A novel generic distributed intelligent re-configurable mobile network architecture
In this paper we present our vision of the Software Radio (SR) concept. To the author's knowledge this vision of an Intelligent Re-configurable Network encompasses and adds to the main SR concepts presented to date, namely SWSDR, Re-configurable radio systems and networks, and Cognitive radio. The newly proposed architecture and supporting technology provides a flexible way to introduce re-configurability into any network node and protocol layer of a network fixed or mobile, while simultaneously providing a
structured framework in which re-configurability can be
introduced and hence networks can evolve. This concept
has provided a solid foundation and plays a central role
in providing a suitable context in which to examine reconfigurabilty issues in the Mobile Terminal and Base
Station. We believe that this concept has the potential
to help the telecommunications industry in facilitating;
the introduction, development and harmonization of
reconfigurability within existing and future fixed and
mobile networks

meaning. At the low layer, from the technical perspective, PCS is a 2G mobile
communication technology operating at the 1900 MHz frequency range. At the upper
layer, PCS is often used as an umbrella term that includes various wireless access and
personal mobility services with the ultimate goal of enabling users to freely communicate
with anyone at anytime and anywhere according to their demand. Ubiquitous PCS can be implemented by integrating the wireless and wireline systems on the basis of intelligent network (IN), which provides network functions of terminal and personal mobility. In this chapter, we focus on various aspects of PCS except location management. First we describe the motivation and technological evolution for personal communications. Then we introduce three key issues related to PCS: spectrum allocation, mobility, and standardization efforts. Since PCS involves several different communication
technologies, we introduce its heterogeneous and distributed system architecture. IN is
also described in detail because it plays a critical role in the development of PCS. Finally, we introduce the application of PCS and its deployment status since the mid-term of 1990’s.This work was supported in part by the National Natural Science Foundation of China

Towards NFC payments using a lightweight architecture for the Web of Things
The Web (and Internet) of Things has seen the rapid emergence of new protocols and standards, which provide for innovative models of interaction for applications. One such model fostered by the Web of Things (WoT) ecosystem is that of contactless interaction between devices. Near Field Communication (NFC) technology is one such enabler of contactless interactions. Contactless technology for the WoT requires all parties to agree one common definition and implementation and, in this paper, we propose a new lightweight architecture for the WoT, based on RESTful approaches. We show how the proposed architecture supports the concept of a mobile wallet, enabling users to make secure payments employing NFC technology with their mobile devices. In so doing, we argue that the vision of the WoT is brought a step closer to fruition
