CANCELAMENTO VARIÁVEL DAS VOGAIS [a], [i] E [u] EM POSIÇÃO ÁTONA FINAL

Este artigo analisa o cancelamento variável das vogais [a, i, u] em posição átona final no português falado na cidade de Pelotas (RS), a partir da Fonologia de Uso (BYBEE, 2001, 2006, 2010) e da Teoria de Exemplares (PIERREHUMBERT, 2001, 2003). A amostra sob análise é constituída por 8 informantes (4 homens e 4 mulheres) de dois níveis de escolaridade e idades entre 18 e 50 anos. O percentual de cancelamento na amostra analisada foi de 53% (N = 242) para a vogal [i], de 41% (N = 196) para a vogal [u] e de 0,8% (N= 4) para a vogal [a]. Os resultados indicaram que fatores como tipo de vogal, indivíduo, contexto precedente, ordem de produção e frequência lexical favorecem o cancelamento, revelando a natureza predominantemente linguística do fenômeno

The 7th International Conference of the Gruppo di Studi sulla Comunicazione Parlata, dedicated to the memory of Claire Blanche-Benveniste, chose as its main theme Speech and Corpora. The wide international origin of the 235 authors from 21 countries and 95 institutions led to papers on many different languages. The 89 papers of this volume reflect the themes of the conference: spoken corpora compilation and annotation, with the technological connected fields; the relation between prosody and pragmatics; speech pathologies; and different papers on phonetics, speech and linguistic analysis, pragmatics and sociolinguistics.
