Simultaneous detection of the nonlinear restoring and excitation of a forced nonlinear oscillation: an integral approach
We address in this article, how to calculate the restoring characteristic and the excitation of a nonlinear forced oscillating system. Under the assumption that the forced nonlinear oscillator has a periodic solution with period, we constructed a system of linear equations by introducing time-dependent multipliers. The periodicity assumption helps simplify the system of linear equations. The stability and uniqueness are also presented for the inverse problem. Numerical testing is conducted to show the effectiveness of our presented methodology.Peer ReviewedPostprint (author's final draft
Multiangle social network recommendation algorithms and similarity network evaluation
Multiangle social network recommendation algorithms (MSN) and a new assessmentmethod, called similarity network evaluation (SNE), are both proposed. From the viewpoint of six dimensions, the MSN are classified into six algorithms, including user-based algorithmfromresource point (UBR), user-based algorithmfromtag point (UBT), resource-based algorithm fromtag point (RBT), resource-based algorithm from user point (RBU), tag-based algorithm from resource point (TBR), and tag-based algorithm from user point (TBU). Compared with the traditional recall/precision (RP) method, the SNE is more simple, effective, and visualized. The simulation results show that TBR and UBR are the best algorithms, RBU and TBU are the worst ones, and UBT and RBT are in the medium levels
An efficient method for the static deflection analysis of an infinite beam on a nonlinear elastic foundation of one-way spring model
An efficient numerical iterative method is constructed for the static deflection of an infinite beam on a nonlinear elastic foundation. The proposed iterative scheme consists of quasilinear method (QLM) and Green’s function technique. The QLM translates the nonlinear ordinary differential equation into iterative linear ordinary differential equation. The successive iterations of quasilinear form of ordinary differential equation (ODE) show the quadratic convergence if an initial guess is chosen in the neighbourhood of true solution. The Green’s function technique converts the differential operator into an integral operator and the integral operator is approximated by discrete summation which finally gives us an iterative formula for the resulting set of algebraic equations. The numerical validity and efficiency are proved by simulating some nonlinear problems.Peer ReviewedPostprint (published version
Stochastic Optimization: Theory and Applications
As an important branch of applied mathematics, optimization theory, especially stochastic optimization, becomes an important tool for solving multiobjective decision-making problems in random process recently. Many kinds of industrial, biological, engineering, and economic problems can be viewed as stochastic systems, for example, area of communication, gene, signal processing, geography, civil engineering, aerospace, banking, and so forth. Stochastic optimization is suitable to solve the decision-making problems in these stochastic systems
A Note on the Asymptotic Behavior of Parabolic Monge-Ampère Equations on Riemannian Manifolds
We study the asymptotic behavior of the parabolic Monge-Ampère equation in , in , where is a compact complete Riemannian manifold, λ is a positive real parameter, and is a smooth function. We show a meaningful asymptotic result which is more general than those in Huisken, 1997
