RFID-based indoor positioning of autonomous aid for disable people

    Get PDF
Nowadays, global positioning system (GPS) is widely used in localization area because it's very capable and reliable. However, in indoor positioning, GPS capabilities are very limited since the satellite signals are typically strongly attenuated by walls and ceiling. Thus, this project introduced the concept which presents a self-localization of a mobile robot by fusing radio frequency identification (RFID) system and wireless communication using XBee module to be used in indoor environment. Two Xbee devices will be used to transfer data from the remote control unit to mobile robot. Aims of this project are to create a mobile robot that reacts to the remote control to go to the desired position as command. To meet the desired aim of this project, practical and compact design technique are emphasized in order to create a mobile robot and the remote control. Sixteen RFID cards are arranged in a fixed pattern on the floor. A unique code of each RFID card provides the position data to the mobile robot. An RFID reader act as antenna will be installed to read the card data on the below of the mobile robot. The user can make it come by easily pressing the remote control by informing the user location

Implementation of Fingerprint Assist Wending Machine with Recharge Option

    Get PDF
In this paper we propose an implementation technique for coffee vending machine with the goal of getting recharge option for customer using fingerprint-based authentication. We implement the proposed design based on Advance Virtual RISC (AVR) microcontroller. The circuit is tested and compared with the existing embedded technology. Among the various biometric traits (e.g., face, iris, fingerprint, voice), Fingerprint-based authentication has the longest history, and has been successfully adopted in both forensic and civilian applications. Advances in fingerprint capture technology have resulted in new large scale civilian applications. The purpose of this article is to give an overview of fingerprint-based recognition and discuss research opportunities for making these systems perform more effectively

Air Pollution Monitoring & Control System For Vehicles

    Get PDF
This paper is intended to provide a model for detecting the air pollution that is occuring from vehicles. For that intention there is a semi-conductor gas sensor at the exaust of vehicles which detects the level of pollutants. When the emission level goes beyond the already set threshold level,by using GSM,a messege will be send on the drivers mobile number also there will be a buzzer in the vehicle to indicate that the limit has been crossed and the vehicle will stop automatically after a particular time period some time given to the driver for parking vehicle. During this time, the GPS starts locating the nearby service stations. After the counter of timer runs out, the fuel supplied to the engine of vehicle will be cut-off by using fuel injector circuit and the vehicle has to be towed to the mechanic or to the nearest service station. A microcontroller moniters and controls the syncronization and execution of the entire process.. This project, will benefit the society and help in reducing the air pollution. when implemented as a real time project

Mobile Robotic Platform to Gathering Real Time Sensory Data in Wireless Personal Area Network using Zigbee Transceiver Module

Robots are intelligent and obedient but impersonal machine which perform functions according to their own intelligence. Now days monitoring and control plays very vital role in every sectors .we can able to provide wirelessly controlled robots using Wireless personal Area Network (WPAN) interface with the help of Graphical User Interface (GUI) of MATLAB, which are capable of detecting  the gas contents and temperature and send it back to the control room. Now the data which is now available in the receiving end determines the further action of robots. The whole process is cost effective and economically sound. Further these wireless robots have broad applications like in wireless home security applications, coal mining, spy and war robots as they can make through in enemy areas just to track their activities. Other applications  like in Nuclear Power Plant we can send them in Radioactive area toanalyze things which is normally not possible for humans. Keywords:Wpan, Zigbbe, Matlab Gu

Egg incubator control system with short message service (sms) fault analysis alert

    Get PDF
The egg incubator system with temperature sensor can measure the state of the incubator and automatically change to the suitable condition for the egg. The health of the egg is very important for the development of embryo. The status condition in the incubator system will appear on the liquid crystal display (LCD) screen. To make sure all part of egg was heated by lamp, direct current (DC) motor was used to rotate iron rod at the bottom side and automatically change the position of egg. The entire element is controlled using programmable integrated circuit (PIC) – a type of microcontroller that can process a data from sensor and will execute the control element to change the condition of the incubator system. The heater is interfaced with the controller through the optocoupler. The optocoupler isolates the microcontroller from the alternating current (AC) power, thereby preventing any possible flow back of the AC into the control circuit. The software intelligent agent was embedded into 8051 family of micro controllers, emulating the attention commands of mobile cell phone using window HyperTerminal and microcontroller and thus translate  attention commands to assembly language, having machine cycle of 1.085s,R=10K,C=10ìF, t=2.17ìs,transistor collector current, Ic=800mA and emitter forward current gain, hfe gives 200.The SMS mobile cell phone using AT89C51 microcontroller in the prototype self diagnostic systems, will not only control the temperature of an incubator but also detect and analyze faults in the system. The programme used in this work is user friendly since the incubator system can move to other places. Keywords: Microcontroller, Optocoupler, Programmable Integrated Circuit (PIC) and Window HyperTermina

Design and Implementation of a Mobile Robot for Carbon Monoxide Monitoring

    Get PDF
The gas detection problem is relevant to many real-world applications, such as leak detection in industrial settings and landfill monitoring. The mobile robot used for gas detection has several advantages and can reduce danger for humans. In this study, we proposed an integration system for a mobile robot that can be used for carbon monoxide (CO) monitoring with different operating temperatures. The design and implementation of a mobile robot system that proposed consists of the onboard and ground stations. The proposed system can read CO gas concentration and temperature then send it wirelessly using an XBee module to the ground station. This system was also able to receive the command from the ground station to move the robot. The system provided real-time acquisition data that believed can be a useful tool for monitoring and can be applied for various purposes. The experimental results show that a combination of a mobile robot and environmental sensors can be used for environmental monitoring

Advanced Bank locker system using RFID and GSM technology

    Get PDF
The main objective of this paper is to design andimplement a secure advanced bank locker system based on RFID and GSM technology which can be organized in banks, offices or even in homes. In this designed project the authenticated personcan only recover the thing present inside the locker. Thetraditional locker systems using mechanical and key mechanismare replaced by new advanced techniques of locking system. These techniques are an integration of mechanical and electronic devicesand are highly intelligent, simple and high efficiency. Here, we have implemented bank security system consisting of door locksystem based on RFID and GSM which can activate, authenticate, and validate the user and give the access for the door in real time. This system consists of a microcontroller, RFID and its reader, lcd display, keyboard, GSM module and a relay. The main advantage of using passive RFID and GSM is for two step authentication and to make system more secure than the others. On other hand it also has advantage of generating real time password. In this system, the RFID reader reads the id number from passive tag and later itwill be checked by the microcontroller, if id number matches it sends a message to the registered phone number to generate a password in the real time. Then it will provide you an option to enter thegenerated password on the keyboard present at the locker. If bothpassword matches the door will get unlocked otherwise it denies theaccess and the user cannot make furtheruse of locker
