    Recent advances on filtering and control for nonlinear stochastic complex systems with incomplete information: A survey

The incomplete information under consideration mainly includes missing measurements, randomly varying sensor delays, signal quantization, sensor saturations, and signal sampling. With such incomplete information, the developments on various filtering and control issues are reviewed in great detail. In particular, the addressed nonlinear stochastic complex systems are so comprehensive that they include conventional nonlinear stochastic systems, different kinds of complex networks, and a large class of sensor networks. The corresponding filtering and control technologies for such nonlinear stochastic complex systems are then discussed. Subsequently, some latest results on the filtering and control problems for the complex systems with incomplete information are given.     Bounded H∞ synchronization and state estimation for discrete time-varying stochastic complex for discrete time-varying stochastic complex networks over a finite horizon

A novel concept of bounded H∞ synchronization is proposed to handle the time-varying nature of the complex networks. Such a concept captures the transient behavior of the time-varying complex network over a finite horizon, where the degree of bounded synchronization is quantified in terms of the H∞-norm. A general sector-like nonlinear function is employed to describe the nonlinearities existing in the network. By utilizing a timevarying real-valued function and the Kronecker product, criteria are established that ensure the bounded H∞ synchronization in terms of a set of recursive linear matrix inequalities (RLMIs), where the RLMIs can be computed recursively by employing available MATLAB toolboxes. The bounded H∞ state estimation problem is then studied for the same complex network, where the purpose is to design a state estimator to estimate the network states through available output measurements such that, over a finite horizon, the dynamics of the estimation error is guaranteed to be bounded with a given disturbance attenuation level. Again, an RLMI approach is developed for the state estimation problem.     Event-based state estimation for a class of complex networks with time-varying delays: A comparison principle approach

    The paper is concerned with the state estimation problem for a class of time-delayed complex networks with event-triggering communication protocol. A novel event generator function, which is dependent not only on the measurement output but also on a predefined positive constant, is proposed with hope to reduce the communication burden. A new concept of exponentially ultimate boundedness is provided to quantify the estimation performance. By means of the comparison principle, some sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee that the estimation error is exponentially ultimately bounded, and then the estimator gains are obtained in terms of the solution of certain matrix inequalities. Furthermore, a rigorous proof is proposed to show that the designed triggering condition is free of the Zeno behavior. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed event-based estimator

    New Global Synchronization Analysis for Complex Networks with Coupling Delay

    Global synchronization analysis for complex networks with coupling delay is investigated. Firstly the constant time delay is analyzed and then the case for time-varying delay is considered. Sufficient conditions for network synchronization are given based on Lyapunov functional, linear matrix inequality, and Kronecker product technique. The unknown variables in the sufficient conditions are fewer than those in the recent reference. Moreover, for the time-varying delay case, we find that the conditions are dependent on the bounds of both time delay and its derivative, and the derivative of the time-varying delay can be any value in the bounds. Finally, numerical examples are given to validate the effectiveness of the obtained results

    New synchronization stability of complex networks with an interval time-varying coupling delay

    In this brief, the problem of synchronization stability analysis for complex dynamical networks with a time-varying coupling delay is studied. The delay considered in this brief is assumed to vary over an interval where the lower and upper bounds are known. By dividing the interval time-varying delay into a constant and a time-varying part and using a delay-partitioning approach, a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional is constructed. Based on this, a new delay-range-dependent criterion is obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed results
