BUSINESS INTELLIGENT AGENTS FOR ENTERPRISE APPLICATION
Fierce competition in a market increasingly crowded and frequent changes in consumer requirements are the main forces that will cause companies to change their current organization and management. One solution is to move to open architectures and virtual type, which requires addressing business methods and technologies using distributed multi-agent systems. Intelligent agents are one of the most important areas of artificial intelligence that deals with the development of hardware and software systems able to reason, learn to recognize natural language, speak, make decisions, to recognize objects in the working environment etc. Thus in this paper, we presented some aspects of smart business, intelligent agents, intelligent systems, intelligent systems models, and I especially emphasized their role in managing business processes, which have become highly complex systems that are in a permanent change to meet the requirements of timely decision making. Agent Technology in Supply Chains and Networks: An exploration of high potential future applications
This paper reports on an ongoing research project that\ud
is aimed at evaluating how software agents can improve\ud
performance of supply chains and networks. To conduct\ud
this evaluation, first a framework is developed to classify\ud
potential applications of software agents to supply\ud
networks. The framework was used in workshop sessions\ud
with logistics and information systems experts from\ud
industry, software/consultancy and academia to identify\ud
promising areas for agents. Based on the framework and\ud
the outcome of the workshop sessions, this paper presents\ud
promising application areas for the near future and\ud
beyond

Using Ontologies for the Design of Data Warehouses
Obtaining an implementation of a data warehouse is a complex task that forces
designers to acquire wide knowledge of the domain, thus requiring a high level
of expertise and becoming it a prone-to-fail task. Based on our experience, we
have detected a set of situations we have faced up with in real-world projects
in which we believe that the use of ontologies will improve several aspects of
the design of data warehouses. The aim of this article is to describe several
shortcomings of current data warehouse design approaches and discuss the
benefit of using ontologies to overcome them. This work is a starting point for
discussing the convenience of using ontologies in data warehouse design.Comment: 15 pages, 2 figure

language and then re-used to provide the invisibility of pervasive access; uncovering
more effective architectural models for adaptive information system strategies of this type. This exploratory work is guided in part by a vision of business intelligence that is highly distributed, mobile and fluid, adapting to sensory understanding of the underlying environment in which it operates. A proof-of concept mobile and ambient data access architecture is developed in order to further test the viability of such an approach. An intelligent recommendation system framework for student relationship management
In order to enhance student satisfaction, many services have been provided in order to meet student needs. A recommendation system is a significant service which can be used to assist students in several ways. This paper proposes a conceptual framework of an Intelligent Recommendation System in order to support Student Relationship Management (SRM) for a Thai private university. This article proposed the system architecture of an Intelligent Recommendation System (IRS) which aims to assist students to choose an appropriate course for their studies. Moreover, this study intends to compare different data mining techniques in various recommendation systems and to determine appropriate algorithms for the proposed electronic Intelligent Recommendation System (IRS). The IRS also aims to support Student Relationship Management (SRM) in the university. Evaluating the reading performance of semi-passive RFID tags to enhance locating of warehouse resources: An experiment design

It is necessary to track the real time resource location and status to support warehouse operations effectively. Therefore, RFID technology has been adopted to facilitate the collection and sharing of data in a warehouse environment. However, an essential decision should be made on the type of RFID tags the warehouse managers should adopt, because it is very important to implement RFID tags that work in warehouse environment. As a result, the warehouse resources will be easily tracked and accurately located which will improve the visibility of warehouse operations, enhance the productivity and reduce the operation costs of the warehouse. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the reading performance of all types of RFID tags in a warehouse environment in order to choose the most appropriate RFID tags which will enhance the operational efficiency of a warehouse. Reading performance of active and passive RFID tags have been evaluated before while, semi-passive RFID tag, which is battery-assisted with greater sensitivity than passive tags and cheaper than active tags, has not been examined yet in a warehouse environment. This research is in- progress research and it is aiming to perform tests for evaluating the reading performance of semi-passive RFID apparatus to provide an extensive RFID performance comparison for formulating an efficient RFID solution in warehousing environment
UAVs for Industries and Supply Chain Management
This work aims at showing that it is feasible and safe to use a swarm of
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) indoors alongside humans. UAVs are increasingly
being integrated under the Industry 4.0 framework. UAV swarms are primarily
deployed outdoors in civil and military applications, but the opportunities for
using them in manufacturing and supply chain management are immense. There is
extensive research on UAV technology, e.g., localization, control, and computer
vision, but less research on the practical application of UAVs in industry. UAV
technology could improve data collection and monitoring, enhance
decision-making in an Internet of Things framework and automate time-consuming
and redundant tasks in the industry. However, there is a gap between the
technological developments of UAVs and their integration into the supply chain.
Therefore, this work focuses on automating the task of transporting packages
utilizing a swarm of small UAVs operating alongside humans. MoCap system, ROS,
and unity are used for localization, inter-process communication and
visualization. Multiple experiments are performed with the UAVs in wander and
