    Achieving Sustainability in Capture Fishing Industry Based on the Regional Characteristics

    The prospect of the fishery sector becomes one of strategic economic activities, in which the government implements fisheries industrialization as a strategy to enhance added values of fishery production. The fishing industry is unique since it exploits fish as the main raw material naturally available and accessible by humans. Moreover, the capture fishing industry is relatively a high cost economy. This study was aimed at designing the regional-based institutional and network models of the fishing industry in order to achieve the sustainable fishing industry in Maluku province. The research employed Soft System Methodology to obtain an ideal model for the management of the sustainable capture fishing industry. Structure identification in designing the institutional model for a supply chain system of the sustainable fishing industry was carried out using the Interpretative Structural Modelling (ISM). Meanwhile, TOPSIS was involved in establishing a model for the fishing industry. The results show the institution that would be developed was a financial institution (cooperative) that would be managed and run by fishermen. The capture fishing industrial network in Maluku province was built by actualizing PPN Ambon as a main server in the route of PPI Masarette PPI Eri PPN Ambon.     Purpose: Sufficient support of the sustainability of farm products embedded in a region (such as Products of Designated Origin / PDOs) to overcome significant obstacles to access domestic and remote markets. Main research question is how to overcome such inherent difficulties and transform them into challenges and opportunities to the new market environment. Design/methodology /approach: Combination of simplicity with the complicated issue of sustainability for awareness of small farmers SMEs and their collective representatives. Improve the understanding of the Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM), to facilitate sustainability through use of the ‘Bellagio Principles’ for assessing sustainability of local farm products and facilitating further enhancement. Use of certain PDOs farm products of the Messinian region of Greece, such as local Sfela Feta cheese, olive oil, olives and raisins, to assess sustainability and improvement. Formation of a conceptual constructive action R&D framework of broader use in building-up and performing implementation of holistic supply chain strategy. Expected Findings: Providing better understanding of the SSCM. Insights on how SMEs co-operatives can collectively apply holistic strategies concerning local farm PDOs to fulfil competitiveness and sustainability requirements, under variant product and market conditions. Originality / Value : Improving the know-how, focusing on the sustainability of regional, traditional products and its effects upon supply chain performance and market access.     Application of Institutional Engineering Economics for Plateau Vegetable Farmers for Tourism Market Access

    The purpose of this study is to model the strengthening of plateau vegetable farmers groups in Bali. One way is to transform group institutions into dynamic, empowered and business-oriented institutions. The study began by interviewing plateau farmer groups in Pancasari Village, Sukasada District of Buleleng and Candikuning Village, Baturiti Regency, Buleleng Regency, and also interviewing hotels as representatives of institutional consumers in the tourism industry. To get conditions that are more comprehensive, in-depth interviews were conducted with key informants. Next, a meeting of experts was followed to get a more comprehensive picture to be able to produce a model of strengthening the group of plateau vegetable farmers to meet the tourism market in Bali. ISM analysis is used in this research to get the driving force and dependence of the elements and sublements that build the modeling.Empirical facts, especially the difficulty of farmer groups to access institutional markets, production projections are not in accordance with institutional market needs, in groups there are no functional organizational structures (production divisions, processing divisions, and marketing divisions), and institutional supply chains that have not been optimally utilized as a reference in strengthening the farmer group expert meeting. As a result of the expert meeting, it was formulated that the establishment of a Socio-agro-enterprise institution would embrace inclusive all groups of vegetable farmers in the plateaus. The Village-owned business entity form is the right choice for new institutions. Village-owned business entity plateau vegetable farmers are the main players in the vegetable business operating in Bali. In running its business, Village-owned business entity carries out a vertical integration strategy that has a vegetable plantation and a packing place. However, to meet institutional consumer market demands beyond existing capacities, it is necessary to implement a vertical coordination strategy with Village-owned business entity partners in the open market, for the procurement of ready-to-sell vegetables or other groups of vegetable growers.Strengthening a group of vegetables oriented to the development of organizational management and strategic marketing and supported by government regulations in fostering market infrastructure ensures an increase in the performance of the vegetable supply chain and tourism market access. Implementation of an effective model of strengthening the plateau vegetable farmers group requires multisectoral synergy to increase innovation support and strengthening programs.     Uncertainty Models in Reverse Supply Chain: A Review

    Reverse logistic has become an important topic for the organization due to growing environmental concern, government regulation, economic value, and sustainable competitiveness. Uncertainty is one of the key factors in the reverse supply chain that must be controlled; thus, the company could optimize the reverse supply chain function. This paper discusses progress in reverse logistic research. A total of 72 published articles were selected, analyzed, categorized and the research gaps were found among them. The study began by analyzed previous research articles in reverse logistic. In this stage, we also collected and reviewed journals discussing about the reverse supply chain. Meanwhile, the result of this stage shows that uncertainty factor has not been reviewed in detail. The most common theme as the background research in reverse logistic is environmental and economic aspect. Uncertainty in Close Loop Supply Chain is the most widely used approach, followed by the usage on reverse logistics, reverse supply chain and reverse Model. The most used approach and method on uncertainty are Mixed Integer Linear Programing, mixed integer nonlinear Programing, Robust Fuzzy Stochastic Programming, and Improved kriging-assisted robust optimization method. Customer demand, total cost, product returns are the most widely researched aspects. This paper may be useful for academicians, researchers and practitioners in learning on reverse logistic and reverse supply chain; therefore, close loop supply chain can be guidance for upcoming researches. Research opportunity based on this research combines total cost, quality return product, truck capacity, delivery route, remanufacturing capacity, and facility location got optimum function in uncertainty. The research method and approach for MINLP, IK-MRO and RSFP provide many opportunities for research. For theme and area in reverse logistic, close loop supply chain is the theme that provides the most research opportunities

    A model and prototype implementation for tracking and tracing agricultural batch products along the food chain

    There is an increasing demand of traceability in the food chain, statutory requirements are growing stricter and there is increasing pressure to develop standardized traceability systems. Each event in the chain, like production of transportation, packing, distribution or processing results in a different product which can have its own information associated within the tracing system. From the raw material to the sale of goods, more and more information needs to be gathered and made available. Supplementary information may also be collected at any step, in order to provide data for analysis and optimization of production practices. Using web-based systems for data processing, storage and transfer makes possible a flexible way of information access, networking and usability. In this paper an architectural proposal is presented and the proposed solution is tested by the implementation of a prototype. The software architecture presented makes use of a series of standards than offer new possibilities in traceability control and management. For testing the prototype, information from precision farming together with the information recorded during the transport and delivery was used. The system enables full traceability and it complies with all existing traceability standards

    Identification of the critical enablers for perishable food supply chain using deterministic assessment models

    Today’s perishable food supply chains must be resilient to handle volatile demands, environmental restrictions, and disruptions in order to meet customers’ requirements. The enablers of the perishable food supply chain have not yet been explored. In this paper, a bibliometric systematic literature review has been conducted to identify the articles related to the perishable food supply chain. Next, with these identified articles, a map is created with bibliographic data using Vosviewer network visualization software, and then the enablers were identified by conducting keyword co-occurrence analysis. Later, a total interpretive structural modeling (TISM) is employed to analyze the interrelationships among enablers and then determine each enabler’s hierarchies, further representing them in a diagraph. Finally, the identified enablers are classified using cross-impact matrix multiplication applied to classification (MICMAC) analysis, and the graph is plotted. The results obtained from the deterministic assessment model provide the critical enablers for the perishable food supply chain.
