    No full text
The Spanish tourism sector is fundamental to sustain the country’s economy. The changes that occur in the economic context reflect on the price of tourist companies’ shares that are listed in the Spanish Stock Exchange. For this reason, it is important to know how tourism affects the economy. The investors of listed tourism companies are able to know how the evolution of shares that they own, or the ones they want to acquire, can be. In this Final Degree Project, it is analysed the concept of tourism because it is important to specify its definition. In addition, it is studied the contribution that the tourism sector brings to the Spanish economy evaluating the variety of economic indicators. On the other hand, the economy is not the only factor making changes in tourism, Internet is also key to the development of tourism businesses. Ultimately, it is made an empirical analysis of the value of the three main tourism companies which are listed in the Spanish Stock Exchange: Melia Hotels, NH Hotels and eDreams ODIGEO. The analysis has two parts: fundamental analysis and technical analysis. In the fundamental analysis, it is calculated a variety of stock ratios. With these ratios, it is estimated the goal price so it can be compared to the price of the share in the stock market. In the technical analysis, it is studied a variety of shapes that are creates by fluctuation of the share prices. Also, it is examined technical indicators and oscillators so with them know how the development of the shares is. It has been concluded that the tourism sector in 2019 is experiencing a slowdown. This situation is reflected in the price of the shares of the tourism companies which are studied in this project. The main recommendation about the shares of these companies is to sell them because the slowdown is increasing. Therefore, investors must carry out continuous studies of the shares to determinate if they have to sell it or buy it.Grado en Administración y Dirección de Empresa

Además, para generar dicha ruta, se adaptará e implementará un algoritmo de búsqueda heurística (en concreto, el algoritmo A*).ABSTRACT: A fundamental aspect in relation to tourism, beyond economic and social, is the planning of the activity (hotels, restaurants, points of interest ...), which can involve a considerable investment of time for the user. In order to reduce the time spent in the planning of tourist routes, this project proposes to develop a mobile application that, starting from an origin and with an objective destination, provides tourists with nearby points of interest in the environment of the most direct path between said origin and destination and propose an alternative route, of greater tourist attraction, that allows the tourist to visit any of these points of interest during the tour. To obtain these points of interest and generate the optimal route for tourists, the project is supported by a navigation tool, Google Maps. In addition, to generate said route, a heuristic search algorithm will be adapted and implemented (specifically, the A* algorithm).Grado en Ingeniería Informátic

Creating job satisfaction for employees can help organizations maintain their employees and save more costs from searching for new ones. Therefore, a primary goal of this research was to investigate how work-family conflict, workload and job stress influenced university lecturers’ work satisfaction. To accomplish the current aim, researchers invited 450 respondents who were currently having positions as lecturers at any university in Thailand. Next, a structural equation model was employed to analyze 387 valid data. In gender statistics, 45.2% were male respondents, while 54.8 % were female. Moreover, gender obtained mean scores of 1.54 with standard deviation scores of 0.49. Based on age statistics, most of the respondents who joined this research were between 20-30 years (41.3%), followed by 31-41 years (24.5%), 41-50 years (19.9%) and above 50 years (14.2%). Meanwhile, its mean score (is 2.07 with a standard deviation of 1.09. According to the results of this research, increasing work-family conflict and workload caused lecturers to receive more stress from their work. Moreover, the lecturers were happy once certain degrees of stress and work-family conflict, except workload, diminished. Meanwhile, stress among university lecturers significantly mediated their workloads and work satisfaction. This result highlighted a side effect of a certain number of workloads influencing lecturers’ stress levels, which increased the significant role of job stress in further influencing lecturers’ work satisfaction

A two way process – Social capacity as a driver and outcome of equitable marine spatial planning

    Get PDF
Although stakeholder engagement is one of the founding principles of marine spatial planning (MSP), meaningful representation of people and their connections to marine resources within marine governance is still lacking. A broad understanding of how concepts surrounding social capital and capacity is translated into MSP practice is missing. With this article, we describe detailed case studies in the United Kingdom, Brazil and South Africa to build a better understanding of the ways in which MSP and other ocean governance initiatives operationalise the concepts of social capital and capacity. Drawing on insights from the cases, we call for a rethinking of capacitation as a two-way process. In particular, trust-building, social learning and efforts to build social capacity should be elaborated without imposing a hierarchy between people ‘who know’ and people ‘who don’t’. Innovative approaches to relationship building, knowledge development, and collaboration highlighted in the case studies highlight ways to build social capacity both among stakeholders and planners, as is necessary for more equitable and sustainable MSP development and implementation
