On interference among moving sensors and related problems
We show that for any set of points moving along "simple" trajectories
(i.e., each coordinate is described with a polynomial of bounded degree) in
and any parameter , one can select a fixed non-empty
subset of the points of size , such that the Voronoi diagram of
this subset is "balanced" at any given time (i.e., it contains points
per cell). We also show that the bound is near optimal even for
the one dimensional case in which points move linearly in time. As
applications, we show that one can assign communication radii to the sensors of
a network of moving sensors so that at any given time their interference is
. We also show some results in kinetic approximate range
counting and kinetic discrepancy. In order to obtain these results, we extend
well-known results from -net theory to kinetic environments
Estrategias de control topológico para reducir la interferencia en Redes Inalámbricas Multisalto
Las redes inalámbricas presentan características distintivas en cuanto a interferencia, tiempo de vida de batería y pérdida de conectividad en redes móviles. Diversas estrategias se han tratado de proponer ya sea a nivel de la capa MAC, o mediante la reducción de tráfico. El control topológico es una estrategia basada en la teoría de grafos y la geometría computacional que permite obtener un subgrafo que mantenga la conectividad, dado que la comunicación se efectúa por medio de saltos intermedios, y reduzca la interferencia para cada tipo de red. Minimizing interference in ad-hoc networks with bounded communication radius
We consider a topology control problem in which we are given a set of n sensors in ℝ d and we would like to assign a communication radius to each of them. The radii assignment must generate a strongly connected network and have low receiver-based interference (defined as the largest in-degree of the network). We give an algorithm that generates a network with O(logΔ) interference, where Δ is the interference of a uniform-radius network. Since the radius of each sensor only depends on its neighbors, it can be computed in a distributed fashion. Moreover, this construction will never assign communication radius larger than R min to a sensor, where R min is the minimum value needed to obtain strong connectivity. CACIC’15 was the 21thCongress in the CACIC series. It was organized by the School of Technology at the UNNOBA (North-West of Buenos Aires National University) in Junín, Buenos Aires.
The Congress included 13 Workshops with 131 accepted papers, 4 Conferences, 2 invited tutorials, different meetings related with Computer Science Education (Professors, PhD students, Curricula) and an International School with 6 courses.
CACIC 2015 was organized following the traditional Congress format, with 13 Workshops covering a diversity of dimensions of Computer Science Research. Each topic was supervised by a committee of 3-5 chairs of different Universities.
The call for papers attracted a total of 202 submissions. An average of 2.5 review reports werecollected for each paper, for a grand total of 495 review reports that involved about 191 different reviewers.
A total of 131 full papers, involving 404 authors and 75 Universities, were accepted and 24 of them were selected for this book.Red de Universidades con Carreras en Informática (RedUNCI
