    Quantitative Quality Model for Evaluating Open Source Web Applications: Case Study of Repository Software

    Many open source web applications exist today and universities also find them useful. For instance, universities now manage most of their research output by storing them in their respective institutional repositories. These repositories are often built as open source web applications and known as repository software. Several of these exist but three popular ones include: DSpace, EPrints and Greenstone (DEG). These three are open source and built by different institutions. Considering their increasing adoption and usage by universities today, it would be useful to have a model that can compare between the quality of two or more web applications and suggest the better option to an institution intending to adopt one. This paper therefore proposes a model for measuring quality in open source web applications (focusing on repository software) by adapting existing quality models. The proposed model is used to measure quality in DEG. The proposed model is validated through real data and the results presented and discussed. Overall, the model rated DSpace as the better option

    A Feature Ranking Algorithm in Pragmatic Quality Factor Model for Software Quality Assessment

    Software quality is an important research area and has gain considerable attention from software engineering community in identification of priority quality attributes in software development process. This thesis describes original research in the field of software quality model by presenting a Feature Ranking Algorithm (FRA) for Pragmatic Quality Factor (PQF) model. The proposed algorithm is able to improve the weaknesses in PQF model in updating and learning the important attributes for software quality assessment. The existing assessment techniques lack of the capability to rank the quality attributes and data learning which can enhance the quality assessment process. The aim of the study is to identify and propose the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technique for improving quality assessment technique in PQF model. Therefore, FRA using FRT was constructed and the performance of the FRA was evaluated. The methodology used consists of theoretical study, design of formal framework on intelligent software quality, identification of Feature Ranking Technique (FRT), construction and evaluation of FRA algorithm. The assessment of quality attributes has been improved using FRA algorithm enriched with a formula to calculate the priority of attributes and followed by learning adaptation through Java Library for Multi Label Learning (MULAN) application. The result shows that the performance of FRA correlates strongly to PQF model with 98% correlation compared to the Kolmogorov-Smirnov Correlation Based Filter (KSCBF) algorithm with 83% correlation. Statistical significance test was also performed with score of 0.052 compared to the KSCBF algorithm with score of 0.048. The result shows that the FRA was more significant than KSCBF algorithm. The main contribution of this research is on the implementation of FRT with proposed Most Priority of Features (MPF) calculation in FRA for attributes assessment. Overall, the findings and contributions can be regarded as a novel effort in software quality for attributes selection

    On today's Internet has become a necessity for many people, because with the Internet people can search and find a variety of information quickly and easily. Concept commonly used in e-commerce is business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C). Kaskus is the largest virtual community forum site and number one in Indonesia. The results of this study is expected to provide information to the e-retailer on the factors that may influence e-customer satisfaction, customer loyalty and e-e-customer trust. The sampling technique used a non-random sampling, with SEM as it’s analysis data. This research shows that the hypothesis H1: user interface proved to affect the quality of e-customer satisfaction, H2: user interface is not shown to affect the quality of e-customer trust, H3: information quality is not proven effect on the quality of e-customer satisfaction, H4: information quality quality no proven effect on e-customer trust, H5: perceived security has not been proven effect on e-customer satisfaction, H6: perceived security has not been proven effect on e-customer trust, H7: perceived privacy proven effect on e-customer satisfaction, H8: perceived shown to affect the privacy of e-customer trust, H9: e-customer satisfaction is not proven effect on e-customer loyalty, H10: e-customer trust shown to affect the e-customer loyalt

    Evaluasi kualitas fungsional dan antar muka situs web e-commerce dari perspektif pengguna sangat penting untuk membangun atau mengembangkan situs web e-commerce yang memenuhi standar kualitas. Namun, untuk menilai kualitas fungsional dan antar muka dari situs web e-commerce sulit untuk didefinisikan sehingga membutuhkan model evaluasi perangkat lunak. Pentingnya evaluasi kualitas situs web e-commerce berdasarkan karakteristik perangkat lunak utnuk dapat dikembangkan dan menyesuaikan standar kualitas perangkat lunak.Penelitian ini mengusulkan sebuah model evaluasi kualitas situs web e-commerce berdasarkan karakteristik pada functional suitability, performance efficiency, reliability dan usability pada ISO/IEC 25010. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode Fuzzy Mamdani untuk menilai kualitas dari situs web e-commerce berdasarkan karakteristik dan pembobotan kepentingan karakteristik menggunakan metode Analytical Hierarchy Process. Model yang diusulkan diterapkan ke beberapa situs web e-commerce di Indonesia sebagai studi kasus untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kualitas perangkat lunak. Hasil yang didapat dari model evaluasi dapat membantu pengembang untuk merancang dan menggembangkan situs web e-commerce yang kualitas dengan tingkat accurasy 0,684%

