    New Stabilization of Complex Networks with Non-delayed and Delayed Couplings over Random Exchanges

    In this chapter, the stabilization problem of complex dynamical network with non-delayed and delayed couplings is realized by a new kind of stochastic pinning controller being partially delay dependent, where the topologies related to couplings may be exchanged. The designed pinning controller is different from the traditional ones, whose non-delay and delay state terms occur asynchronously with a certain probability, respectively. Sufficient conditions for the stabilization of complex dynamical network over topology exchange are derived by the robust method and are presented with liner matrix inequities (LMIs). The switching between the non-delayed and delayed couplings is modeled by the related coupling matrices containing uncertainties. It has shown that the bound of such uncertainties play very important roles in the controller design. Moreover, when the bound is inaccessible, a kind of adaptive partially delay-dependent controller is proposed to deal with this general case, where another adaptive control problem in terms of unknown probability is considered too. Finally, some numerical simulations are used to demonstrate the correctness and effectiveness of our theoretical analysis

    Pinning Cluster Synchronization in Linear Hybrid Coupled Delayed Dynamical Networks

    The problem on cluster synchronization will be investigated for a class of delayed dynamical networks based on pinning control strategy. Through utilizing the combined convex technique and Kronecker product, two sufficient conditions can be derived to ensure the desired synchronization when the designed feedback controller is employed to each cluster. Moreover, the inner coupling matrices are unnecessarily restricted to be diagonal and the controller design can be converted into solving a series of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), which greatly improve the present methods. Finally, two numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness and reduced conservatism

    Complex Projective Synchronization in Drive-Response Stochastic Complex Networks by Impulsive Pinning Control

    The complex projective synchronization in drive-response stochastic coupled networks with complex-variable systems is considered. The impulsive pinning control scheme is adopted to achieve complex projective synchronization and several simple and practical sufficient conditions are obtained in a general drive-response network. In addition, the adaptive feedback algorithms are proposed to adjust the control strength. Several numerical simulations are provided to show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed methods

    Complex partial synchronization patterns in networks of delay-coupled neurons

    We study the spatio-temporal dynamics of a multiplex network of delay-coupled FitzHugh–Nagumo oscillators with non-local and fractal connectivities. Apart from chimera states, a new regime of coexistence of slow and fast oscillations is found. An analytical explanation for the emergence of such coexisting partial synchronization patterns is given.     Consensus analysis of multiagent networks via aggregated and pinning approaches

    This is the post-print version of of the Article - Copyright @ 2011 IEEEIn this paper, the consensus problem of multiagent nonlinear directed networks (MNDNs) is discussed in the case that a MNDN does not have a spanning tree to reach the consensus of all nodes. By using the Lie algebra theory, a linear node-and-node pinning method is proposed to achieve a consensus of a MNDN for all nonlinear functions satisfying a given set of conditions. Based on some optimal algorithms, large-size networks are aggregated to small-size ones. Then, by applying the principle minor theory to the small-size networks, a sufficient condition is given to reduce the number of controlled nodes.     Impulsive mean square exponential synchronization of stochastic dynamical networks with hybrid time-varying delays

    This paper investigates the mean square exponential synchronization problem for complex dynamical networks with stochastic disturbances and hybrid time-varying delays, both internal delay and coupling delay are considered in the model. At the same time, the coupled time-delay is also probabilistic in two time interval. Impulsive control method is applied to force all nodes synchronize to a chaotic orbit, and impulsive input delay is also taken into account. Based on the theory of stochastic differential equation, an impulsive differential inequality and some analysis techniques, several simple and useful criteria are derived to ensure mean square exponential synchronization of the stochastic dynamical networks. Furthermore, pinning impulsive strategy is studied. An effective method is introduced to select the controlled nodes at each impulsive constants. Numerical simulations are exploited to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theory results in this paper
