    Get PDF
Organizations often ignore the use information technology infrastructure, Business Intelligence and ERP software to improvise their decision making process due to which organizational agility is suffered. Such organizations fail to make decisions according to the needs of the market that leads to the loss of market share. Based on the contingency theory, conceptual model of this study was developed using the constructs of IT Infrastructure Flexibility, Business Intelligence Use, ERP Assimilation, and Organizational Agility. Survey method was used to collect the data from the managers and executives, who are involved in the key decision making process in any organization. Total 253 out of 265 responses were considered valid and PLS SEM approach was used to test the direct and indirect effects. Results indicate that mediating effect of Business Intelligence Use and ERP Assimilation between IT Infrastructure Flexibility and Organizational Agility has been substantiated. Findings of this study conclude that IT Infrastructure should be improvised, specifically when organization is going to adopt the ERP systems and Business Intelligence to make the timely decisions according to the requirements of the market that ultimately affects the Organizational Agility

The influence of information technology (IT) on organization leadership and performance

Leadership of modern organizations depend upon ever greater levels of information technology (IT) now, such as big data and management & data analytics, a trend which shows no sign of abating now. However, not all modern organizations have benefited from such IT investments, resulting in mixed perceptions on the value of IT. Organizations must be knowledgeable in order to properly utilize IT tools and be able to apply that knowledge to create unique competencies in order to gain sustained advantage from IT investments. Information technology in the modern organizations has been proposed as the mechanism to accomplish the leadership in the concerned industries. Existing empirical research demonstrates that IT may indeed act as a mediator for the effect of leadership on modern organizational outcomes. Yet, this study is not consistent in the conceptualizations of the relationships involved, nor in their definitions and measurement of IT investment spending. Thus, they chase numerous creative and innovative procedures and approaches while adding a substantial role of informational technology in the administration of such practice. This study aims to address these concerns in a organization setting by using structural equation modelling (SEM) to compare the effectiveness of descriptive and normative measures of IT as mediating variables in knowledge-intensive organizations. Implications for research and practice are discussed

Information Technology and Organizational Learning Interplay: A Survey

    Get PDF
The objective of this paper is to provide a systematic review of the evolutionary trends in the research domain of information technology and organizational learning. Having surveyed various journals and key conferences between 2000 and 2018 on the topic, we observe that information technology (IT) has expanded from its general form to various contemporary information systems, e.g. knowledge organization systems, communication and collaborative systems and decision support systems. However, organization learning (OL) now essentially occurs through knowledge management activities, e.g. knowledge acquisition, storing, sharing and application of knowledge. The survey reported here not only validates the interplay of IT and OL but also reveals some important intervening factors between IT and OL, e.g. absorptive capacity, organization culture, user trust, acceptance and satisfaction that work as deterministic elements in the reciprocal relationship of IT and OL. We propose future research to explore interaction between big data analytical systems and organizational learning

Transformational Leadership and IS Extended Use-The Mediating Role of Job Autonomy and Moderating Role of IT Innovativeness

Drawing upon transformational leadership and job characteristics theory, this study develops a research model to examine the impact mechanism of direct supervisor’s leadership behaviors on employees’ extended use of information systems. A field survey was conducted in China and empirical data was collected from 299 employees from both IT and non-IT industries. Structural equation modelling analysis results suggest that transformational leadership is positively associated with employees’ perception of job autonomy, which in turn promote IS extended use. Specifically, IT innovativeness is identified as a significant moderator that strengthens the relationship between transformational leadership and IS extended use. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed in the final section

Transformational Leadership and Digital Creativity: The Mediating Roles of Creative Self-Efficacy and Ambidextrous Learning

Drawing insights from social cognitive theory and organizational learning theory, this study aims to uncover themediating mechanisms between direct manager’s transformational leadership behaviors and employees’ digital creativity in the context of digital technology. We conducted a field survey in China and collected data from 234 employees who utilized digital technologies to support daily work. Structural equation modelling analysis results showed that employees’ creative self-efficacy and two learning activities (exploitation vs. exploration) effectively transmitted the influence of transformational leadership ondigital creativity. Our study not only contributes to the understanding on effective use of digital technologies, but also provides practical insights for managers in the big data era

This paper aims to provide empirical evidence regarding the relationship between the level of integration of ERP systems and the quality of information perceived by managers directly and indirectly. The quality of information is affected by the presence of specific features of information flow, defined as information processing capacity, meeting intensity, and information sharing. This research was conducted by approaching structural equation modeling (SEM) with a test tool using partial least square (PLS). Empirical results show that the level of integration of ERP systems has a positive effect on information flow variables and information flow positively affects the quality of information. Other results also show that the level of integration of ERP systems can positively and indirectly affect the quality of information obtained by managers mediated by the flow of information. Managers can benefit from this research in supporting decision making to achieve the optimal level of integration of ERP systems used to improve the quality of information within the company

This study aims to measure the influence of transformational and transactional leadershipon the teacher innovation capability in one of private school in Tangearng mediated by organizational learning. Data collection was carried out by simple random sampling via electronic to a population of the teachers. The returned and valid questionnaire results were 199 samples. Data processing using SEM method with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study are transformational leadership have positive and significant effect on teacher innovation capability, both directly and through mediating organizational learning. While tansactional leadership has positive and significant effect on teacher innovation capability only through mediating organizational learning. Because, transactional leadership has not significant effect on the teacher innovation capability directly. This novel research is proposing a model to build innovation capability amongteachers through transformational and transactional leadeship with organizational learning as mediation. This research can pave the way to improve teacher readiness in facing the education4.0 er

This study addresses the critical issue of user comprehension and application within the sphere of cloudbased Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, a recurrent challenge exacerbated by the intricate nature of these systems. To bridge the existing gaps in training methodologies, a novel paradigm that synergizes Web 4.0 and Education 4.0 modules with traditional ERP systems is proposed. This innovative framework ushers in a paradigm shift in ERP adoption strategies, promising a marked enhancement in user interaction and efficiency. Rigorous qualitative evaluations, conducted with expert panels and potential end-users, provided robust validation of the framework's transformative potential in the realm of user training for ERP systems. This pioneering approach not only makes a substantial academic contribution by reframing the perception of ERP systems but also holds a significant practical value in ameliorating the user experience with cloud-based ERP systems. In essence, the adoption of a Web 4.0-oriented approach in user training heralds a revolutionary shift in ERP adoption strategies, setting a solid foundation for future explorations in this domain
