Over the last decade Slovenia has achieved clear and positive macro-economic results that have placed it among the most sucessful transitions countries. The basic indicators show that it has been integrating and catching up with European Union member states at an ever increasing pace. Despite this, the challenges of a global economy-where only innovation and entrepreneurship can compete succesfully, and the relative lag in the competitive capacity of our economy behind numerous other countries in the world rankings, require drastic changes to be made to Slovenia’s economic structure to adopt as much as possible to the demans of the knowledge based economy. That means the transformation from an economy with low added value whose competitiveness is based on low operative costs into an economy based on production and service activities whose competitive advantages are high added value, quality, innovation and entrapreneurship. Entrepreneurship and the diffusion of innovation, which considerably increase the speed at which new high-quality and low cost products replace existing products, are two driving forces of the knowledge based economy and they are changing the economic structure of leading countries....national competitiveness, benchmarking, development strategy, industrial policy

Project Work presented as the partial requirement for obtaining a Master's degree in Data Driven Marketing, specialization in Digital Marketing and AnalyticsThe shift from mechanical and analog technology to digital electronics leading to the "Second Digital Revolution."With the rise of the Data Economy, companies need to redefine their role in this economy by evaluating their engagement. Data has become a valuable asset that can be monetized, and companies are leveraging it to scale their businesses. Schneider Electric, a top energy management company, uses innovative technologies and solutions to drive digital transformation. This project was created to answer challenges faced by Schneider Electric in giving visibility to partners, monetizing data, and sharing data securely. As part of the project deployment, qualitative analysis methods were used, including semi-structured interviews and use case analysis. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with service partners at different project stages to gather insights and requirements. Use case analysis was employed to define user interactions within the system. The interviews revealed service partners' need for tools to record and display inventory, access comprehensive product information, and receive proactive notifications. The use cases were developed based on these insights and aimed to address the partners' pain points while aligning with Schneider Electric's business objectives. Overall, these methods helped gather valuable input for the project and shape the solution design. The project successfully improved the customer journey for all types of customers through the mySchneider portal, providing convenient access to customer information, service maintenance contracts, service visits, and reports. The methodology employed in the project can be applied to other initiatives and future enhancements, aiming to enhance customer satisfaction and increase business revenue. The project also has theoretical implications for marketing and customer relationship management, empowering businesses to develop effective strategies and cultivate stronger customer relationships. Agile project methodology was effective in navigating budget and timeline constraints. The implementation of the project will support Schneider Electric's global offices and their services growth strategies through partnerships

Energy-efficient through-life smart design, manufacturing and operation of ships in an industry 4.0 environment

Energy efficiency is an important factor in the marine industry to help reduce manufacturing and operational costs as well as the impact on the environment. In the face of global competition and cost-effectiveness, ship builders and operators today require a major overhaul in the entire ship design, manufacturing and operation process to achieve these goals. This paper highlights smart design, manufacturing and operation as the way forward in an industry 4.0 (i4) era from designing for better energy efficiency to more intelligent ships and smart operation through-life. The paper (i) draws parallels between ship design, manufacturing and operation processes, (ii) identifies key challenges facing such a temporal (lifecycle) as opposed to spatial (mass) products, (iii) proposes a closed-loop ship lifecycle framework and (iv) outlines potential future directions in smart design, manufacturing and operation of ships in an industry 4.0 value chain so as to achieve more energy-efficient vessels. Through computational intelligence and cyber-physical integration, we envision that industry 4.0 can revolutionise ship design, manufacturing and operations in a smart product through-life process in the near future

    Enabling Entrepreneurial Ecosystems

Inspired by research on the importance of entrepreneurship for sustained economic growth and improved wellbeing, many governments and non-governmental grantmaking organizations have sought over the past decade to implement policies and programs intended to support entrepreneurs. Over this interval, growing appreciation of the limits of strategies focused narrowly on financing or training entrepreneurs has prompted a number of such entities to shift their efforts toward more broadbased strategies aimed at enabling "entrepreneurial ecosystems" at the city or sub-national regional scale. This paper takes the metaphor of the "ecosystem" seriously, seeking to draw lessons from evolutionary biology and ecology to inform policy for entrepreneurship. In so doing, the paper provides a framework for data gathering and analysis of practical value in assessing the vibrancy of entrepreneurial ecosystems
