This study investigated the attitudes of an English writing class towards online collaborative learning activities. A 20-item questionnaire was used to assess the students’ attitudes towards this experience. The participants of the study consisted of 55 students studying a Writing II course. There were two sections; one control and the other is experimental. The researcher investigated whether there were significant differences in the attitudes of the students pertaining to, group (experimental vs. control), gender, grade (GPA), access to the Internet and anxiety. The results indicated that the experimental group held positive attitudes towards the online collaborative learning experience. Moreover, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences between anxious learners and the learners who do not have anxiety towards online collaborative activities. In addition, students who had regular access to the Internet had better attitudes for the online collaborative activities. However, no statistically significant differences were revealed regarding the grade of the students. This means that low achievers and advanced learners held similar attitudes towards the online experience. Finally, no statistically significant differences were shown based on gender

Thus, this study aims to examine the factor impacting of behavioral intention and behavior of postgraduates in their use of MOOCs in Sichuan. The key constructs are self-efficacy, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude, behavioral intention, subjective norm, and behavior. Research design, data, and methodology: This study applied a quantitative approach to distributing questionnaires to 500 postgraduates using MOOCs at Sichuan University. The sampling techniques are judgmental, convenience, and snowball sampling. The content validity was verified by the item-objective congruence (IOC) index, and the reliability test was employed by Cronbach alpha through a pilot test (n=50). In addition, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) were analyzed. Results: Self-efficacy has a significant impact on perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use significantly impact attitude. Attitude and subjective norms significantly impact behavioral intention toward behavior. On the contrary, this study found a non-supported relationship between perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. Conclusions: Educators should seek ways to improve students’ motivations and MOOCs’ system to be more efficient, considering key factors impacting the use behavior

Looks at the historical and philosophical roots of the reasoning and defines the induction as the most popular style of reasoning. Discusses the problem of induction and its complexities through an example. Explains one of the solutions provided for the problem of induction; i.e. the falsifiability theory. Defines the falsifiability theory and concentrates on an ongoing argument among information professionals. Survival of the print book, as an inductive belief, is what this article tries to analyze and gauge. Through an all-inclusive literature review, viewpoints of the pros and cons of this inductive belief are discussed; and much number of evidences is provided for the death of the print book. Concludes that the survival of the print book belief is falsified and liberal information professionals should be trained to press e-book publishers to develop their products

The present study aims to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of e-learning which includes the widespread use of e-books. Therefore, the authors conducted a pilot study on (55) faculty members from various disciplines, they assured the importance of e-books in education and the need for them. Accordingly, the authors designed and published their book "Education Technology: Foundations and Applications" as an interactive application on apps platforms by using a design model that was developed by the authors, and by adopting a list of (28) standards divided into four domains to ensure the quality of the design and development of the e-book according to educational and technological standards. Thereafter, female students’ perceptions of the effectiveness of e-books and their self-efficacy in using it were identified by (44) female students of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. The results indicate that the students have the basic skills necessary to download and read e-books and take advantage of its characteristics, additionally, they believe in its usefulness and are satisfied with it as they intend to continue using e-books in the future. The success of using any types of technology in education depends on a large extent of the acceptance of information technology (IT) by students. Therefore, understanding the factors influencing the acceptance of electronic book (e-book) is essential for decision-makers and those interested in the e-book industry. Based on an extended technology acceptance model (TAM), this paper examines the impact of some factors on the students' behavioural intention (BI) toward adoption of the e-book in mathematics and statistics. This paper also investigates the effect of gender differences on the relationship between the factors affecting the acceptance of e-book. A self-administered survey was used to collect data from 392 mathematics and statistics undergraduate students. The research model has shown that the factors related to the social factor and users' characteristics are the critical factors that affect the acceptance of the e-book. The results also indicated that perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU) and students' attitude (AU) have strongly affected students' BI. Self-efficacy (SE) has a significant impact on PEOU while social influence (SI) has a significant influence on students' AU. Moreover, the results confirmed that most of the TAM constructs were significant in both models (males and females), where there are no differences between males and females; however, only PEOU has been affected by the gender moderator. The results showed that the impact of the factor of SI on females was more than males. On the other hand, female students were more confident in the use of the e-book than males. In general, the female students' model was more powerful in explaining the variance than males' model

Tesi

Online Collaborative Learning (OCL) is very prominent nowadays. Even though OCL is utilized all over the globe, there are still limitations in evaluating the factors influencing intention to use tools and technologies of online collaborative learning, especially in Malaysia. This study aimed to investigate factors affecting the intention to use Wikis for OCL through the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) has been adopted in designing the theoretical framework for the study. This framework is applied to examine the significant differences between level of study related to factors affecting the intention to use Wikis namely the performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, the features of OCL and intention to use. A survey was used to collect usable data from 233 undergraduate students in a Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was used as the technique for data analysis. The results show that all construct was significant predictors of intention to use Wikis. Overall, the proposed model achieves an acceptable fit and explains its variance for 66% of sample. The implications of the study‟s findings for practice and research are discussed, and avenues for future research outlined
