    Get PDF
Due to the cost of inertial navigation and visual navigation equipment and lake of satellite navigation signals, they cannot be used in large‐scale underground mining environment. To solve this problem, this study proposes large‐scale underground 3D real‐time positioning method with seam height assistance. This method uses the ultrawide band positioning base station as the core and is combined with seam height information to build a factor graph confidence transfer model to realise3D positioning. The simulation results show that the proposed real‐time method is superior to the existing algorithms in positioning accuracy and can meet the needs of large‐scale underground users

Resilient provision of Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) data can be considered as a key element of the e-Navigation strategy developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). An indication of reliability has been identified as a high level user need with respect to PNT data to be supplied by electronic navigation means. The paper concentrates on the Fault Detection and Exclusion (FDE) component of the Integrity Monitoring (IM) for navigation systems based both on pure GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) as well as on hybrid GNSS/inertial measurements. Here a PNT-data processing Unit will be responsible for both the integration of data provided by all available on-board sensors as well as for the IM functionality. The IM mechanism can be seen as an instantaneous decision criterion for using or not using the system and, therefore, constitutes a key component within a process of provision of reliable navigational data in future navigation systems. The performance of the FDE functionality is demonstrated for a pure GNSS-based snapshot weighted iterative least-square (WLS) solution, a GNSS-based Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) as well as for a classical error-state tightly-coupled EKF for the hybrid GNSS/inertial system. Pure GNSS approaches are evaluated by combining true measurement data collected in port operation scenario with artificially induced measurement faults, while for the hybrid navigation system the measurement data in an open sea scenario with native GNSS measurement faults have been employed. The work confirms the general superiority of the recursive Bayesian scheme with FDE over the snapshot algorithms in terms of fault detection performance even for the case of GNSS-only navigation. Finally, the work demonstrates a clear improvement of the FDE schemes over non-FDE approaches when the FDE functionality is implemented within a hybrid integrated navigation system

AbstractThis paper presents a real-time WDS hydraulic model combining with field measurements provided by supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA). The system is composed of three parts, namely SCADA, state estimation server and client terminal. For the real-time demand estimation, a weighted least-squares scheme based recursive state estimator and local linear matrix transform algorithm are applied. The WDS model system is applied in Guangzhou city, which is one of the largest cities in China, and proves that the proposed nodal demand correction algorithms are effective for real-time WDS model

Novel passive localization algorithm based on double side matrix-restricted total least squares

    Get PDF
AbstractIn order to solve the bearings-only passive localization problem in the presence of erroneous observer position, a novel algorithm based on double side matrix-restricted total least squares (DSMRTLS) is proposed. First, the aforementioned passive localization problem is transferred to the DSMRTLS problem by deriving a multiplicative structure for both the observation matrix and the observation vector. Second, the corresponding optimization problem of the DSMRTLS problem without constraint is derived, which can be approximated as the generalized Rayleigh quotient minimization problem. Then, the localization solution which is globally optimal and asymptotically unbiased can be got by generalized eigenvalue decomposition. Simulation results verify the rationality of the approximation and the good performance of the proposed algorithm compared with several typical algorithms

In this paper, the design and implementation of a novel recursive method for the power measurement ac-cording to the IEEE Standard 1459-2010 have been described. The most important parts are adaptive band and low-pass FIR filters that extract fundamental and dc components, respectively. In addition, by using oversampling techniques and decimation filters, coefficient sensitivity problems of the large-order FIR comb cascade structure are overridden and the parameter estimation accuracy is improved. The symmetrical components are estimated through a transformation matrix of adaptive phase shifters. The effectiveness of the proposed techniques is demonstrated by simulation results

A New Regularized Adaptive Windowed Lomb Periodogram for Time-Frequency Analysis of Nonstationary Signals With Impulsive Components

This paper proposes a new class of windowed Lomb periodogram (WLP) for time-frequency analysis of nonstationary signals, which may contain impulsive components and may be nonuniformly sampled. The proposed methods significantly extend the conventional Lomb periodogram in two aspects: 1) The nonstationarity problem is addressed by employing the weighted least squares (WLS) to estimate locally the time-varying periodogram and an intersection of confidence interval technique to adaptively select the window sizes of WLS in the time-frequency domain. This yields an adaptive WLP (AWLP) having a better tradeoff between time resolution and frequency resolution. 2) A more general regularized maximum-likelihood-type (M-) estimator is used instead of the LS estimator in estimating the AWLP. This yields a novel M-estimation-based regularized AWLP method which is capable of reducing estimation variance, accentuating predominant time-frequency components, restraining adverse influence of impulsive components, and separating impulsive components. Simulation results were conducted to illustrate the advantages of the proposed method over the conventional Lomb periodogram in adaptive time-frequency resolution, sparse representation for sinusoids, robustness to impulsive components, and applicability to nonuniformly sampled data. Moreover, as the computation of the proposed method at each time sample and frequency is independent of others, parallel computing can be conveniently employed without much difficulty to significantly reduce the computational time of our proposed method for real-time applications. The proposed method is expected to find a wide range of applications in instrumentation and measurement and related areas. Its potential applications to power quality analysis and speech signal analysis are also discussed and demonstrated.published_or_final_versio
