    Analysis of Multi-Representation-Based E-book Needs on Basic Physics Materials, Department of Physics Education, Musamus University

    This study aims to describe the analysis of development needs and produce multi-representation-based e-books in basic physics courses. This study uses a mixed-method, explanatory sequential design model. This research is still limited in definition, namely needs analysis before developing multi-representation-based e-books. The development of a multi-representation-based basic physics e-book is based on several aspects of student needs including aspects of the student basic physics lecture process, student difficulties in understanding basic physics material, learning resources used by students in studying basic physics material: student needs related to basic physics e-book needs integrated multi-representation in solving Physics problems. The subjects of this study were 76 students of the Department of Physics Education, Musamus University, Merauke. The results of the analysis show that a total of 91.1% of students of the physics education department at the University of Musamus need multi-representation-based e-books in the basic physics learning process. This is supported by student response data. First, the majority of student learning processes are still learning using conventional methods in lectures, so they need interactive media to improve the quality of learning. Second, the majority of students only have access to learning resources in the form of textbooks in lectures. Third, the majority of students have difficulties understanding physics concepts. Fourth, students need multi-representation-based e-books in Physics lectures

    STUDENTS’ PERCEPTION ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF BASIC PHYSICS PRACTICUM GUIDE ON MOBILE LEARNING

    This study aims to investigate at students' perceptions on basic physics practicum guides on mobile learning. This research was a descriptive study involving 117 students with 59 physics education students and 58 chemistry ones. The instruments were questionnaires and semi-structured interviews intended to strengthen the quantitative data. The data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaire to the physics and chemistry education students who have conducted physics practicum using a mobile-based guide. Then interview was conducted only to those willing to be interviewed. The data were analyzed with  descriptive statistics to determine students' perceptions on mobile-based practicum guides.. The results showed that the practical learning guide based on mobile learning is feasible to use with the results of the perception of physics education included in both categories with a frequency of 38 (64.4%) and for chemical education perceptions also in the good category with a frequency of 28 (48.3%). The data were supported by interview results showing that students are more interested and enthusiastic in conducting practical work because they used mobile-based guides

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar berbasis aplikasi android tema Energi dan Lingkungan untuk meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kriteria dan Literasi Informasi siswa SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development ( R&D), dengan Model Proses Menulis Materi Ajar (MPM2A). Subjek dalam pnelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII disalah satu SMP Negeri di Kota Bandung sebanyak 60 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Lembar penilaian kualitas bahan ajar, Uji keterpahaman ide pokok Soal tes Keterampilan berpikir kritis, Soal tes Literasi Informasi dan angket respon siswa. Teknis analisis data menggunakan uji statistik uji t, persentase data gain ternormalisasi dan uji dampak. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, bahan ajar berbasis aplikasi android tema energi dan lingkungan menunjukkan bahwa: [1] kualitas bahan ajar berbasis android memperoleh nilai 80,1% dengan interpretasi “Layak” digunakan sebagai bahan ajar mandiri; [2] Peningkatan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis setelah menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis android menghasilkan N-gain sebesar 0,71 dengan interpretasi “Tinggi”; [3] Peningkatan Literasi informasi setelah menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis android menghasilkan N-gain sebesar 0,63 dengan interpretasi “Sedang” [4] Efektifitas penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis android yang kembangkan untuk meningkatkan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis menghasilkan nilai ukuran dampak sebesar 2,00 dengan kriteria “Besar” dibandingkan dengan bahan ajar BSE yang digunakan disekolah dengan ; [5] Efektifitas penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis android yang kembangkan untuk meningkatkan Literasi Informasi menghasilkan nilai ukuran dampak sebesar 2,08 dengan kriteria “Besar” dibandingkan dengan bahan ajar BSE yang digunakan disekolah; [6] Respon siswa terhadap bahan ajar berbasis android yang dikembangkan memperoleh persentase sebesar 84,1% dengan interpretasi respon yang positif. Hampir seluruhnya siswa memberikan respon positif terhadap bahan ajar berbasis aplikasi android Syang dikembangkan Kata Kunci: Bahan Ajar berbasis android, Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis, Literasi Informasi his study aims to develop android application-based teaching materials on the theme of Energy and Environment to improve Thinking Skills for Information Criteria and Literacy for junior high school students. This study uses the Research and Development (R & D) method, with the Teaching Material Writing Process Model (MPM2A). The subjects in this study were seventh grade students in one of the Public Middle Schools in Bandung as many as 60 students. The instruments used are evaluation sheets for the quality of teaching materials, understanding of the main ideas of the test questions, critical thinking skills, information literacy test questions and student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses the t test statistic test, the percentage of normalized gain data and the impact test. Based on the results of the analysis, Android-based teaching materials on the theme of energy and environment show that: [1] the quality of Android-based teaching materials scores 80.1% with a "decent" interpretation used as an independent teaching material; [2] Increasing Critical Thinking Skills after using Android-based teaching materials produces N-gain of 0.71 with high interpretation; [3] Improving information literacy after using Android-based teaching materials produces N-gain of 0.63 with moderate interpretation. [4] The effectiveness of using Android-based teaching materials developed to improve Critical Thinking Skills results in a value of 2.00 with criteria " large "compared to BSE teaching materials used at school with; [5] The effectiveness of using Android-based teaching materials developed to improve Information Literacy produces an impact size value of 2.08 with the criteria of "large" compared to BSE teaching materials used at school; [6] Students' responses to Android-based teaching materials developed resulted in a percentage of 84.1% with a positive interpretation of responses.     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan bahan ajar berbasis mobile learning tema sistem pernapasan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan literasi informasi siswa SMP. Bahan ajar dikembangkan menggunakan model ADDIE. Penelitian ini melibatkan 42 siswa kelas VIII yang terbagi menjadi dua kelas dengan kelas eksperimen menggunakan bahan ajar berbasis mobile learning yang dikembangkan dan kelas kontrol menggunakan bahan ajar standar yang biasa digunakan disekolah. Instrument yang digunakan adalah lembar penilaian kualitas bahan ajar, lembar uji keterpahaman, soal keterampilan komunikasi, dan soal literasi informasi. Berdasarkan hasil Analisa data disimpulkan bahwa: 1) uji kualitas dan uji keterpahaman bahan ajar berbasis mobile learning terkategori baik dan layak digunakan sebagai bahan ajar mandiri, 2) bahan ajar berbasis mobile learning dapat meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa dengan N-Gain sebesar 0.35 termasuk kedalam kategori sedang, 3) bahan ajar berbasis mobile learning dapat meningkatkan literasi informasi siswa dengan N-Gain sebesar 0.70 termasuk kedalam kategori sedang, dan 4) uji effect size dan Uji diperoleh bahan ajar berbasis mobile learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi dan literasi informasi siswa dibandingkan dengan bahan ajar standar yang digunakan disekolah

