Smart Home and Artificial Intelligence as Environment for the Implementation of New Technologies
The technologies of a smart home and artificial intelligence (AI) are now inextricably linked. The perception and consideration of these technologies as a single system will make it possible to significantly simplify the approach to their study, design and implementation. The introduction of AI in managing the infrastructure of a smart home is a process of irreversible close future at the level with personal assistants and autopilots. It is extremely important to standardize, create and follow the typical models of information gathering and device management in a smart home, which should lead in the future to create a data analysis model and decision making through the software implementation of a specialized AI. AI techniques such as multi-agent systems, neural networks, fuzzy logic will form the basis for the functioning of a smart home in the future. The problems of diversity of data and models and the absence of centralized popular team decisions in this area significantly slow down further development. A big problem is a low percentage of open source data and code in the smart home and the AI when the research results are mostly unpublished and difficult to reproduce and implement independently. The proposed ways of finding solutions to models and standards can significantly accelerate the development of specialized AIs to manage a smart home and create an environment for the emergence of native innovative solutions based on analysis of data from sensors collected by monitoring systems of smart home. Particular attention should be paid to the search for resource savings and the profit from surpluses that will push for the development of these technologies and the transition from a level of prospect to technology exchange and the acquisition of benefits. The technologies of a smart home and artificial intelligence (AI) are now inextricably linked. A Review on Biological Inspired Computation in Cryptology
Cryptology is a field that concerned with cryptography and cryptanalysis. Cryptography, which is a key technology in providing a secure transmission of information, is a study of designing strong cryptographic algorithms, while cryptanalysis is a study of breaking the cipher. Recently biological approaches provide inspiration in solving problems from various fields. This paper reviews major works in the application of biological inspired computational (BIC) paradigm in cryptology. The paper focuses on three BIC approaches, namely, genetic algorithm (GA), artificial neural network (ANN) and artificial immune system (AIS). The findings show that the research on applications of biological approaches in cryptology is minimal as compared to other fields. To date only ANN and GA have been used in cryptanalysis and design of cryptographic primitives and protocols. Based on similarities that AIS has with ANN and GA, this paper provides insights for potential application of AIS in cryptology for further research
An Evaluation Schema for the Ethical Use of Autonomous Robotic Systems in Security Applications
We propose a multi-step evaluation schema designed to help procurement agencies and others to examine the ethical dimensions of autonomous systems to be applied in the security sector, including autonomous weapons systems
Fog-enabled Edge Learning for Cognitive Content-Centric Networking in 5G
By caching content at network edges close to the users, the content-centric
networking (CCN) has been considered to enforce efficient content retrieval and
distribution in the fifth generation (5G) networks. Due to the volume,
velocity, and variety of data generated by various 5G users, an urgent and
strategic issue is how to elevate the cognitive ability of the CCN to realize
context-awareness, timely response, and traffic offloading for 5G applications.
In this article, we envision that the fundamental work of designing a cognitive
CCN (C-CCN) for the upcoming 5G is exploiting the fog computing to
associatively learn and control the states of edge devices (such as phones,
vehicles, and base stations) and in-network resources (computing, networking,
and caching). Moreover, we propose a fog-enabled edge learning (FEL) framework
for C-CCN in 5G, which can aggregate the idle computing resources of the
neighbouring edge devices into virtual fogs to afford the heavy delay-sensitive
learning tasks. By leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to jointly
processing sensed environmental data, dealing with the massive content
statistics, and enforcing the mobility control at network edges, the FEL makes
it possible for mobile users to cognitively share their data over the C-CCN in
5G. To validate the feasibility of proposed framework, we design two
FEL-advanced cognitive services for C-CCN in 5G: 1) personalized network
acceleration, 2) enhanced mobility management. Simultaneously, we present the
simulations to show the FEL's efficiency on serving for the mobile users'
delay-sensitive content retrieval and distribution in 5G.Comment: Submitted to IEEE Communications Magzine, under review, Feb. 09, 201

Generating predictions to aid the scientific discovery process
NGLAUBER is a system which models the scientific discovery of qualitative empirical laws. As such, it falls into the category of scientific discovery systems. However, the program can also be viewed as a conceptual clustering system since it forms classes of objects and characterizes these classes. NGLAUBER differs from existing scientific discovery and conceptual clustering systems in a number of ways: It uses an incremental method to group objects into classes; these classes are formed based on the relationships between objects rather than just the attributes of objects; the system describes the relationships between classes rather than simply describing the classes; and most importantly, NGLAUBER proposes experiments by predicting future data. The experiments help the system guide itself through the search for regularities in the data
