Stability and Hopf-Bifurcation Analysis of Delayed BAM Neural Network under Dynamic Thresholds

    Get PDF
In this paper the dynamics of a three neuron model with self-connection and distributed delay under dynamical threshold is investigated. With the help of topological degree theory and Homotopy invariance principle existence and uniqueness of equilibrium point are established. The conditions for which the Hopf-bifurcation occurs at the equilibrium are obtained for the weak kernel of the distributed delay. The direction and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are determined by the normal form theory and central manifold theorem. Lastly global bifurcation aspect of such periodic solutions is studied. Some numerical simulations for justifying the theoretical analysis are also presented

Hopf-pitchfork bifurcation of coupled van der Pol oscillator with delay

    Get PDF
In this paper, the Hopf-pitchfork bifurcation of coupled van der Pol with delay is studied. The interaction coefficient and time delay are taken as two bifurcation parameters. Firstly, the normal form is gotten by performing a center manifold reduction and using the normal form theory developed by Faria and Magalhães. Secondly, bifurcation diagrams and phase portraits are given through analyzing the unfolding structure. Finally, numerical simulations are used to support theoretical analysis

Hopf bifurcation and stability for a delayed tri-neuron network model

    Get PDF
AbstractA neural network model with three neurons and a single time delay is considered. Its linear stability is investigated and Hopf bifurcations are demonstrated by analyzing the corresponding characteristic equation. In particular, the explicit formulae determining the stability and the direction of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. In order to illustrate our theoretical analysis, some numerical simulations are also included in the end

Stability and Bifurcation Analysis in a Class of Two-Neuron Networks with Resonant Bilinear Terms

    Get PDF
A class of two-neuron networks with resonant bilinear terms is considered. The stability of the zero equilibrium and existence of Hopf bifurcation is studied. It is shown that the zero equilibrium is locally asymptotically stable when the time delay is small enough, while change of stability of the zero equilibrium will cause a bifurcating periodic solution as the time delay passes through a sequence of critical values. Some explicit formulae for determining the stability and the direction of the Hopf bifurcation periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations are obtained by using the normal form theory and center manifold theory. Finally, numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are carried out

Stability and Bifurcation Analysis for a Class of Generalized Reaction-Diffusion Neural Networks with Time Delay

    Get PDF
Considering the fact that results for static neural networks are much more scare than results for local field neural networks and our purpose letting the problem researched be more general in many aspects, in this paper, a generalized neural networks model which includes reaction-diffusion local field neural networks and reaction-diffusion static neural networks is built and the stability and bifurcation problems for it are investigated under Neumann boundary conditions. First, by discussing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of the trivial uniform steady state is discussed and the existence of Hopf bifurcations is shown. By using the normal form theory and the center manifold reduction of partial function differential equations, explicit formulae which determine the direction and stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are acquired. Finally, numerical simulations show the results

This paper focuses on the growth, development, and future of various forms of fractional-order neural networks. Multiple advances in structure, learning algorithms, and methods have been critically investigated and summarized. This also includes the recent trends in the dynamics of various fractional-order neural networks. The multiple forms of fractional-order neural networks considered in this study are Hopfield, cellular, memristive, complex, and quaternion-valued based networks. Further, the application of fractional-order neural networks in various computational fields such as system identification, control, optimization, and stability have been critically analyzed and discussed

Nonlinear dynamics of full-range CNNs with time-varying delays and variable coefficients

    Get PDF
In the article, the dynamical behaviours of the full-range cellular neural networks (FRCNNs) with variable coefficients and time-varying delays are considered. Firstly, the improved model of the FRCNNs is proposed, and the existence and uniqueness of the solution are studied by means of differential inclusions and set-valued analysis. Secondly, by using the Hardy inequality, the matrix analysis, and the Lyapunov functional method, we get some criteria for achieving the globally exponential stability (GES). Finally, some examples are provided to verify the correctness of the theoretical results

On the Nature of Bifurcation in a Ratio-Dependent Predator-Prey Model with Delays

    Get PDF
A ratio-dependent predator-prey model with two delays is investigated. The conditions which ensure the local stability and the existence of Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium of the system are obtained. It shows that the two different time delays have different effects on the dynamical behavior of the system. An example together with its numerical simulations shows the feasibility of the main results. Finally, main conclusions are included
