Rehearsal: A Configuration Verification Tool for Puppet

Large-scale data centers and cloud computing have turned system configuration into a challenging problem. Several widely-publicized outages have been blamed not on software bugs, but on configuration bugs. To cope, thousands of organizations use system configuration languages to manage their computing infrastructure. Of these, Puppet is the most widely used with thousands of paying customers and many more open-source users. The heart of Puppet is a domain-specific language that describes the state of a system. Puppet already performs some basic static checks, but they only prevent a narrow range of errors. Furthermore, testing is ineffective because many errors are only triggered under specific machine states that are difficult to predict and reproduce. With several examples, we show that a key problem with Puppet is that configurations can be non-deterministic. This paper presents Rehearsal, a verification tool for Puppet configurations. Rehearsal implements a sound, complete, and scalable determinacy analysis for Puppet. To develop it, we (1) present a formal semantics for Puppet, (2) use several analyses to shrink our models to a tractable size, and (3) frame determinism-checking as decidable formulas for an SMT solver. Rehearsal then leverages the determinacy analysis to check other important properties, such as idempotency. What began as a teacher-student relationship between educators Amy Brook Snider and Jodi Kushins has developed into a friendship and working partnership. At first, they did not consider their continuing long-distance connection as intergenerational. They shared experiences and exchanged ideas oblivious to the great difference in their ages. But as online tools, research, and communication emerged as a central focus of Jodi’s life and teaching, they became aware that this development might lead to an intergenerational digital divide between them. In order to explore their different responses to what has been called screen culture, they brought back their puppet alter egos for a presentation-cum-puppet show at the National Art Education Association conference in Chicago in 2016. Pengembangan Kesenian Wayang Golek Virtual Berbasis Komputer Dengan Software Opensource

Human mind changes and modern life influnce traditional art, especially Wayang of Indonesia has begun to rarely performed. Therefore, with the technology and computer resources that can be used to show the art puppet show in this study conducted a virtual puppet design application that uses Augmented Reality. The application is executed using a virtual puppet of digital cameras real-time, also using markers and a computer. Through the camera, a virtual puppet application will identify a marker and then do the loading 3D objects shaped puppet that can allow a user to interact with virtual puppet. User act as a puppeteer who will deliver in accordance with the puppet show puppet show story and also to load the supporting applications to play gamelan and sinden sound like the real puppet show. The method used is waterfall method. And implemented using C programming language, library ARToolkit, Blender, and Lazarus-based opensource. The application has been tested and the results obtained through questionnaires that this application can motivate users to learn the art puppet using this application

Aplikasi Pengenalan Tokoh Wayang Kulit dan Lagu Jawa Interaktif Berbasis Android

Puppet is the art of original culture in Indonesia. But, along the times, people choose modern culture and modern entertainment. In this era, almost people know entertainment, news, games, etc from mobile phone or smartphone. So, from this technology development, mobile phone can use as learning media. Through mobile phone we can learn a lot of knowledge. Not only news or education but from mobile phone we can also learn about puppet and java song. This application have purpose to help the user to learn puppet characters and java song easily, quickly and efficiently. The method of program development use SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) with Waterfall model that phases with needs analysis, design, coding, testing and analysis. This application was made by software Eclipse Juno to construct, database use SQLite, Sqlitebrowser for make database of java song, photoshop for photo editor. The result of the research is an application puppet android with size 12MB, version android min 2.3 (GingerBread) that show 149 characters of leather puppet to give information and knowledge about leather puppet like puppet pictures, names of puppet, family, siblings, characteristics, weapons and the other information about puppet characters. Then, for java song this application can show one song from 11 song type of Macapat with lyric and animation. So, lyric of song can show in one line according to the lyric displayed

Strengthening the value of character through shows shadow puppets

Puppet is not just aesthetically pleasing shape, but has its own value for the Indonesian people in general and the people of Javanese culture in particular containing deep intent is to give a picture of life and living. Puppet is a work of art that has meaning as a language of symbols of life and living a more spiritual rather than outward. One of the alternative media that can be used is through a puppet show that is full of values, moral and character education. This study aimed to describe (1) The values of the characters presented in a puppet show; 2) The process of strengthening the character after watching the puppet show. This study is a qualitative research. The method used ecological literature. The data studied is spoken of data about the shape of the strengthening of puppet and values contained in the shadow puppets. Data were analyzed using interactive, while the validity of the data using triangulation, theory and methods. Based on the results of research and analysis showed: 1) The values conveyed character in a puppet show include the noble values of Pancasila. It proved to still their mutual cooperation activities, meetings, and social activities for students at the school as a successor to the nation that can distinguish between what is good, what is right and what is wrong; 2) The process of strengthening the character through a puppet show can be done through Pancadria that spectacle, the substance of value, symbolizes the values, selection values and attitudes to the integrated embodiment in one time show

Struktur Lakon Panji Reni dalam Pagelaran Wayang Topeng Malangan oleh Ki Soleh Adi Pramono

Abstract Puppet is one of the java being inherited Indonesia culture which must be preserved and be preserved. Puppet show a mask Malangan another type of works of art in which containing a variety of sort of the training and noble values, so that it can be used as conth to live participate in community events. Discussed the theme the research strcture Lakon Panji Reni in show puppet topeng Malangan by Ki Soleh Adi Pramono. Formulation is an issue that is presented (1) how a puppet topeng Malangan the theme Panji Reni the show?,  (3) how about characteristic puppet topeng Malangan?, (3) how about structure Lakon Panji Reni?, (4) what are the values containted in the Lakon Panji Reni?. In line with the objectives of the study, this study uses qualitative descriptive. The object of this study is the structure of the Lakon Panji Reni in the puppet show topeng Malangan. Source of research data from (1) data premiere namely youtube channel Arts and culture that covers the performances of the Lakon Panji Reni wayang topeng Malangan, and (2) secondary data sources are Ki Soleh Adi Pramono as puppeteer in wayang topeng Malangan performance, experts/artists, history books, and articles. This study has the purpose of (1) explain the form of puppet mask Malangan in puppet show Mask, (2) explain the characteristics of puppet topeng Malangan, (3) explain the structure of the Lakon Panji Reni, and (4) explain the values contained in the play Panji Reni. The results of this study are the structure of the Lakon Panji Reni, such as plot, theme, characterization, setting, and mandate in the Lakon Panji Reni in wayang topeng Malangan.
