    Police Station is one of institution community, has the function to serve the community as a community needs to police. The reality, a few people know where the location of the nearest police station in the city of Pekanbaru Riau and get information from every police station. It take a long time to get the right information, where is the right information about that police station. This study is applying geographic information system that provides information to the police station regarding to location, category of the police station and other information. This system was implemented using Location Based Service (LBS) on android mobile technology with Google Map is used to facilitate the search location, distance of the police station. This application was successfully mapping of police station in Pekanbaru Riau, its help community more easily to find the police station in accordance with wishes category information

    The growing use of Java in Location-based Service provides an opportunity to find solutions for problems and challenges in the rapidly changing telecommunications environment. This paper describes the development of location-based service components using Java technologies. The technologies include J2ME, Servlet, Java Server Pages (JSP) and XML Java Binding Tool. The developed components are the location server simulator, location service application and device client application. This study is crucial for support of BT’s launch of User Location Service on prototype ERICA mobile application platform through supporting the testing and validation of the platform components

    Tegal merupakan salah satu daerah di Jawa Tengah yang memilik banyak objek wisata yang dikelola oleh pemerintah mapun pihak swasta. Tidak sedikit wisatawan Tegal yang merasa bingung dalam memutuskan untuk mengunjungi tempat wisata yang cocok, ini dikarenakan kurangnya  informasi mengenai objek wisata tersebut. Sistem layanan berbasis lokasi atau lebih dikenal dengan Location Based Service (LBS) adalah layanan yang ditawarkan melalui ponsel dengan mempertimbangkan lokasi geografis perangkat tersebut. Karena LBS sangat tergantung pada lokasi pengguna mobile, tujuan utama dari sistem penyedia layanan adalah untuk menentukan di mana pengguna. Sebuah LBS dapat menunjukkan pengguna ke restoran, pom bensin, rumah sakit maupun objek wisata terdekat. Dengan menggunakan LBS maka akan mempermudah wisatawan dalam menentukan tujuan wisata di kota dan kabupaten Tegal berdasarkan lokasi pengguna dengan menggunakan GoogleMaps API V2.     GeoHealth:a location-based service for home healthcare workers

    We describe a map-based location-based service ‘GeoHealth ’ for home healthcare workers who attend patients at home within a large geographical area. Informed by field studies of work activities and interviews with care providers, we have designed a mobile location-based service prototype supporting collaboration through information sharing and distributed electronic patient records. The GeoHealth prototype gives the users live contextual information about patients, coworkers, current and scheduled work activities and alarms adapted to their geographical location. The application is web-based and uses Google Maps, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Web 2.0 technology to provide a lightweight, dynamic and interactive representation of the work domain supporting distributed collaboration, communication and peripheral awareness among nomadic workers. Through a user-based evaluation, we found that the healthcare workers were positive towards the use of location-based services in their work, and that the dynamic and interactive geospatial representation of the work domain provided by GeoHealth supported distributed collaboration, communication and peripheral awareness. We also identified areas for improvements