    Free vibration of symmetric angly-plane layered truncated conical shells under classical theory

    Truncated conical shell finds wide ranging of engineering applications. They are used in space crafts, robots, shelters, domes, tanks, nozzles and in machinery devices. Thus, the study of their vibrational characteristics has long been of interest for the designers. The use of the lamination for the structures leads to design with the maximum reliability and minimum weight. Moreover, the study of free vibration of laminated conical shells has been treated by a number of researchers. Irie et al. (1982) studied free vibration of conical shells with variable thickness using Rayleigh-Ritz method of solution. Wu and Wu (2000) provided 3D elasticity solutions for the free vibration analysis of laminated conical shells by an asymptotic approach. Wu and Lee (2001) studied the natural frequencies of laminated conical shells with variable stiffness using the differential quadrature method under first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT). Tripathi et al. (2007) studied the free vibration of composite conical shells with random material properties of the finite element method. Civalek (2007) used the Discrete Singular Convolution (DSC) to investigate the frequency response of orthotropic conical and cylindrical shells. Sofiyez et al. (2009) studied the vibrations of orthotropic non-homogeneous conical shells with free boundary conditions. Ghasemi et al. (2012) presented their study of free vibration of composite conical shells which was investigated under various boundary conditions using the solution of beam function and Galerkin method. Viswanathan et al. (2007, 2011) studied free vibration of laminated cross-ply plates, including shear deformation, symmetric angle-ply laminated cylindrical shells of variable thickness with shear deformation theory using the spline collocation method. In the present work, free vibration of symmetric angle-ply laminated truncated conical shells is analyzed and displacement functions are approximated using cubic and quantic spline and collocation procedure is applied to obtain a set of field equations. The field equations along with the equations of boundary conditions yield a system of homogeneous simultaneous algebraic equations on the assumed spline coefficients which resulting to the generalized eigenvalue problem. This eigenvalue problem is solved using eigensolution technique to get as many eigenfrequencies as required. The effect of circumferential mode number, length ratio, cone angle, ply angles and number of layers under two boundary conditions on the frequency parameter is studied for three- and five- layered conical shells consisting of two types of layered materials

    Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa bahan ajar dalam bentuk modul elektronik dengan menggunakan aplikasi software 3D Pageflip Professional untuk siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Metode dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) yang mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Berdasarkan hasil penilaian dalam penelitian ini pada angket Persepsi menperoleh frekuensi sebanyak 25 siswa dengan persentase 100% dalam kategori cukup. Untuk angket minat mendapatkan frekuensi sebanyak 20 siswa dengan persentase sebesar 80% dalam kategori baik. Sementara untuk angket motivasi diperoleh frekuensi sebanyak 25 siswa dengan persentase sebesar 100% dalam kategori baik. Dari data yang dihasilkan menunjukkan bahwa modul elektronik etnokontruktivisme berbasis software 3D Pageflip Professional yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam proses pembelajaran
