Technologies solutions and Oracle instruments used in the accomplishment of executive informatics systems (EIS)
The role of a system for the control of the data bases and the facilities offered by it is highly important in the success and performance of an executive informatics system. From this point of view, the analyze will take into account the facilities of working with evolved data bases and storages of data, the implementation of some OLAP functionalities an data mining but also the integration of data and applications coming from different sources, the way in which the process of extraction, transformation and loading of this data in the final storages takes place, the easiness in administration and the instruments offered for the developing of interfaces. One important point of this analyze refers to the performance in interrogation, both on operational data bases and the extraction of data from data storages.the executive Informatics System, OLAP, Data Mining
Applications of high-throughput sequencing to chromatin structure and function in mammals
High-throughput DNA sequencing approaches have enabled direct interrogation of chromatin samples from mammalian cells. We are beginning to develop a genome-wide description of nuclear function during development, but further data collection, refinement, and integration are needed
Flexible protection architectures using distributed optical sensors
In this paper we describe recent developments in flexible protection schemes that make use of passive fibre Bragg grating (FBG) based transducers for the distributed measurement of voltage and current. The technology underpinning the passive optical approach is described in detail, and both the present development and the future potential of the approach are discussed. In co-operation with Toshiba, the integration of the technique with an existing busbar protection relay is demonstrated, illustrating the flexibility offered by protection schemes that are based on the use of small, passive, multiplexable, dielectric transducers
Continuous Cold-atom Inertial Sensor with Rotation Stability
We report the operation of a cold-atom inertial sensor which continuously
captures the rotation signal. Using a joint interrogation scheme, where we
simultaneously prepare a cold-atom source and operate an atom interferometer
(AI) enables us to eliminate the dead times. We show that such continuous
operation improves the short-term sensitivity of AIs, and demonstrate a
rotation sensitivity of in a
cold-atom gyroscope of Sagnac area. We also demonstrate a
rotation stability of at s of integration time,
which establishes the record for atomic gyroscopes. The continuous operation of
cold-atom inertial sensors will enable to benefit from the full sensitivity
potential of large area AIs, determined by the quantum noise limit.Comment: 4 pages, 3 figure
Grating-Coupled Surface Plasmon Resonance (GC-SPR) Optimization for Phase-Interrogation Biosensing in a Microfluidic Chamber.
Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)-based sensors have the advantage of being label-free, enzyme-free and real-time. However, their spreading in multidisciplinary research is still mostly limited to prism-coupled devices. Plasmonic gratings, combined with a simple and cost-effective instrumentation, have been poorly developed compared to prism-coupled system mainly due to their lower sensitivity. Here we describe the optimization and signal enhancement of a sensing platform based on phase-interrogation method, which entails the exploitation of a nanostructured sensor. This technique is particularly suitable for integration of the plasmonic sensor in a lab-on-a-chip platform and can be used in a microfluidic chamber to ease the sensing procedures and limit the injected volume. The careful optimization of most suitable experimental parameters by numerical simulations leads to a 30–50% enhancement of SPR response, opening new possibilities for applications in the biomedical research field while maintaining the ease and versatility of the configuration
Wearable flexible lightweight modular RFID tag with integrated energy harvester
A novel wearable radio frequency identification (RFID) tag with sensing, processing, and decision-taking capability is presented for operation in the 2.45-GHz RFID superhigh frequency (SHF) band. The tag is powered by an integrated light harvester, with a flexible battery serving as an energy buffer. The proposed active tag features excellent wearability, very high read range, enhanced functionality, flexible interfacing with diverse low-power sensors, and extended system autonomy through an innovative holistic microwave system design paradigm that takes antenna design into consideration from the very early stages. Specifically, a dedicated textile shorted circular patch antenna with monopolar radiation pattern is designed and optimized for highly efficient and stable operation within the frequency band of operation. In this process, the textile antenna's functionality is augmented by reusing its surface as an integration platform for light-energy-harvesting, sensing, processing, and transceiver hardware, without sacrificing antenna performance or the wearer's comfort. The RFID tag is validated by measuring its stand-alone and on-body characteristics in free-space conditions. Moreover, measurements in a real-world scenario demonstrate an indoor read range up to 23 m in nonline-of-sight indoor propagation conditions, enabling interrogation by a reader situated in another room. In addition, the RFID platform only consumes 168.3 mu W, when sensing and processing are performed every 60 s
Matter-wave laser Interferometric Gravitation Antenna (MIGA): New perspectives for fundamental physics and geosciences
The MIGA project aims at demonstrating precision measurements of gravity with
cold atom sensors in a large scale instrument and at studying the associated
applications in geosciences and fundamental physics. The first stage of the
project (2013-2018) will consist in building a 300-meter long optical cavity to
interrogate atom interferometers and will be based at the low noise underground
laboratory LSBB in Rustrel, France. The second stage of the project (2018-2023)
will be dedicated to science runs and data analyses in order to probe the
spatio-temporal structure of the local gravity field of the LSBB region, a site
of high hydrological interest. MIGA will also assess future potential
applications of atom interferometry to gravitational wave detection in the
frequency band Hz hardly covered by future long baseline optical
interferometers. This paper presents the main objectives of the project, the
status of the construction of the instrument and the motivation for the
applications of MIGA in geosciences. Important results on new atom
interferometry techniques developed at SYRTE in the context of MIGA and paving
the way to precision gravity measurements are also reported.Comment: Proceedings of the 50th Rencontres de Moriond "100 years after GR",

How to estimate the differential acceleration in a two-species atom interferometer to test the equivalence principle
We propose a scheme for testing the weak equivalence principle (Universality
of Free Fall) using an atom-interferometric measurement of the local
differential acceleration between two atomic species with a large mass ratio as
test masses. A apparatus in free fall can be used to track atomic free-fall
trajectories over large distances. We show how the differential acceleration
can be extracted from the interferometric signal using Bayesian statistical
estimation, even in the case of a large mass and laser wavelength difference.
We show that this statistical estimation method does not suffer from
acceleration noise of the platform and does not require repeatable experimental
conditions. We specialize our discussion to a dual potassium/rubidium
interferometer and extend our protocol with other atomic mixtures. Finally, we
discuss the performances of the UFF test developed for the free-fall (0-g)
airplane in the ICE project (\verb"http://www.ice-space.fr"
