Fuzzy automata system with application to target recognition based on image processing
AbstractIn order to get better image processing and target recognition, this paper presents a fuzzy automata system to target recognition. The system first performs image processing, and then accomplishes the target recognition. The system consists of four parts: image preprocessing, feature extraction, target matching and experiment. Compared with existing approaches, this paper uses both global features and local features of the target image, and carries out target recognition by using a fuzzy automata system. Simulation results show that the correct recognition rate based on the fuzzy automata system for target recognition is higher at 94.59%, an improvement on an average of 29.24%, compared to other existing approaches. Finally, some directions for future research are described

The detection and classification of blast cell in Leukaemia Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia (AML M3) blood using simulated annealing and neural networks
This paper was delivered at AIME 2011: 13th Conference on Artifical Intelligence in Medicine. This paper presents a method for the detection and classification of blast cells in M3 with others sub-types using simulated annealing and neural networks. In this paper, we increased our test result from 10 images to 20 images. We performed Hill Climbing, Simulated Annealing and Genetic Algorithms for detecting the blast cells. As a result, simulated annealing is the “best” heuristic search for detecting the leukaemia cells. From the detection, we performed features extraction on the blast cells and we classifying based on M3 and other sub-types using neural networks. We received convincing result which has targeting around 97% in classifying of M3 with other sub-types. Our results are based on real world image data from a Haematology Department.Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia and the Ministry of Higher Education, Malaysi
Fuzzy Automata: A Quantitative Review
Classical automata theory cannot deal with the system uncertainty. To deal with the system uncertainty the concept of fuzzy finite automata was proposed. Fuzzy automata can be used in diverse applications such as fault detection, pattern matching, measuring the fuzziness between strings, description of natural languages, neural network, lexical analysis, image processing, scheduling problem and many more. In this paper, a methodical literature review is carried out on various research works in the field of Fuzzy automata and explained the challenging issues in the field of fuzzy automata
A Survey of Cellular Automata: Types, Dynamics, Non-uniformity and Applications
Cellular automata (CAs) are dynamical systems which exhibit complex global
behavior from simple local interaction and computation. Since the inception of
cellular automaton (CA) by von Neumann in 1950s, it has attracted the attention
of several researchers over various backgrounds and fields for modelling
different physical, natural as well as real-life phenomena. Classically, CAs
are uniform. However, non-uniformity has also been introduced in update
pattern, lattice structure, neighborhood dependency and local rule. In this
survey, we tour to the various types of CAs introduced till date, the different
characterization tools, the global behaviors of CAs, like universality,
reversibility, dynamics etc. Special attention is given to non-uniformity in
CAs and especially to non-uniform elementary CAs, which have been very useful
in solving several real-life problems.Comment: 43 pages; Under review in Natural Computin
Pattern Recognition
A wealth of advanced pattern recognition algorithms are emerging from the interdiscipline between technologies of effective visual features and the human-brain cognition process. Effective visual features are made possible through the rapid developments in appropriate sensor equipments, novel filter designs, and viable information processing architectures. While the understanding of human-brain cognition process broadens the way in which the computer can perform pattern recognition tasks. The present book is intended to collect representative researches around the globe focusing on low-level vision, filter design, features and image descriptors, data mining and analysis, and biologically inspired algorithms. The 27 chapters coved in this book disclose recent advances and new ideas in promoting the techniques, technology and applications of pattern recognition
APPLICATION OF APRIORIC ALGORITHM IN ORDERING PRINTING MATERIALS
Wendy Printing is one of the printers that collaborates with Labuhan Batu University, especially in the Computer Science faculty, Wendy's printing is located on the Jalan setia budi intersection of Labuhan Batu University campus. Wendy printing leaders and employees sometimes have difficulty knowing how many teaching materials are printed in one transaction, so that Wendy's printing leaders are still manual / speculative in printing teaching materials. The application of data mining for ordering teaching materials at the faculty of computer science at Labuhan Batu University in the wendy print can produce association rules that can be seen and analyzed for the results, so that the print leader can see the frequency of teaching materials that often occur in every transaction. Therefore, analysis and testing are carried out
