A maximal covering location problem based optimization of complex processes : a novel computational approach

    Get PDF
This Ph.D. article-based thesis discusses a novel computational approach to the extended Maximal Covering Location Problem (MCLP). We consider a fuzzy-type formulation of the generic MCLP and develop the necessary theoretical and numerical aspects of the proposed Separation Method (SM). A speci_c structure of the originally given MCLP makes it possible to reduce it to two auxiliary Knapsack-type problems. The equivalent separation we propose reduces essentially the complexity of the resulting computational algorithms. This algorithm also incorporates a conventional relaxation technique and the scalarizing method applied to an auxiliary multiobjective optimization problem. The proposed solution methodology is next applied to Supply Chain optimization in the presence of incomplete information. We study two illustrative examples and give a rigorous analysis of the obtained results.Doctor en Modelación y Computación CientíficaDoctorad

Optimization of Location-Routing for the Waste Household Appliances Recycling Logistics under the Uncertain Condition

    Get PDF
Waste household appliances and electronic products usually contain harmful substances which need scientific and reasonable collection, classification, processing, recovery and disposal to achieve sustainable and effective recycling and utilization. In recent years, due to the poor management of waste household appliances recycling logistics system, safety accidents occur frequently, which seriously harm the health and life safety of the society. This paper studies the risk management of recycling waste household appliances under uncertain conditions and establishes a risk measurement model under fuzzy population density. Considering the multi-stage and classification diversity of waste household appliances recycling logistics, the multi-objective location routing model and location - routing model are established respectively. Based on the model complexity analysis, the solution method of multi-objective model is designed. Finally, the validity of the model and algorithm is verified by examples and tests

Dynamic Analysis and Optimization of a Production Control System under Supply and Demand Uncertainties

This study investigates the dynamic performance and optimization of a typical discrete production control system under supply disruption and demand uncertainty. Two different types of uncertain demands, disrupted demand with a step change in demand and random demand, are considered. We find that, under demand disruption, the system’s dynamic performance indicators (the peak values of the order rate, production completion rate, and inventory) increase with the duration of supply disruption; however, they increase and decrease sequentially with the supply disruption start time. This change tendency differs from the finding that each kind of peak is independent of the supply disruption start time under no demand disruption. We also find that, under random demand, the dynamic performance indicators (Bullwhip and variance amplification of inventory relative to demand) increase with the disruption duration, but they have a decreasing tendency as demand variance increases. In order to design an adaptive system, we propose a genetic algorithm that minimizes the respective objective function on the system’s dynamic performance indicators via choosing appropriate system parameters. It is shown that the optimal parameter choices relate closely to the supply disruption start time and duration under disrupted demand and to the supply disruption duration under random demand
