Assessment in mathematics: A multimedia resource for preservice teachers
It is commonly accepted that teachers teach the way they were taught and that innovation is difficult to achieve. In this project, the theoretical framework of situated cognition or situated learning has been used to design an interactive multimedia resource that allows preservice teachers to become aware of different assessment strategies in mathematics education, and how to apply them. The resource enables users to encounter the authentic use of a range of assessment strategies and to view their interpretations from multiple perspectives which include the teacher's decision-making processes, the child's thinking, expert opinion and written documentation

Lessons and new directions for extended cognition from social and personality psychology
This paper aims to expand the range of empirical work
relevant to the extended cognition debates. First, I trace the
historical development of the person-situation debate in
social and personality psychology and the extended cognition
debate in the philosophy of mind. Next, I highlight some
instructive similarities between the two and consider possible
objections to my comparison. I then argue that the resolution
of the person-situation debate in terms of interactionism
lends support for an analogously interactionist conception
of extended cognition. I argue that this interactionism might
necessitate a shift away from the dominant agent-artifact
paradigm toward an agent–agent paradigm. If this is right,
then social and personality psychology—the discipline(s) that
developed from the person-situation debate—opens a whole
new range of empirical considerations for extended cognition
theorists which align with Clark & Chalmers original vision of
agents themselves as spread into the world
Planning and evaluation parameters for offshore complexes
Issues are presented for consideration in the planning and design of offshore artificial complexes. The construction of such complexes, their social, economic, and ecological impacts, and the legal-political-institutional environments within which their development could occur, are discussed. Planning, design, and construction of near-shore complexes located off the Mid-Atlantic coast of the United States is emphasized
Considerations for Computer Ownership Policies
The introduction of Internet technology is changing the way people communicate, work and live. In business environments, individuals are using electronic networks instead of the traditional methods to accomplish their goals. Furthermore, as more industries implement new applications of technology, the pressure on employees and consumers to acquire new skills increases. The result is an urgent need for higher learning institutions to adopt computer and technology protocols that leverage network resources to deliver on demand services. As an option, institutions are turning to the capabilities of wireless technology to create wireless network campuses. Although it appears to be an ideal solution, both the challenges and the opportunities require careful consideration
