Panjab University in pharmacy discipline ranked 2nd in NIRF-2019 rankings. The University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS) of Panjab University Chandigarh is a premier institute of pharmaceutical education and research in India. The present study attempts to analyze research output and publication trends of authors of the UIPS during 2009-2018. The study is based on the data extracted from Scopus database and mainly examines the year-wise research output, major subject-wise contributions, national and international collaborations, most preferred journals, types of publications, authorship pattern, highly cited paper, most prolific authors, keywords and citations pattern of the UIPS during the period of ten years. The study revealed that total 978 research publications have been published by the authors of the UIPS which received 15318 citations during the above said period. The highest collaborative publications (5.32%) were published with United States of America. O.P. Katare is the most prolific author publishing 145 research publications having 2057 citations. Total 88.65% research papers of the institute have been cited by other authors and 14 papers received more than 100 citations

Objectives: Analysis of advances, hotspots and frontiers of tumor-related phytochemicals by scientifc bibliometric methods during 2012-2023. Background: Natural phytochemicals are abundantly found in nature and have a wide range of biological activities. Phytochem-icals have been shown to provide both curative and preventive benefts on many chronic diseases such as cancers. Tumor research on phyto-chemicals is one of the felds with the greatest potential for expansion in the world. However, there is still much to explore about the action mechanism of phytochemicals, the efcacy and safety of application in vivo, and the value of clinical practice. Methods: Atotal of 6523 arti-cles on tumor-related phytochemicals were identifed from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database for research on tumor-re-lated phytochemicals. The bibliometric analysis was carried out using CiteSpace and the R package “Bibliometrix”. Results: The analysis includes 6523 publications from 144 nations or regions, with China leading the way. The number of annual publications increased rapidly from 2012 to 2022 and reached a maximum in 2022. China published the most articles, followed by India and the United States. There is a wide range of collaborations between countries, with Saudi Arabia and Egypt being the closest partners. LI Y has produced the most research outputs, yet Prof. Liu RH has received the most local citations. Although MOLECULES has the most articles, FOOD CHEMISTRY is the journal with the highest H-index. The main topics include phytochemical mechanisms and clinical applications in carcinogenesis and devel-opment. “Secondary metabolite”, “green synthesis”, “functional food”, and “degradation” all exhibit signifcant citation burstness between 2019-2023. Conclusions: This study is the frst to apply bibliometrics to examine the development of phytochemicals in oncology research over the period 2010-2023, which gives researchers a brief overview of advances, hotspots, and potential future trends in the feld

ANALYSIS OF LITERATURE ON DENGUE: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY

    Get PDF
Abstract: This paper analysis a literature of Dengue using bibliometric techniques, the records published during the year 2008 to 2017 in the MEDLINE data, which are covered by Pubmed. On the whole, it is observed that from 2008 onwards there is a gradual increase in research on Dengue. It was examined that 41.4% data are journal articles. It was also studied that United States is the major producer, followed by England and Netherlands in the area of Dengue literature. The literary production is observed in almost all the major countries covered. India has been ranked in the 4th position. 94.8% of the research output covered in English language and followed by Spanish, Portuguese and French. The Relative Growth Rate (RGR) has been decreased from 0.75 to 0.14 and the Doubling Time (Dt) increases from 0.92 to 5.02 in the study period. Indian efforts in Dengue research are greater in three years out of ten years of study, since the Activity Index is higher than 100, in those three years, which reflects higher activity of Dengue research than the World’s average

Bibliometrics and scientometrics in India: An overview of studies during 1995-2014Part II: Contents of the articles in terms of disciplines and their bibliometric aspects

    Get PDF
This part of the study highlights the contents of the published articles in terms of various disciplines or sub-disciplines and the bibliometric aspects discussed in these articles. The analysis of 902 papers published by Indian scholars during1995-2014 indicates that the main focus of bibliometrics/scientometrics is on assessment of science and technology in India in different sub-disciplines including contributions by Indian states and other individual countries followed by bibliometric analysis of individual journals. Papers dealing with bibliometric laws received a low priority as compared to other subdisciplines of bibliometrics/scientometrics. The analysis of data indicates that the share of theoretical studies using mathematical and statistical techniques which were missing in the earlier period (1970-1994) has increased during 1995-2014. The field of medicine as a discipline received the highest attention as compared to other disciplines

Bibliometric Study of Indian Open Access Social Science Literature

The purpose of this study is to trace out the growth and development of social science literature in open access environment published from India. Total 1195 open access papers published and indexed in Scopus database in ten years have considered for the present study. Research publication from 2008 to 2017 have been analyzed based on literature growth, authorship pattern, activity index, prolific authors and institutions, publication type, channel and citation count have examined to provide a clear picture of Indian social science research. The study shows the dominance of shared authorship and sixty percentages of total articles have been cited. This original research paper described the research productivity of social science in open access context and will be helpful to the social scientist and library professional as a whole

Berberine, a popular dietary supplement for human and animal health: Quantitative research literature analysis a review

    Get PDF
Berberine is an alkaloid with a wide range of reported beneficial health effects. The current work provides an extensive literature analysis on berberine. Bibliometric data were identified by means of the search string TOPIC=(berberin* OR umbellatine*), which yielded 5,547 publications indexed in the Web of Science Core Collection electronic database. The VOSviewer software generated bubble maps to visualize semantic terms with citation results. The ratio of original articles to reviews was 13.6:1. The literature has been growing more quickly since the 2010s. Major contributing countries were China, the United States, India, Japan, and South Korea. Most of the publications appeared in journals specialized in pharmacology pharmacy, biochemistry molecular biology, chemistry, and plant science. Some of the frequently mentioned chemicals/chemical classes were alkaloid, palmatine, jatrorrhizine, coptisine, isoquinoline, and sanguinarine. The prevalent medical conditions under investigation included Alzheimers disease, cancer, diabetes, and obesity.Acknowledge the support by the Polish KNOW (LeadingNational Research Centre) Scientific Consortium “Healthy Animal-Safe Food,” decision of Ministry of Science and Higher Education No. 05-1/KNOW2/2015 and the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund (Homing/2017-4/41).
