to the pattern among other poor households. We find little evidence indicating that welfare-induced migration is a widespread phenomenon.
