Output-Feedback Control of Nonlinear Systems using Control Contraction Metrics and Convex Optimization

    Get PDF
Control contraction metrics (CCMs) are a new approach to nonlinear control design based on contraction theory. The resulting design problems are expressed as pointwise linear matrix inequalities and are and well-suited to solution via convex optimization. In this paper, we extend the theory on CCMs by showing that a pair of "dual" observer and controller problems can be solved using pointwise linear matrix inequalities, and that when a solution exists a separation principle holds. That is, a stabilizing output-feedback controller can be found. The procedure is demonstrated using a benchmark problem of nonlinear control: the Moore-Greitzer jet engine compressor model.Comment: Conference submissio

On the asymptotic behavior of highly nonlinear hybrid stochastic delay differential equations

    Get PDF
In this paper, under a local Lipschitz condition and a monotonicity condition, the problems on the existence and uniqueness theorem as well as the almost surely asymptotic behavior for the global solution of highly nonlinear stochastic differential equations with time-varying delay and Markovian switching are discussed by using the Lyapunov function and some stochastic analysis techniques. Two integral lemmas are firstly established to overcome the difficulty stemming from the coexistence of the stochastic perturbation and the time-varying delay. Then, without any redundant restrictive condition on the time-varying delay, by utilizing the integral inequality, the exponential stability in pth(p ≥ 1)-moment for such equations is investigated. By employing the nonnegative semi-martingale convergence theorem, the almost sure exponential stability is analyzed. Finally, two examples are given to show the usefulness of the results obtained.National Natural Science Foundation of ChinaNatural Science Foundation of Jiangxi Province of ChinaFoundation of Jiangxi Provincial Educations of ChinaMinisterio de Economía y Competitividad (MINECO). Stability, stabilizability and exact controllability of a class of linear neutral type systems

    Get PDF
Linear systems of neutral type are considered using the infinite dimensional approach. The main problems are asymptotic, non-exponential stability, exact controllability and regular asymptotic stabilizability. The main tools are the moment problem approach, the Riesz basis of invariant subspaces and the Riesz basis of family of exponentials.Comment: Conf\'erence pl\'eni\`er
