Artificial Intelligence Technique and Wireless Sensor Networks in Energy Management System for Secure Power Optimization

    Get PDF
The modern basic building blocks of a control system consist of data acquisition, dispensation of data by the system operators and the remote control of system devices. However, the physical controls, technical examinations and deductions were originally implemented to aid the process and control of power system design. The complexity of the power system keeps increasing due the technical improvements, diversity and dynamic requirements. Artificial intelligence is the science of automating intelligent activities presently attainable by individuals. Intelligent system techniques may be of excessive benefit in the application of area power system controls. Whereas smart grid can be measured as a modern electric power grid structure for better productivity and dependability via automatic control, excessive power converters, modern communications setup, sensing and metering equipment, and modern energy management techniques established on the optimization of demand, energy and network accessibility, and so on. The enormous depiction of the entire transmission grid, in the perspective of smart grids, is quite unclear; and in Nigeria no studies have been put on ground in order for the existing network to be turn into a smart grid. In this research work emphasis is placed on generation and transmission stations; power optimization using artificial intelligent techniques and wireless sensor networks for power control management system

A FUNCTIONAL SKETCH FOR RESOURCES MANAGEMENT IN COLLABORATIVE SYSTEMS FOR BUSINESS

This paper presents a functional design sketch for the resource management module of a highly scalable collaborative system. Small and medium enterprises require such tools in order to benefit from and develop innovative business ideas and technologies. As computing power is a modern increasing demand and no easy and cheap solutions are defined, especially small companies or emerging business projects abide a more accessible alternative. Our work targets to settle a model for how P2P architecture can be used as infrastructure for a collaborative system that delivers resource access services. We are focused on finding a workable collaborative strategy between peers so that the system offers a cheap, trustable and quality service. Thus, in this phase we are not concerned about solutions for a specific type of task to be executed by peers, but only considering CPU power as resource. This work concerns the resource management module as a part of a larger project in which we aim to build a collaborative system for businesses with important resource demandsresource management, p2p, open-systems, service oriented computing, collaborative systems

Multi objective optimization in charge management of micro grid based multistory carpark

Distributed power supply with the use of renewable energy sources and intelligent energy flow management has undoubtedly become one of the pressing trends in modern power engineering, which also inspired researchers from other fields to contribute to the topic. There are several kinds of micro grid platforms, each facing its own challenges and thus making the problem purely multi objective. In this paper, an evolutionary driven algorithm is applied and evaluated on a real platform represented by a private multistory carpark equipped with photovoltaic solar panels and several battery packs. The algorithm works as a core of an adaptive charge management system based on predicted conditions represented by estimated electric load and production in the future hours. The outcome of the paper is a comparison of the optimized and unoptimized charge management on three different battery setups proving that optimization may often outperform a battery setup with larger capacity in several criteria.Web of Science117art. no. 179

Adaptation of domestic state governance to international governance models

The purpose of the article is to provide the evolving international trends of modern management models and authorial vision of model of state governance system in Ukraine, its subsystems, in particular, the system of provision of administrative services that is appropriate for the contemporary times. Methodology. On the basis of scientific and theoretical approaches to the definitions of terms “state governance” and “public governance”, there was an explanation of considerable difference between them and, taking into consideration, the mentality of Ukrainian society and peculiar weak side in self-organization, the authors offered to form authorial model of governance on the basis of historically traditional for Ukraine model of state governance and to add some elements of management concepts that proved their significance, efficiency and priority in practice. Results. The authors emphasized the following two prevailing modern management models in the international practice: “new state management” and “good governance”. The first concept offered for consideration served as a basis for the semantic content of state activity that reflects more the state of administrative reformation. Practical meaning. A practical introduction of management to the domestic model of governance creates the range of contradictions that do not allow implementing herein concept. Pursuant to authors, the second one allows in considerable measure to reform state governance, considering historically developed peculiarities of this model. Moreover, the involvement of concept herein into introduction of informational and communicational technologies in the process of governance eliminates the necessity of power decentralization, it allows to form real net structure and, at the same, to keep vertical power structure, to involve citizens for formation and taking of management decisions, to form electronic communicational channel of feedback, to provide citizens with electronic administrative services. All indicated advantages of the concept certify about the necessity to reform state governance exactly in this field. Meaning/ Distinction. This article raises a question about the significance of formation and sequence of state policy in Ukraine aimed at creating an information-oriented society, space, as well as informational and technological infrastructure

Power systems automation, communication, and information technologies for smart grid: A technical aspects review

Smart grid (SG) introduced proven power system, based on modernized power delivery system with introduction of advanced data-information and communication technologies (ICT). SGs include improved quality of power transmission/distribution from power generation to end-users with optimized power flow and efficiency. In addition to above modern automation, two-way communications, advanced monitoring, and control to optimize power quality issues are the classic features of SGs. This ensures the efficiency and reliability of all its interconnected power system elements against potential threats and life time cycle. By integrating ICT into the power system SGs improved the working capabilities of the utility companies. Resultant of ICT with SG leads to better management of assets and ensure energy management for end users. This review article presents the different areas of communication and information technology areas involved in SG automation

The management of the electric power process in modern hydroelectric power plants implicate the intense use of the information technology, both for the activities performed in actual time and also for the ones performed outside the actual time. Now, when discussing about the problem concerning the development of hydroelectric potential, in the same time with the optimization of production process, it is necessary to assist the manufacturers decision in choosing those production capacities able to cover the electric power consume which has important variations in time. Concerning the production of electric power, its defining particularity that it can not be deposited, also imposes that the prognosis of electric power to be as precise as possible. Using an advanced informational system instrument for parametric modeling and simulation concerning the electric power can also be made scenarios and prognosis having an error of 3% instead of 5%, in the present, being place at the upper limit ofproduction optimization, parametric modeling, production prognosis, web application
