Analysis domain model for shared virtual environments

    Get PDF
The field of shared virtual environments, which also encompasses online games and social 3D environments, has a system landscape consisting of multiple solutions that share great functional overlap. However, there is little system interoperability between the different solutions. A shared virtual environment has an associated problem domain that is highly complex raising difficult challenges to the development process, starting with the architectural design of the underlying system. This paper has two main contributions. The first contribution is a broad domain analysis of shared virtual environments, which enables developers to have a better understanding of the whole rather than the part(s). The second contribution is a reference domain model for discussing and describing solutions - the Analysis Domain Model

Issues in Planning Domain Model Engineering

The paper raises some issues relating to the engineering of domain models for automated planning. It studies the idea of a domain model as a formal specification of a domain, and considers properties of that specification. It proposes some definitions, which the planning and, more generally, the artificial intelligence community needs to consider, in order to properly deal with engineering issues in domain model creation

Design discussion on the ISDA Common Domain Model

A new initiative from the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) aims to establish a "Common Domain Model" (ISDA CDM): a new standard for data and process representation across the full range of derivatives instruments. Design of the ISDA CDM is at an early stage and the draft definition contains considerable complexity. This paper contributes by offering insight, analysis and discussion relating to key topics in the design space such as data lineage, timestamps, consistency, operations, events, state and state transitions.Comment: 19 page

Processing Metonymy: a Domain-Model Heuristic Graph Traversal Approach

We address here the treatment of metonymic expressions from a knowledge representation perspective, that is, in the context of a text understanding system which aims to build a conceptual representation from texts according to a domain model expressed in a knowledge representation formalism. We focus in this paper on the part of the semantic analyser which deals with semantic composition. We explain how we use the domain model to handle metonymy dynamically, and more generally, to underlie semantic composition, using the knowledge descriptions attached to each concept of our ontology as a kind of concept-level, multiple-role qualia structure. We rely for this on a heuristic path search algorithm that exploits the graphic aspects of the conceptual graphs formalism. The methods described have been implemented and applied on French texts in the medical domain.Comment: 6 pages, LaTeX, one encapsulated PostScript figure, uses colap.sty (included) and epsf.sty (available from the cmp-lg macro library). Realisation of chiral symmetry in the domain model of QCD

    Get PDF
The domain model for the QCD vacuum has previously been developed and shown to exhibit confinement of quarks and strong correlation of the local chirality of quark modes and duality of the background domain-like gluon field. Quark fluctuations satisfy a chirality violating boundary conditions parametrized by a random chiral angle αj\alpha_j on the j−thj-th domain. The free energy of an ensemble of N→∞N\to\infty domains depends on {αj,j=1...N}\{\alpha_j, j=1... N\} through the logarithm of the quark determinant. Its parity odd part is given by the axial anomaly. The anomaly contribution to the free energy suppresses continuous axial U(1) degeneracy in the ground state, leaving only a residual axial Z(2) symmetry. This discrete symmetry and flavour SU(Nf)L×SU(Nf)RSU(N_f)_L\times SU(N_f)_R chiral symmetry in turn are spontaneously broken with a quark condensate arising due to the asymmetry of the spectrum of Dirac operator. In order to illustrate the splitting between the η′\eta' from octet pseudoscalar mesons realised in the domain model, we estimate the masses of light pseudoscalar and vector mesons.Comment: 27 pages, uses RevTeX, 3 figures. v.2. includes additional references and comment

Pion transition form factor in the Domain model of QCD vacuum

Domain model of QCD allows for description of wide range of meson observables, dynamical chiral symmetry breaking, and resolution of UA(1)U_A(1) and strong CPCP problems. The purpose of the present study is transition form-factor of neutral pseudoscalar mesons, and how they are influenced by the typical vacuum configurations of the model -- almost everywhere homogeneous Abelian (anti-)self-dual fields. Asymptotic behavior of the calculated pion form-factor supports Belle trend, but the asymptotic value of Q2Fπγ∗γQ^2F_{\pi\gamma^*\gamma} differs from the prediction of factorization theorems.Comment: Talk given at The XXIII International Baldin Seminar on High Energy Physics Problems "Relativistic Nuclear Physics and Quantum Chromodynamics", September 19 to 24, 2016, Dubna (Russia); 4 pages, 3 figure

Toward Semantics-aware Representation of Digital Business Processes

An extended enterprise (EE) can be described by a set of models each representing a specific aspect of the EE. Aspects can for example be the process flow or the value description. However, different models are done by different people, which may use different terminology, which prevents relating the models. Therefore, we propose a framework consisting of process flow and value aspects and in addition a static domain model with structural and relational components. Further, we outline the usage of the static domain model to enable relating the different aspects
