Context-driven progressive enhancement of mobile web applications: a multicriteria decision-making approach

Personal computing has become all about mobile and embedded devices. As a result, the adoption rate of smartphones is rapidly increasing and this trend has set a need for mobile applications to be available at anytime, anywhere and on any device. Despite the obvious advantages of such immersive mobile applications, software developers are increasingly facing the challenges related to device fragmentation. Current application development solutions are insufficiently prepared for handling the enormous variety of software platforms and hardware characteristics covering the mobile eco-system. As a result, maintaining a viable balance between development costs and market coverage has turned out to be a challenging issue when developing mobile applications. This article proposes a context-aware software platform for the development and delivery of self-adaptive mobile applications over the Web. An adaptive application composition approach is introduced, capable of autonomously bypassing context-related fragmentation issues. This goal is achieved by incorporating and validating the concept of fine-grained progressive application enhancements based on a multicriteria decision-making strategy

Time, tide and narrative: adapting chronology in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World

This paper is concerned with the 2003 film Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, and with the book – or more accurately – books from which it is adapted. The film’s source material comes from novelist Patrick O’Brian who, between 1969 and his death in 2000, wrote 20 completed novels, plus one unfinished work. While no single text manifests a glaring temporal anomaly, taken as a whole it is apparent that numerous factors including the age of characters, aspects of their backstory, and especially the cumulative duration of several epic sea journeys do not cohere. It is not the object of this paper to treat this distortion as a failure. Rather, it is to focus on how the single screen adaptation engages with this aspect of its literary predecessors

A Review on the Development of Fuzzy Classifiers with Improved Interpretability and Accuracy Parameters

This review paper of fuzzy classifiers with improved interpretability and accuracy param-eter discussed the most fundamental aspect of very effective and powerful tools in form of probabilistic reasoning, The fuzzy logic concept allows the effective realization of ap-proximate, vague, uncertain, dynamic, and more realistic conditions, which is closer to the actual physical world and human thinking. The fuzzy theory has the competency to catch the lack of preciseness of linguistic terms in a speech of natural language. The fuzzy theory provides a more significant competency to model humans like com-mon-sense reasoning and conclusion making to fuzzy set and rules as good membership function. Also, in this paper reviews discussed the evaluation of the fuzzy set, type-1, type-2, and interval type-2 fuzzy system from traditional Boolean crisp set logic along with interpretability and accuracy issues in the fuzzy system
