AbstractSocial Network Analysis (SNA) has gained importance over the last two decades, both as a research program and toolbox for network analytical applications in various settings. The international conference on Applications of Social Network Analysis (ASNA) brings together network scholars from different interdisciplinary backgrounds and provides a forum to discuss latest research results and new applications. This research is motivated by the development of multimedia technology in various fields. The problems there are still a lot of education in Indonesia using the conventional method that is by listening to the teacher's explanations and using books, the method makes students easily bored. Therefore, was made a learning media by using interactive multimedia technology, so that students are more eager to learn. The purpose of making this learning media is to help students recognize heroes in the island of Java, which was developed with Adobe Flash Professional CS6 and Android Smart phones android. The author uses the method of data collection consists of literature studies, interviews, and distributing questionnaires. This research resulted in an interactive multimedia device that is able to combine text, pictures, audio and animation in one unit smart phones android, so it can support the learning process into a dynamic and interactive learning individual nature. Results of the test system, that a national hero introduction applications in Java has attracted the interest of students' to learn using interactive multimedia

Generic techniques to improve SVC enhancement layer encoding: digest of technical papers

Scalable video coding is an important mechanism to provide different types of end-user devices with different versions of the same encoded bitstream. However, scalable video encoding remains a computationally expensive operation. To decrease the complexity we propose generic techniques. These techniques can also be combined with existing fast mode decision modes. We show that extending these existing techniques yield an average complexity reduction of 87%

Haptic Gdraw: A fun and Easy to Use 3D Haptically Enhanced Sculpting Program

We have developed a simple haptically-enhanced 3D sculpting application which utilizes Hermite spline-based primitives as building blocks to construct more complex solid models. To accomplish this, we have constructed a VR work environment which is intuitive and whose control affordances are made clear through the use of graspable handles. Haptics is used to support handle selection and provide physical constraints on handle movements consistent with their visual affordances. Our goal is to demonstrate how relatively simple haptic force constraints can combine with a visually intuitive and compelling environment to enable a program that is fun and easy to use
