HCME: An Environment-Friendly I.C. Engine Fuel
The study revealed that Hura crepitans oil is a good candidate for Hura crepitans methyl ester (HCME)
production. Two steps (esterification and transesterification) production stages influenced the high yield of
HCME. Three possible experimental runs were performed in each step, the best of the three conditions
were 1.45 (% v/v) for H2SO4 conc., 5:1 for methanol/oil molar ratio, 40 min for reaction time which gave
1.06 % for FFA in the first step, in the second step, 92.70 %(w/w) of HCME was obtained at 0.55% KOH,
5:1 methanol/oil molar ratio, 60 oC temperature and 30 min reaction time. The produced HCME had fuel
properties which satisfied both ASTME D6751 and EN 1424 standards. The fatty acid profile of the HCME
revealed the dominant fatty acids were linoleic (64.50%), oleic (17.54%) and palmitic (12.70%). Exhaust
emissions from an internal combustion (I.C.) engine revealed that there is 60% decreased in CO, 58%
decreased in NOx, 60% decreased in HC, 39% decrease in smoke opacity and 42% decreased in BSFC
at B20, respectively. Flue gas temperature increased by 12% at B20, 45% increased in BTE at B50 when
compared to pure diesel (AGO). Hence, it can be concluded that
B20 (20% HCME + 80% AGO) will provides the best emission reduction at the lowest cost
GEOPOL®. The innovated environment friendly inorganic binder system
This paper deals with the complete technology of inorganic geopolymer binder system GEOPOL® which is a result of long term research
and development. The objective of this paper is to provide a theoretical and practical overview of the GEOPOL® binder system and
introduce possible ways of moulds and cores production in foundries. GEOPOL® is a unique inorganic binder system, which is needed and
welcomed in terms of the environment, the work environment, and the sustainable resources. The GEOPOL® technology is currently used
in the foundries for three basic production processes/technologies: (1) for self-hardening moulding mixtures, (2) sand mixtures hardened
by gaseous carbon dioxide and (3) the hot box technology with hot air hardening. The GEOPOL® technology not only solves the binder
system and the ways of hardening, but also deals with the entire foundry production process. Low emissions produced during mixing of
sand, moulding, handling, and pouring bring a relatively significant improvement of work conditions in foundries (no VOCs). A high
percentage of the reclaim sand can be used again for the preparation of the moulding mixture.Web of Science19111610
Environment Friendly Industrial Growth for Sustainability
Any country's environmental problems are related to the level of its economic development, the availability of natural resources and the lifestyle of its population. In India, the rapid growth of population, poverty, urbanization, industrialization and several related factors are responsible for the rapid degradation of the environment. Environmental problems have become serious in many parts of the country, and hence cannot be ignored. 80% of the total population of Odisha, a state of Eastern India depends on agriculture. But most of them are small and marginal farmers. 48% farmers households are indebted. The state, in reality, is the second poorest state in India today, next only to Bihar. Industrialization is the only alternative to develop the economic status of the state but the darker side of it is environmental pollution. Hence if the growth of industry can be accelerated along with environmental protection then a balance can be maintained. So this paper examines the growth of cottage industries in the state of Odisha through different statistical analysis as this is an eco-friendly industry and simultaneously a prospective area for the growth of indigenous talent
Environment friendly industrial nanotechnologies
One of the most interesting and perspective directions in material engineering of the last years is development of technology of nanocomposite materials consisting from two or more phases with precise interphase border and nanostructured materials based on interpenetrated polymer network.Israel is one of leaders in nanotechnology, not only in fundamental academic researches but mainly in industrial researches and founding start-up companies Some important results in the nanotechnology material engineering
field in Israel are summarized in the paper.

INVESTIGATING PREFERENCES FOR ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY PRODUCTION
This paper reports some preliminary results on a mixed logit random utility analysis of conjoint data from costumers' preferences over agricultural products. The data are collected via a telematic sample representative of Italian households. The survey instrument was implemented via a computer supported system. A multivariate normal full correlation structure is imposed in the mixed logit estimation and the implications of such a taste structure are examined.
Means of environment-friendly protection of white cabbage against the onion thrips
ősz folyamán is értékelt fajta a későbbi időszakban megfigyelt kisebb károsodása szemlélteti.
A rendkívül ellenálló Autumn Queen F1 fajta esetében az időzítésnek nem volt kimutatható
hatása a kialakult csekély kártételre
Environment-friendly schemes in intensive shrimp farming.
International environmental pressure groups call for shrimp importing countries to impose a trade embargo against farmed shrimps produced in a manner considered deleterious to the environment. In fact, Europe had banned in 2000 the importation of shrimps from some Asian countries. The subject of such protest actions included: (1) discharge of substances potentially harmful to marine organisms (chemicals used during pond preparation and therapeutants used during culture period); (2) discharge of excessive organic load during regular water change and harvests; and (3) chemical residues in shrimps harvested and marketed.
In the Philippines, a mandate from the national government was given to SEAFDEC in 1996 to rehabilitate the shrimp industry, which almost reached the brink of virtual collapse due to diseases brought about by some environmentally destructive practices. Mangrove-friendly aquaculture or what is sometimes referred to as the environment-friendly aquaculture was launched by AQD as a five-year program starting in 1998. The focus was later changed to shrimp culture and made part of the ASEAN-SEAFDEC Fisheries Consultative Group (FCG) collaborative project with AQD as Lead Department for technology development and verification, and Thailand as Lead Country for promoting the technology within the Southeast Asian region
