The Hybrid Projection Methods for Pseudocontractive, Nonexpansive Semigroup, and Monotone Mapping

    Get PDF
We modify the three-step iterative schemes to prove the strong convergence theorems by using the hybrid projection methods for finding a common element of the set of solutions of fixed points for a pseudocontractive mapping and a nonexpansive semigroup mapping and the set of solutions of a variational inequality problem for a monotone mapping in a Hilbert space under some appropriate control conditions. Our theorems extend and unify most of the results that have been proved for this class of nonlinear mappings

Let be a real reflexive and strictly convex Banach space with a uniformly Gâteaux differentiable norm. Let ={()∶≥0} be a family of uniformly asymptotically regular generalized asymptotically nonexpansive semigroup of , with functions ,∶[0,∞)→[0,∞). Let ∶=()=∩≥0(())≠∅ and ∶→ be a weakly contractive map. For some positive real numbers and satisfying +>1, let ∶→ be a -strongly accretive and -strictly pseudocontractive map. Let {} be an increasing sequence in [0,∞) with lim→∞=∞, and let {} and {} be sequences in (0,1] satisfying some conditions. Strong convergence of a viscosity iterative sequence to common fixed points of the family of uniformly asymptotically regular asymptotically nonexpansive semigroup, which also solves the variational inequality ⟨(−),(−)⟩≤0, for all ∈, is proved in a framework of a real Banach space

Iterative Algorithms for Solving the System of Mixed Equilibrium Problems, Fixed-Point Problems, and Variational Inclusions with Application to Minimization Problem

We introduce a new iterative algorithm for solving a common solution of the set of solutions of fixed point for an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings, the set of solution of a system of mixed equilibrium problems, and the set of solutions of the variational inclusion for a β-inverse-strongly monotone mapping in a real Hilbert space. We prove that the sequence converges strongly to a common element of the above three sets under some mild conditions. Furthermore, we give a numerical example which supports our main theorem in the last part

We introduce a new iterative scheme by shrinking projection method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of generalized mixed equilibrium problems, the set of common solutions of variational inclusion problems with set-valued maximal monotone mappings and inverse-strongly monotone mappings, the set of solutions of fixed points for nonexpansive semigroups, and the set of common fixed points for an infinite family of strictly pseudocontractive mappings in a real Hilbert space. We prove that the sequence converges strongly to a common element of the above four sets under some mind conditions. Furthermore, by using the above result, an iterative algorithm for solution of an optimization problem was obtained. Our results improve and extend the corresponding results of Martinez-Yanes and Xu (2006), Shehu (2011), Zhang et al. (2008), and many authors

Masters Degree. University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban. In this dissertation, we introduce a shrinking projection method of an inertial type with self-adaptive step size for finding a common element of the set of solutions of Split Gen- eralized Equilibrium Problem (SGEP) and the set of common fixed points of a countable family of nonexpansive multivalued mappings in real Hilbert spaces. The self-adaptive step size incorporated helps to overcome the difficulty of having to compute the operator norm while the inertial term accelerates the rate of convergence of the propose algorithm. Under standard and mild conditions, we prove a strong convergence theorem for the sequence generated by the proposed algorithm and obtain some consequent results. We apply our result to solve Split Mixed Variational Inequality Problem (SMVIP) and Split Minimiza- tion Problem (SMP), and present numerical examples to illustrate the performance of our algorithm in comparison with other existing algorithms. Moreover, we investigate the problem of finding common solutions of Equilibrium Problem (EP), Variational Inclusion Problem (VIP)and Fixed Point Problem (FPP) for an infinite family of strict pseudo- contractive mappings. We propose an iterative scheme which combines inertial technique with viscosity method for approximating common solutions of these problems in Hilbert spaces. Under mild conditions, we prove a strong theorem for the proposed algorithm and apply our results to approximate the solutions of other optimization problems. Finally, we present a numerical example to demonstrate the efficiency of our algorithm in comparison with other existing methods in the literature. Our results improve and complement contemporary results in the literature in this direction
