Walla Walla Vintners won the Gold Grand Award of Excellence at the 2012 Seattle Wine Awards for their 2009 Malbec, 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, and 2010 Cabernet Franc. The awards were granted at the 7th Annual Seattle Wine Awards, hosted by the Rainier Club

The Blockbuster Punitive Damages Awards

This paper provides an analysis of 64 punitive damages awards of at least $100 million. Based on an inventory of these cases, there is evidence that these blockbuster awards are highly concentrated geographically, as two states account for 27 of the 64 awards.The awards also have been rising substantially over time, with the majority of these blockbuster awards taking place since 1999.An assessment of the current status of the blockbuster punitive damages awards indicates that most of these awards have been appealed, but the reversal of these punitive damages awards is the exception rather than the rule.Many large punitive damages awards are settled without any appeal. The ratio limits outlined in State Farm v. Campbell will affect over 90% of the blockbuster awards and over 90% of the damages associated with these awards if a ratio of 1.0 becomes the upper limit on punitive damages.

Summary data on all NASA procurement actions and detailed information on contracts, grants, agreements, and other procurements over $25,000 awarded by NASA during the first six months on fiscal year 1990 are presented. Areas addressed include competition in NASA awards, awards to business firms, awards to educational and other nonprofit institutions, contract for operation of Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and awards through other government agencies. A New Approach to United States Enforcement of International Arbitration Awards

Pursuant to ratification of the World Bank Convention on the Settlement of Foreign Investment Disputes, the United States Congress passed the Convention on Settlement of Disputes Act of 1966, utilizing a full faith and credit approach to enforce arbitral awards rendered under the Convention. Given the likelihood of frequent requests by foreign governments for enforcement of awards against American private investors in the United States, the operation of the full faith and credit clause with respect to the enforcement of arbitration awards becomes crucial. This comment examines the issues which are presented by the congressional decision to enforce international arbitral awards through the full faith and credit clause
