Dynamic analysis of an under levelling-gripping system of an jacket platform under offshore environmental loads

This paper concerns dynamic analysis of an underwater leveling-gripping system which is mounted on a jacket under the influence of offshore environmental loads. Based on the Shinozuka theory, the wave load is calculated in the time domain while the ocean current and wind load on the jacket structure are calculated as constant loads. The main environmental loads and its combination which jacket withstand in leveling process are therefore defined. Using SACS software, according to the South China Sea conditions, a platform bottom dynamic response is calculated under extreme environmental loads in different return period. ADAMS software is also used to dynamically analyze the contact force of key clamping contact parts of leveling-gripping system in leveling process. With the result of analysis, the influence of environmental loads on leveling-gripping system, changes with time, can be obtained accurately, which is an important basis for the design of key parts of the leveling-gripping system

Footprints Across the South: Bartram\u27s Trail Revisited

    Get PDF
Over the past three decades, a tireless group of volunteers, funded by donations and small grants, has laid out the “Bartram Trail.” Drawn on maps, marked by metal signs beside highways and city streets and by blazes on trees, the trail follows the overall pathway of the eighteenth-century naturalist. Francis Harper’s edition of Bartram’s Travels led the way, identifying most of Bartram’s sites and species. More recently, Brad Sanders has given detailed directions to Bartram’s locations and present-day sites along the trail. Charles D. Spornick, Alan R. Cattier, and Robert J. Greene have published a guide for outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs that follows Bartram’s path. Others have documented the plants and animals that Bartram identified. The professional and avocational botanists are more qualified than I to discuss the whereabouts of these species and to describe them in modern science’s terms. This book is a view of the early twenty-first-century landscapes along Bartram’s trail. I have met the people who live there, seen and smelled the industries that have sunk their steel and concrete roots into the soil of his venues. This is the story of the America that grew around the Bartram Trail.https://digitalcommons.kennesaw.edu/ksupresslegacy/1012/thumbnail.jp

ABSTRACT Kampung houses are houses in kampung area of the city. Kampung House oftenly transformed into others use as urban dynamics. One of the transfomation is related to the commercial activities addition by the house owner. It make house with full private space become into mixused house with more public spaces or completely changed into full public commercial building. This study investigate the spatial transformation pattern of the kampung houses due to their commercial activities addition. Site observations, interviews and questionnaires were performed to study the spatial transformation. This study found that in kampung houses, the spatial transformation pattern was depend on type of commercial activities and owner perceptions, and there are several steps of the spatial transformation related the commercial activity addition. Keywords: spatial transformation pattern; commercial activity; owner perception, kampung house; adaptabilit

These proceedings contain research papers that were accepted for presentation at the 14th International Conference Inter-Eng 2020 ,Interdisciplinarity in Engineering, which was held on 8–9 October 2020, in Târgu Mureș, Romania. It is a leading international professional and scientific forum for engineers and scientists to present research works, contributions, and recent developments, as well as current practices in engineering, which is falling into a tradition of important scientific events occurring at Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology in the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy Science, and Technology of Târgu Mures, Romania. The Inter-Eng conference started from the observation that in the 21st century, the era of high technology, without new approaches in research, we cannot speak of a harmonious society. The theme of the conference, proposing a new approach related to Industry 4.0, was the development of a new generation of smart factories based on the manufacturing and assembly process digitalization, related to advanced manufacturing technology, lean manufacturing, sustainable manufacturing, additive manufacturing, and manufacturing tools and equipment. The conference slogan was “Europe’s future is digital: a broad vision of the Industry 4.0 concept beyond direct manufacturing in the company”
