    Get PDF
E-Banking is now a well know phenomenon in the industry and amongst the banking users in Pakistan. This paper addresses the issues encountered and lessons derived by largest Pakistani bank while developing its e-banking capabilities. The paper explores some burning issues hindering key decisions of shifting to e-banking, e-banking delivery channel choice, enticing customers, and managing e-channel conflict to be made by bank. The findings indicated that the obstacles related to e banking customer location, customer satisfaction and the Bank’s software’s and communication infrastructure capabilities are influential factors in motivating the decision for shifting to a high-tech bank. The bank's E-channel choice is influenced by competence of application and software technologies that the bank acquires and the nature of diffusion of information and communications among its stakeholders. Technological development in Banking practices and awareness in customers due to presence of foreign and domestic banks in Pakistani financial market influenced the Master Bank to switch over to complete automated banking system. The sophistication of ebanking services and the further rapid improvement appears to influence strategies to entice E-channel conflict issues. The paper concludes by suggesting the Bank to optimally utilize its resources by deploying efficient applications and software’s and third party alliances and partnerships required to offer customized technology enabled banking services and develop appropriate e-banking risk mitigation strategies that bring the bank into a win-win position

The present research is aimed at determining if there is significant relationship between alliance orientation strategy and performance of Nigerian public univerisities. In testing the relationships, data were collected from five hundred and eleven academic leaders of thirteen (13) public universities in northwestern part of Nigeria, through drop and pick questionnaires. Data were analyzed using partial least square structural equation modeling. The results reveal significant and positive relationship between alliance orientation and performance of Nigerian public univerisities. These findings emphasize the importance of adopting the partnering and alliance oriented strategies among the public universities in Nigeria, for their success and these would help in gaining competitive advantage over others and reap higher performance. They could also anticipate future threats and seek out opportunities for further expansions in their activities. Conclusion and future research direction is provided toward increase in university performance

. Science and Technology Parks (STPs) have generated a thriving debate among academics, practitioners and policy makers on their effectiveness as instruments of innovation policy. Meanwhile, the relationship between factors including the actors involved in the implementation of STP became an obstacle. The strategic alliance is one of the management approaches that can be used to answer the question. The purpose of this study was to analyze the impact of the implementation of the strategic alliance and its influence on the performance of C-STP, and examines the relationship between organizations resource availability and absorptive capacity as well as type of alliances with organizational performance. Collecting data in this study using a questionnaire with 32 respondents were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that collaboration and partnership is a factor to be considered to enhance the capabilities and performance of C-STP. Meanwhile, C-STP need to increase their efforts in improving internal resources is a source of competitive advantage in order to achieve superior business performance

Organizations are realizing the strategic importance of technology alliances to enhance and maintain their competitive advantage. The turbulent business environment compels firms to adopt appropriate technologies for effective and efficient operations. While many firms are inclined to source external technology or form alliances, there are various considerations that can affect the success of such initiatives. This study examines the relationship between factors enabling strategic technology alliances (STAs), technology transfer and organizational performance. Based on three theories namely: Resource-based View (RBV); Organizational Learning Theory (OLT); and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), this paper presents a model on the antecedent and outcomes of STA that is analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings depict that absorptive capacity, type of alliances; relative advantage and perceived ease of technology implementation affect the alliance, which in turn determine organizational performance. Further tests show that technology transfer only partially mediates the relationship between STA and organizational performance. This research provides platforms and consideration for the implementation of new technologies and capabilities in manufacturing firms in a developing nation

Organizations are constantly searching for strategic methods in order to stay competitive. This paper examines the relationship between organizations’ resource availability and absorptive capacity as well as type of alliances with organizational performance. A total of 2,500 Malaysian manufacturers were surveyed resulting in 335 of usable responses were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The result establishes that Malaysian manufacturers need to increase their efforts in increasing internal resources that are the source of competitive advantage in order to achieve superior manufacturing performance

Innovation is the characteristic function of the company's resources. A technologically efficient collaboration, with support from other partners, significantly develops and improves technological capabilities as well as product innovation performance. Both from a local and regional perspective, in knowledge-based economies, innovation is defined as a particularly important pillar. Logically, innovation is not feasible without a well-informed leader: If the latter is not anticipating new ideas and new implementation techniques to face the rapidly changing environment, subordinates will not certainly be. This raises the importance of leadership in the innovation process in SMEs. To ensure their competitiveness globally, SMEs must enjoy effective leadership which is unanimously regarded as a transformational one. Consequently, it is this type exactly that will be considered throughout this article. This paper uses secondary data sources to address the topic and its impact. It ends up by focusing on the importance of leadership in creating and communicating a clear vision toward adopting innovation as an important survival strategy in the long run

Capacidad de innovación de proceso y desempeño innovador: efecto mediador de la capacidad de innovación de producto

Although in recent years, investment and the use of resources in R&D by the private sector has increased, the number of innovative companies per se has dropped dramatically in Colombia. However, the studies that have been carried out to analyze this paradox, have only demonstrated the limited positive effects of process innovation capability (IC) on innovation performance (IP). Therefore, the aim of this paper is to determine the mediating effect of product IC on the relationship between process IC and IP, based on a sample of manufacturing firms. Structural equation modeling was used with the method of least squares and a bootstrap-percentile analysis was performed to check the existence of mediation. The results showed that there is a partial mediation.