    Critical success criteria for B2B E-commerce systems in Chinese medical supply chain.

    The paper presents an exploratory investigation to determine and prioritise the critical success criteria, which can measure and guide the successful application and performance improvement of business to business e-commerce system (BBECS) in a medical supply chain's selling and buying functions, in the context of global business expansion. The research reveals that the buying and the selling functions have different prioritisations on the majority of the determined critical success measuring criteria. These criteria are categorised into three Critical Success Measuring Criteria Groups, for the selling and the buying functions, respectively, guiding medical supply chain members in harnessing the full advantage of a BBECS. For the selling function, the top critical success measuring criteria are as follows: integrating information searching/transmission and application processes, ensuring the reliability and timeliness of technical support, ensuring recognition and acceptance of e-commerce processes, displaying the organisation's business focus and product/service provisions online, securing a large scale/amount of business transactions, adjusting production outputs and inventory levels and having more registered users than competitors do. The top critical success measuring criteria for the buying function are as follows: securing the establishment of business relationships between businesses, displaying the measures ensuring mutual trust and cooperation online, ensuring employees' recognition of the benefit of e-commerce in increasing revenue, ensuring the contribution to the development and realisation of corporate strategy, achieving cost reduction for the organisation, making the purchase of famous brand products available/doable, securing a large scale/amount of business transactions, and ensuring the attainability of products/services at a lower price

    The Internet continues to grow at a fast pace with over 1.5 billion websites in 2019 as compared with only one in 1991. The emergence of enormous websites of various complexities and types makes assessing the quality of these sites a vastly important, difficult and complicated task. With this concern, the current paper proposes a novel approach for website assessment by developing a new Website Quality Evaluation Methodology Universal Star (WQEMUS) with a theoretical and empirical basis. It became possible through the employment of the  grounded  theory  methodology  that  enables  relevant  concepts  to  emerge  from  data. To improve the reliability and validity of the findings, an extensive literature review, in-depth and qualitative interviews, and a user evaluation survey were conducted and associated together. In this way, the study presents the results of the selection and categorization of generic quality attributes for WQEMUS with a three-tier structure, consisting of top-level quality criteria, sub-criteria and indicators. These quality dimensions are grounded on a combination of subjective and objective indicators. Consequently, WQEMUS becomes capable of estimating a wide range of different websites irrespective of domain affiliation and services they provide, including Web 3.0 sites.Интернет продолжает расти быстрыми темпами, более чем 1,5 млрд веб-сайтов в2019 г. по сравнению только с одним в1991 г. Появление огромных веб-сайтов различной сложности и типов делает оценку качества этих сайтов чрезвычайно важной и трудной задачей. В связи с этим в статье представлен новый подход к оценке веб-сайтов путем разработки новой Методологии Оценки Качества Веб-Сайтов Универсальная Звезда (МОКВУЗ) на теоретической и эмпирической основе. Чтобы повысить надежность и достоверность результатов исследования, были приведены обширный обзор литературы, углубленные и качественные интервью и оценки пользователей. Таким образом, в статье представлены результаты отбора и  категоризации общих  атрибутов качества для МОКВУЗ с трехуровневой структурой, состоящей из критериев качества высшего уровня, субкритериев и показателей. Эти аспекты качества основаны на сочетании субъективных и объективных показателей. Следовательно, МОКВУЗ становится способной оценивать широкий спектр различных веб-сайтов независимо от принадлежности к домену и предоставляемых ими услуг, включая сайты Веб 3.0
