    Zonotopic fault detection observer design for Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems

    This paper considers zonotopic fault detection observer design in the finite-frequency domain for discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno fuzzy systems with unknown but bounded disturbances and measurement noise. We present a novel fault detection observer structure, which is more general than the commonly used Luenberger form. To make the generated residual sensitive to faults and robust against disturbances, we develop a finite-frequency fault detection observer based on generalised Kalman–Yakubovich–Popov lemma and P-radius criterion. The design conditions are expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities. The major merit of the proposed method is that residual evaluation can be easily implemented via zonotopic approach.     Linearized large signal modeling, analysis, and control design of phase-controlled series-parallel resonant converters using state feedback

    This paper proposes a linearized large signal state-space model for the fixed-frequency phase-controlled series-parallel resonant converter. The proposed model utilizes state feedback of the output filter inductor current to perform linearization. The model combines multiple-frequency and average state-space modeling techniques to generate an aggregate model with dc state variables that are relatively easier to control and slower than the fast resonant tank dynamics. The main objective of the linearized model is to provide a linear representation of the converter behavior under large signal variation which is suitable for faster simulation and large signal estimation/calculation of the converter state variables. The model also provides insight into converter dynamics as well as a simplified reduced order transfer function for PI closed-loop design. Experimental and simulation results from a detailed switched converter model are compared with the proposed state-space model output to verify its accuracy and robustness

    Row-switched states in two-dimensional underdamped Josephson junction arrays

    When magnetic flux moves across layered or granular superconductor structures, the passage of vortices can take place along channels which develop finite voltage, while the rest of the material remains in the zero-voltage state. We present analytical studies of an example of such mixed dynamics: the row-switched (RS) states in underdamped two-dimensional Josephson arrays, driven by a uniform DC current under external magnetic field but neglecting self-fields. The governing equations are cast into a compact differential-algebraic system which describes the dynamics of an assembly of Josephson oscillators coupled through the mesh current. We carry out a formal perturbation expansion, and obtain the DC and AC spatial distributions of the junction phases and induced circulating currents. We also estimate the interval of the driving current in which a given RS state is stable. All these analytical predictions compare well with our numerics. We then combine these results to deduce the parameter region (in the damping coefficient versus magnetic field plane) where RS states can exist.Comment: latex, 48 pages, 15 figs using psfi
