On asymptotically good ramp secret sharing schemes
Asymptotically good sequences of linear ramp secret sharing schemes have been
intensively studied by Cramer et al. in terms of sequences of pairs of nested
algebraic geometric codes. In those works the focus is on full privacy and full
reconstruction. In this paper we analyze additional parameters describing the
asymptotic behavior of partial information leakage and possibly also partial
reconstruction giving a more complete picture of the access structure for
sequences of linear ramp secret sharing schemes. Our study involves a detailed
treatment of the (relative) generalized Hamming weights of the considered
codes
A new method for constructing small-bias spaces from Hermitian codes
We propose a new method for constructing small-bias spaces through a
combination of Hermitian codes. For a class of parameters our multisets are
much faster to construct than what can be achieved by use of the traditional
algebraic geometric code construction. So, if speed is important, our
construction is competitive with all other known constructions in that region.
And if speed is not a matter of interest the small-bias spaces of the present
paper still perform better than the ones related to norm-trace codes reported
in [12]
Analysing how constraints impact architectural decision-making
Architectural design projects are characterised by a high number of constraints. Along with planning, energy performance and fire safety regulations, current designers have to face constraining factors related to budget, acoustics, orientation, wind turbulence, accessibility for the disabled, and so forth. These constraints steer the design process implicitly and explicitly in certain directions as soon as architectural designers aim at satisfying design briefs. We aim in this article at analysing the impact of such constraints on the design process. At this end, we have studied four design sessions in a particular (student) design use case. In analysing these four sessions, we used linkography as a method, because this appeared to be one of the better options to obtain a more quantitative assessment of the design process. The linkography method was combined with an interview of the student design team, in order to check the correctness of our conclusions
