A History and Cultural Resource Site Recordation of Ogden Center and the Home of Truth Cooperative Settlement
The purpose of this project was to complete an intensive level cultural resource inventory of the historic property known as Ogden Center and the Home of Truth Cooperative Settlement (Home of Truth). The goal of an intensive level inventory is to identify, record, and determine the extent and significance of a particular historic property. In order to meet these criteria, the site and associated individual features must be thoroughly documented through description, mapping, and photography. In addition to working with the on the ground, physical characteristics of the site, documentary research must be conducted in order to provide a historic context within which the property may be better understood. An evaluation of the significance of the property at the local, state, and federal levels can the.n be made based upon the sum total of the data collected. Based upon these data a recommendation of eligibility to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) is made
Irregular Turbo Codes in Block-Fading Channels
We study irregular binary turbo codes over non-ergodic block-fading channels.
We first propose an extension of channel multiplexers initially designed for
regular turbo codes. We then show that, using these multiplexers, irregular
turbo codes that exhibit a small decoding threshold over the ergodic
Gaussian-noise channel perform very close to the outage probability on
block-fading channels, from both density evolution and finite-length
perspectives.Comment: to be presented at the IEEE International Symposium on Information

Supporting Play in the Preschool Classroom with Visuals
Early childhood classrooms in the United States look very different today than they did a decade ago. There are a number of reasons why this changing portrait is the case; however, students entering preschool classrooms today are coming to school with less social and academic skills than in the past. Preschool teachers are feeling the pressure to have students “school ready” while also implementing developmentally appropriate practices. After surveying the research around challenges incorporating play in preschool classroom’s today, this school improvement plan suggests how to justify and support play in the preschool classroom using visuals, such as play scripts
