    The DeepThought Core Architecture Framework

    Get PDF
The research performed in the DeepThought project aims at demonstrating the potential of deep linguistic processing if combined with shallow methods for robustness. Classical information retrieval is extended by high precision concept indexing and relation detection. On the basis of this approach, the feasibility of three ambitious applications will be demonstrated, namely: precise information extraction for business intelligence; email response management for customer relationship management; creativity support for document production and collective brainstorming. Common to these applications, and the basis for their development is the XML-based, RMRS-enabled core architecture framework that will be described in detail in this paper. The framework is not limited to the applications envisaged in the DeepThought project, but can also be employed e.g. to generate and make use of XML standoff annotation of documents and linguistic corpora, and in general for a wide range of NLP-based applications and research purposes

IGUANA Architecture, Framework and Toolkit for Interactive Graphics

IGUANA is a generic interactive visualisation framework based on a C++ component model. It provides powerful user interface and visualisation primitives in a way that is not tied to any particular physics experiment or detector design. The article describes interactive visualisation tools built using IGUANA for the CMS and D0 experiments, as well as generic GEANT4 and GEANT3 applications. It covers features of the graphical user interfaces, 3D and 2D graphics, high-quality vector graphics output for print media, various textual, tabular and hierarchical data views, and integration with the application through control panels, a command line and different multi-threading models.Comment: Presented at the 2003 Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics (CHEP03), La Jolla, Ca, USA, March 2003, 6 pages LaTeX, 4 eps figures. Knowledge Architecture Framework based on Zachmans Enterprise Architecture Framework

    Get PDF
During the last fifteen years, knowledge management has changed through new perspectives and enhancements from generation to generation. Numerous researchers have presented research methodologies, frameworks and technologies and have discussed various theoretical and practical knowledge management issues. However, knowledge management is still in need of improvement and has not yet reached its maturity. This paper assesses the common research grounds between knowledge management and Zachmans enterprise architecture framework. Applied research is carried out using descriptive surveys. Information was gathered by using questionnaires filled out by knowledge management and enterprise architecture experts. Finally, a knowledge architecture framework was designed according to Zachmans framework

An Integrated Enterprise Architecture Framework for Business-IT Alignment

    Get PDF
When different businesses want to integrate part of their processes and IT, they need to relate their enterprise architecture frameworks. An enterprise architecture framework (EAF) is a conceptual framework for describing the architecture of a business and its information technology (IT), and their alignment. In this paper we provide an integration among some well-known EAFs (Zachman, Four-domain, TOGAF and RM-ODP) and produce an integrated EAF (IEAF) that can be used as common framework to communicate about EAFs of differrent businesses and relate them to each other

    A SOA-Based Architecture Framework

    Get PDF
In this paper we present first results of a SOA-based architecture framework. The architecture framework is required to be close to industry standards, especially to service component architecture (SCA), language independent (i.e. it is adoptable) and the building blocks of a system, activities and data, are first class citizens. We present a meta model of the architecture framework and discuss its concepts in detail

We present an Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)– based architecture framework. The architecture framework is designed to be close to industry standards, especially to the Service Component Architecture (SCA). The framework is language independent and the building blocks of each system, activities and data, are first class citizens. We present a meta model of the architecture framework and discuss its concepts in detail. Through the framework, concepts of an SOA such as wiring, correlation and instantiation can be clarifie

An ontology-based MDA framework for service-based software systems architecting

    Get PDF
Model-driven Architecture (MDA) is a software architecture framework proposed by the Object Management Group OMG. MDA emphasises the importance of modelling in the architectural design of software systems. Ontologies are can enhance the modelling aspects here. We present a layered MDA-based modelling approach. We focus on servicebased software and the Web Services platform
