Few records of Microcoryphia exist for the southeastern United States, with named species being reported only from Arkansas, Tennessee, and the mid-Atlantic states, and with an unnamed species being reported from Georgia. Records are here provided from 291 specimens housed in the Mississippi Entomological Museum, including ten new species-level state records. This is also the first published report of the order Microcoryphia from Alabama and Mississippi. Species include the machilids Pedetontoides atlanticus Mendes in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Mississippi, and North Carolina; Pedetontus cf. atlanticus in Kentucky; Pedetontus (Verhoeffilis) gershneri Allen in Arkansas; and Pedetontus (Pedetontus) saltator Wygodzinsky and Schmidt in Mississippi and North Carolina; and the meinertellid Machiloides banksi (Silvestri) in Alabama, Arkansas, Mississippi, and North Carolina

A list of scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccoidea) intercepted in quarantine on imported succulent plants in Korea 2006-2010

A list of scale insects (Hemiptera: Coccoidea) intercepted on imported succulent plants at the plant quarantine of Korea from 2006 to 2010 is provided. A total of 15 species belonging to four families are listed. Of the 15 species that were intercepted, some species are potential pests that could gain entry and establish in Korea through the importation of plant material. Current information on intercepted scale insects is required to alert inspectors at quarantine sites to look carefully at succulent plants to prevent the introduction of an exotic species

A new genus, Treintamilun gen. nov., based on Treintamilun vuelvenlucha sp. nov. is described from Río Pichileufú (Lutetian), Río Negro province, Patagonia, Argentina. The new genus is assigned to Frenguelliidae. The finding of a second genus and third species of Frenguelliidae is noteworthy, contributing to the better knowledge of this little known family and bear out its presence in the Eocene of Patagonia. While the previous species of Frenguelliidae were recorded from the Ypresian (52 Ma) of Laguna del Hunco, the new one comes from the neighbour locality 160 Km far and 48 Ma old. The Frenguelliidae share a nodal furrow reduced, a ScP reaching costal margin very obliquely at nodus, a nodal Cr sub-vertical and subnodus vertical, and one of the groundplan apparent characters of the Epiproctophora, a curved CuP.Fil: Petrulevicius, Julian Fernando.
