Artificial intelligence-driven approach to identify and recommend the winner in a tied event in sports surveillance
The proliferation of fractal artificial intelligence (AI)-based decision-making has propelled advances in intelligent computing techniques. Fractal AI-driven decision-making approaches are used to solve a variety of real-world complex problems, especially in uncertain sports surveillance situations. To this end, we present a framework for deciding the winner in a tied sporting event. As a case study, a tied cricket match was investigated, and the issue was addressed with a systematic state-of-the-art approach by considering the team strength in terms of the player score, team score at different intervals, and total team scores (TTSs). The TTSs of teams were compared to recommend the winner. We believe that the proposed idea will help to identify the winner in a tied match, supporting intelligent surveillance systems. In addition, this approach can potentially address many existing issues and future challenges regarding critical decision-making processes in sports. Furthermore, we posit that this work will open new avenues for researchers in fractal AI
Comparison of the Evaluation of Performance Preconditions in Tennis with the Use of Equal and Expertly Judged Criteria Weights
Tennis performance is influenced by various factors, among which physical performance factors play an important role. The aim of the study was an analysis of possibilities of the use of Saatyâs method for assessing the level of performance prerequisites and comparing the results obtained using equal weights and various weights. The research on Czech female players (U12; n = 211) was based on the results of the TENDIAG1 test battery (9 items) and the results were processed by FuzzME software and relevant statistical methods (correlation coefficient r, Student´s t-test, effect size index d). The results of Saaty's method show that the most important athletic performance criteria for tennis coaches are the leg reaction time and the running speed, while the least important are endurance and strength. The evaluation using various criteria weights offers a finer scale for assessing athletesâ performance prerequisites despite the proven high degree of association between the results obtained with equal and various weights and the insignificant difference of mean values. The results have shown possibilities for the use of a fuzzy approach in sports practice and motivate further research towards broadening the structure or the number of evaluation criteria.Tennis performance is influenced by various factors, among which physical performance factors play an important role. A multidisciplinary approach to establish a national strategy for talent identification and athlete development in Trinidad and Tobago
Recognising the importance of sport as a major political and economic tool as well as a lucrative avenue for boosting its international sporting image, the government of Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) has increased its interest in elite sport over the past 20 years. This has ranged from the enactment of policies at the parliamentary level to the establishment of state agencies geared towards promoting and enhancing the delivery of sport. While this has positively impacted the performance of athletes at the Olympics and other international events there exists considerable room for improvement so as to maintain and improve the countryâs competitiveness. This would prove a challenge in the long run given T&Tâs limited available resources. Current research has suggested that investment into stateârun elite sporting structures (NTIDs) can help maximise state resources and reduce costly errors by effectively identifying and developing talent.
Considering the above, the aim of this thesis was to construct an NTID system capable of being successfully introduced in T&T. To achieve this, a multipronged approach involving a mixture of empirical research and secondary data analysis was used. Firstly, a novel anthropometric and physiological testing battery was used to develop reference data and discriminate between junior male cricketers of differing playing abilities. This was followed by a retrospective analysis of the career histories of successful athletes in an effort to identify a suitable development pathway for nurturing future players. Considering that research has suggested that culture has a major impact on the structure of NTIDs, the last study compared the architecture of NTIDs in cultural context.
The results of the above tests were successfully used to generate a hypothetical NTIDs for T&T. It is important to note that this thesis only represented the initial stages of the construction of the NTIDs and further research is required to test its efficacy

A description of Naso verbal art
This dissertation is an analytic description of aspects of Naso speech play and verbal art. It employs intersecting methodologies of language documentation and description, ethnography, and speaker intuitions. Naso is a Chibchan language spoken in Panama by approximately 500 fluent individuals, and its speakers are shifting to primary use of the Spanish language at an accelerated pace. Speech play and verbal art are used by Nasos in ways that index their social identities and relationships with life forms and political structures, as well as how they interpret the vitality of their language and culture.
Linguistic strategies used in speech play and verbal art include cross-linguistically common processes such as high pitch, vowel lengthening, and use of creaky voice and other voice qualities. They also include typologically unique strategies such as the distortion of sibilant consonants, vowel lowering, and idiomatic tags which set up humorous frames of interaction, such as one in which interlocutors are addressed in the third person. The more complex strategies of verbal art build from speech play, and include common resources such as anecdotes, myths, and song. The unique genres of Naso verbal art include tjloĚkwo rong âprofound wordsâ, which formally resemble the parallel poetic couplet difrasismos widespread across the greater geographical region of Mesoamerica.
I show how these specific speech play and verbal art strategies are employed in social exercises of the imagination and creativity surrounding two themes of Naso lifeË recreation, and nostalgia. Analysis of specific texts in context reveals that Naso speakers index their complex identities, including their indigeneity, through âprofound wordsâ embedded in nostalgic rumination, and they index their agility, wit, and self-teasing traits in humorous or recreational interactions. The nostalgic function of âprofound wordsâ is analyzed as working through principles of ambiguity and vaguenessâmechanisms which explain cases of verbal art that younger generations identify productively.
This dissertation directly portrays native speaker intuitions of verbal art through quoted monologues that guide the preface of each chapter. Besides being informed by creative Naso individuals as well as prevalent Naso socio-cultural views, the dissertation takes areal-comparative and typological perspectives, demonstrating the theoretical contribution of speech play and verbal art more broadly to linguistics and the humanistic study of society.Linguistic
