This paper adds to the evidence of the efficacy of intelligent tutoring systems (ITS) in mathematics learning by evaluating a large-scale intervention at the state of Aguascalientes, Mexico. We report the results of a quasi-experimental study, addressing at the same a particular request of the decision-makers responsible for the rollout to provide, from early stages of the intervention, independent evidence of the efficacy of Math-Whizz Tutor beyond its internal metrics, and recommendations in terms of the expected weekly usage levels to guide the blended learning approach

Artificial intelligence (AI) programs that simulate interactive human conversation, known as Chatbots, are one of the ongoing trends in the global market. Companies adopt Chatbots in order to offer better services to their customers. Businesses have realized that they are able to enhance the process of customer engagement and operational efficiency through Chatbot technology. Furthermore, most of us have experienced communication of this form in many aspects of our everyday life. This paper examines how Chatbots have evolved over the years, what the advantages and disadvantages of using them are and tries to explain the rise taking place nowadays. Subsequently, it explores the potential of applying this technology in educational settings. Personalized and adaptive learning seems to be imperative today and Chatbot technology can offer invaluable services towards that direction. Finally, it investigates the possibility of using them as virtual teaching assistants relieving teachers from the burden of repetitive tasks and helping them focus more on providing quality education to their students

Perceived Benefits of Learning Analytics and Artificial Intelligence-Based Oniline Learning Platforms: Case of Lithuanian General Education Schools

Online learning platforms with integrated tools of learning analytics (LA) and artificial intelligence (AI) are growing in popularity in general education in Lithuania. Such platforms have a number of advantages in terms of the teaching-learning process, however, there is a lack of research about such advantages after direct use of the platforms in general education schools. Thus, the purpose of the current study is to find out the perceived benefits of online learning platforms with LA and AI tools. The research was conducted in 11 schools in Lithuania. The students at these schools tested the LearnLab and Eduten Playground online learning platforms for almost three months. Descriptive statistics methods and chi-square (χ2) criteria were applied. Results showed that students claim that their learning achievements have improved thanks to the platforms. Moreover, research results showed, that when working with platforms, it is appropriate to pay attention and, in parallel, to teach students computer literacy from the elementary grades, to develop a relationship with the computer as a work tool. It is also appropriate to start working with LA and AI platforms from the primary grades, which would positively stimulate the growth of digital competence, as well as the interest of students in the educational subject(s) and the positive growth of learning achievements

This research aims to comprehensively investigate and explain the important role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the field of education, with a particular focus on vocational education. Using the systematic literature review (SLR) method as the chosen research approach, the researchers carefully scrutinized a selection of articles published in the time span between 2018 to 2023, which were carefully selected from the Scopus database. The PRISMA method, renowned for its precision, was carefully applied to screen and filter out documents that did not fit the strict inclusion and exclusion criteria outlined for the study. Upon examination and review of the selected articles, an interesting pattern emerged, underscoring the considerable impact and transformative potential of AI in the education sector, with a particular emphasis on vocational education. The advent of AI technologies has ushered in a new era, one that is brimming with potential to revolutionize and enhance the teaching-learning experience in educational settings. It is quite clear that a thoughtful and strategic implementation of AI promises to improve the efficiency, personalization, and overall effectiveness of education, thus paving the way for a brighter and more adaptive educational landscape
