Integrative of Perceived Management Support on Information Technology Innovativeness

    Get PDF
Government Information Technology Innovativeness defined as notion of openness to new information technology ideas in the government as an aspect of an organizational culture. In adopting the information technology innovativeness, management support plays a crucial effect. Misunderstood organizational characteristic within information technology innovativeness may generate unrealistic or inaccurate outcomes. Unfortunately, the effect of organizational context is nearly ignored in information technology innovativeness literature. In response, using the Resources based view (RBV) and Diffusion-Innovation-Theory (DIT), this paper argues on the interaction between the influence of organizational characteristic (management support), so as to explain information technology innovativeness. This proposition could improve understanding the information technology innovativeness and help to resolve inconsistency of findings in the literature. Get PDF
In a fully dynamic web services implementation, business processes are supported by allocating the underlying information processing tasks to many inter-operating service modules, each of which would be procured over the Internet from an on-line market for web services. In this research we propose to investigate the web services adoption phenomena from three different perspectives viz. business process outsourcing, innovation adoption, and web-based commerce. We use the ‘technology-push and need-pull’ framework and integrate it with dynamic outsourcing and web-based commerce factors to get the richer and deeper insight into the WS adoption phenomenon

Several studies show that often IT projects are not successful in being on-time, on-budget and include full functionality. There can be multiple causes for this, and an important factor in this context is the extent to which a company is ready for an IT project. To help understand this aspect, this paper presents a framework for analyzing the \u27IT readiness\u27 in SMEs (small and medium sized enterprises). The framework defines IT readiness with a basis in three overall dimensions (company, management, and employees), which are subdivided into different characteristics. To illustrate the framework a case study of a Danish SME is presented. Furthermore, the paper discusses how to improve the IT readiness of a company

    Get PDF
Despite the growing importance of digital innovation to achieve better performance, empirical studies examining different factors that affect digital innovation within organizations are scarce. Further, the findings of existing studies are inconsistent, leading to a knowledge gap within the context. Thus, this research focused on identifying the critical success factors affecting digital innovation from managerial and organizational perspectives. The literature review revealed four factors affecting digital innovation. A new conceptual framework was designed to test the relationships identified, and it was tested using survey data collected from 135 managerial-level employees of organizations that are engaged in digital innovation processes in Sri Lanka. Data were analyzed using the PLS-SEM approach. The findings revealed that top management support and organizational learning had a positive and significant effect on digital innovation. Since there is a dearth of research in the context of digital innovation, the conceptual framework introduced and the findings of the study will encourage organizations to understand and leverage the determinants necessary to foster digital innovation within organizations

    Get PDF
Taking into account the contingency theory, this paper explores the extent to which key project management improvement initiatives and key embedding factors, identified in a previously developed conceptual framework, are dependent on organizational context, namely sector of activity, organization size, geographic area and project types. Therefore, aiming to guide professionals on making use of such framework in their organizations. Statistically significant contextual correlations were looked for in a worldwide sample of 793 questionnaire responses from project management professionals, using Principal Component Analysis, ANOVA test and post-hoc Tukey test. Context related differences found were limited, suggesting that the framework for improving and embedding project management practice is substantially generic. Therefore, the paper shows the explanatory power of the framework, which can be used by any organization independent of its sector of activity, dimension, geographic area and project types, however indicating the existence of slight differences. For example, Information Technology companies might give more relevance to initiatives such as corporate standardization and tailoring of project management processes tools and techniques than Engineering and Construction companies

Information System literature has identified several factors that impact the adoption and implementation of IT. This study presents a meta-analysis of the findings of past literature on IT adoption to verify the significance of competitive pressure, government support, external pressure, CEO attitude, manager’s tenure, CEO innovativeness and CEO IT knowledge in the adoption of IT in organizations. The study found that except for manager’s tenure, all attributes had considerable influence on the adoption of IT. Amongst the factors considered, external pressure or the demands from the trading partners and potential customers were found to be most influential in the adoption process. The study also examined the effect of two moderating conditions for the relationship between the attributes and IT adoption
