Constructing virtual mannequins with different postures for purposes of 3D design of the clothes

This article deals with the problem of constructing virtual mannequins with non-standard figures for the purposes of 3D design of clothes made of textiles. A definition of the notion “virtual mannequin” is suggested. The following classifying features of the virtual mannequin as a research model have been defined: according to the sphere of usage - scientific feature; to the form – information feature; to the development in time – static or dynamic; to the degree of reflecting basic features – parameterbased; to the degree of detailed representation – specified. The necessity of creating virtual mannequins with standard and nonstandard figures of consumers is established. Practical requirements for transforming informational surface of the mannequin have been introduced in the article. Suggested here is a new mathematical model for transforming virtual mannequin with a standard figure into the mannequin with a non-standard figure, different from the standard one in the “frame position” parameter

The effect of breast size and bra type on comfort for UK female police officers wearing body armour

Within the Police service of England and Wales the wearing of ballistic and stab resistant body armour is common, with most police forces mandating its usage when away from the police station. Of all the serving police officers in England and Wales 29.1% are female (Hargreaves et al., 2017). A survey was developed and then distributed by the Police Federation of England and Wales to all servicing police officers up to the rank of Inspector. The survey returned 2633 responses after cleaning of the data. From the responses it was seen that the predominant bra type worn is underwired (71%) and the predominant UK bra size is 34B (9%). It was also determined that the predominant areas where the body armour either rubbed or caused discomfort were the left and right anterior mammary regions and the posterior lateral sacral region. By understanding the distribution of bra size, type of bra worn and areas of discomfort or rubbing it helps further understand the issues faced by female police officers and how body armour design could be improved

Female police body armour : improving comfort, protection, and testing.

A series of surveys and experiments were designed to extend the knowledge relating to female body armour, focusing on comfort, protection, and testing. Comfort was shown to be improved through professional fitting and sizing of new bras, with a sports bra being reported as most comfortable after refitting by 77% of participants. Statistically significant differences in key anthropometric measurements around the breast area were identified between bra types, including bust to bust length, bust circumference, and bust prominence. Exposure of the anterior lateral region of the body was greater compared to the posterior lateral region for female police officers, particularly around the breast area, (exposed anterior lateral breast area – underwired bra: mean 55%, max 72%; sports bra: mean 57%, max 75%). A comparison of three backing materials used for the assessment of back face signature (BFS): Roma Plastilina No1 (RP1); 10% ballistic gelatine; SEBS gel; showed that there were statistically significant differences between the three materials. 10% ballistic gelatine had the greatest variation in measured BFS with both projectiles (9mm; BFS 21.5 – 42.3mm: 0.357”; BFS 31.5 – 67.3mm). RP1 had the smallest variance in measured BFS with both projectiles (9mm; BFS 17.6 – 30.9 mm: 0.357”; BFS 18.9 – 32.5 mm), however, there were statistically significant differences in the spread of results for RP1. The knowledge gained is enabling the development of new guidance for female police officers on improvement in comfort when wearing body armour by the Police Federation. Designers of body armour have information on the effects of bra type on breast shape enabling future designs of body armour to be more tailored to shape, enable a better fit, and reduce the risk of air gaps under the armour. Understanding of the differences in three backing materials will enhance the development of future testing methods for female body armour, which will deliver improvements in the safety of body armour.Ph

Seamless Pattern Construction of Women´s Underwear in SW PDS

Obsahem bakalářské práce je tvorba konstrukčního algoritmu pro dámskou bezešvou podprsenku do prostředí CAD systému PDS TailorXQ.Rešeršní část popisuje konstrukční specifika bezešvých technologií, studuje charakteristické vlastnosti roztažnosti elastických materiálů s možností uplatnění v konstrukční síti. Představí základní pravidla pro tvorbu konstrukčních úseček a vybraná prostředí v CAD systému PDS TailorXQ. Analyzuje tvary střihových konstrukcí podprsenek vyráběných klasickou i bezešvou technologií.Experiment se zabývá vývojem a hodnocením konstrukčního algoritmu košíčkové části podprsenky, který je implementován do prostředí CAD systému PDS TailorXQ. Důraz se klade na geometrický popis tvaru střihového bloku košíčkové části podprsenky. Je vytvořen postup na vložení geometrického popisu košíčkové části podprsenky do CAD systému PDS TailorXQ pomocí grafického zobrazení predikčních rovnic.Výsledkem této práce je konstrukční algoritmus pro bezešvou podprsenku stupňující se dle pravidel zvoleného velikostního sortimentu v CAD systému PDS TailorXQ.The content of this bachelor thesis is to create a pattern constructional algorithm for the women's seamless bra in the SW PDS TailorXQ.The research is an analysis of the specific pattern construction of seamless technology, which studies the characteristic features of the elastic materials and their application in the pattern construction. It introduces basic rules for creating construction lines and selected environments in the SW PDS TailorXQ. It analyses the shapes of bra pattern constructions made by both classical and seamless technology.The experiment deals with the development and evaluation of the pattern construction algorithm of the bra cup, which is implemented into the SW PDS TailorXQ. Emphasis is placed on the geometric description of the shape cup part of bra. There is a procedure for inserting them into the SW PDS TailorXQ using a graphical representation of its predictive outcome.The result of this work is a structural algorithm for seamless (textures) in accordance with the chosen bra size range in SW PDS TailorXQ

Exploring the dynamics of knowledge sharing in the online affinity apaces of "Let's Play" Youtube Channels

With this dissertation the goal is to analyze the novel medium of video game streaming and more specifically the “Let’s Play” video format as seen on YouTube and other online platforms. The practice has experienced a rapid growth in popularity over the course of the last decade since its emergence, which means many of its intricacies are yet to be accounted for by academic research. The intent is to engage with it from the perspective of learning and knowledge exchange and see whether such processes take place within the channels dedicated to this type of content, and if so to map out their dynamics, and reflect critically on the picture that emerges from the exploration of these virtual spaces.El objetivo de esta tesis es analizar el nuevo medio para retransmisión de videojuegos y, en particular, el formato de vídeo "Let's Play" como el que está en YouTube y otras plataformas en línea. La práctica ha experimentado un rápido crecimiento de popularidad en el transcurso de la última década desde su aparición, lo que significa que muchas de sus complejidades aún deben tenerse en cuenta por la investigación académica. La intención es abordar este formato desde la perspectiva del aprendizaje y el intercambio de conocimientos y ver si tales procesos tienen lugar dentro de los canales dedicados a este tipo de contenido y, en caso de ser así, trazar la dinámica y reflexionar críticamente sobre el panorama que surge de la exploración de estos espacios virtuales.L'objectiu d'aquesta tesi és analitzar el nou mitjà de retransmissió de videojocs i, més concretament, el format de vídeo "Let's Play" que es veu a YouTube i altres plataformes en línia. Music is a human activity which involves structured and audible sounds, which is used for artistic or aesthetic, entertainment, or ceremonial purposes. The traditional or classical European aspects of music often listed are those elements given primacy in European-influenced classical music: melody, harmony, rhythm, tone color/timbre, and form. A more comprehensive list is given by stating the aspects of sound: pitch, timbre, loudness, and duration. Common terms used to discuss particular pieces include melody, which is a succession of notes heard as some sort of unit; chord, which is a simultaneity of notes heard as some sort of unit; chord progression, which is a succession of chords (simultaneity succession); harmony, which is the relationship between two or more pitches; counterpoint, which is the simultaneity and organization of different melodies; and rhythm, which is the organization of the durational aspects of music
