On control laws for discrete linear repetitive processes with dynamic boundary conditions
Repetitive processes are characterized by a series of sweeps, termed passes, through a set of dynamics defined over a finite duration known as the pass length. On each pass an output, termed the pass profile, is produced which acts as a forcing function on, and hence contributes to, the dynamics of the next pass profile. This can lead to oscillations in the sequence of pass profiles produced which increase in amplitude in the pass-to-pass direction and cannot be controlled by application of standard control laws. Here we give new results on the design of physically based control laws for so-called discrete linear repetitive processes which arise in applications areas such as iterative learning control

An Order-based Algorithm for Minimum Dominating Set with Application in Graph Mining
Dominating set is a set of vertices of a graph such that all other vertices
have a neighbour in the dominating set. We propose a new order-based randomised
local search (RLS) algorithm to solve minimum dominating set problem in
large graphs. Experimental evaluation is presented for multiple types of
problem instances. These instances include unit disk graphs, which represent a
model of wireless networks, random scale-free networks, as well as samples from
two social networks and real-world graphs studied in network science. Our
experiments indicate that RLS performs better than both a classical greedy
approximation algorithm and two metaheuristic algorithms based on ant colony
optimisation and local search. The order-based algorithm is able to find small
dominating sets for graphs with tens of thousands of vertices. In addition, we
propose a multi-start variant of RLS that is suitable for solving the
minimum weight dominating set problem. The application of RLS in graph
mining is also briefly demonstrated

Oceanimonas doudoroffii ATCC 27123T is an obligately aerobic Gram-negative rod of the class Gammaproteobacteria. It was first isolated from surface seawater off the coast of Oahu, HI, USA, in 1972. The predicted genome size is 3,832,938 bp (G+C content, 60.03%), which contains 3,524 predicted coding sequences
Endoglin Is Essential for the Maintenance of Self-Renewal and Chemoresistance in Renal Cancer Stem Cells.
Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a deadly malignancy due to its tendency to metastasize and resistance to chemotherapy. Stem-like tumor cells often confer these aggressive behaviors. We discovered an endoglin (CD105)-expressing subpopulation in human RCC xenografts and patient samples with a greater capability to form spheres in vitro and tumors in mice at low dilutions than parental cells. Knockdown of CD105 by short hairpin RNA and CRISPR/cas9 reduced stemness markers and sphere-formation ability while accelerating senescence in vitro. Importantly, downregulation of CD105 significantly decreased the tumorigenicity and gemcitabine resistance. This loss of stem-like properties can be rescued by CDA, MYC, or NANOG, and CDA might act as a demethylase maintaining MYC and NANOG. In this study, we showed that Endoglin (CD105) expression not only demarcates a cancer stem cell subpopulation but also confers self-renewal ability and contributes to chemoresistance in RCC
Genome Sequence of the Halophilic Bacterium Kangiella spongicola ATCC BAA-2076T
The Gram-negative genus Kangiella contains a number of halophilic species that display high levels of iso-branched fatty acids. Kangiella spongicola was isolated from a marine sponge, Chondrilla nucula, from the Florida Keys in the United States. A genome assembly of 2,825,399 bp with a 44.31% G+C content was generated from strain A79T (=ATCC BAA-2076T)
