Multiple criteria decision-making KEMIRA-M method for solution of location alternatives

    Get PDF
Choice of location in many cases is a key factor setting up a new business object. In this article the KEMIRA-M method is proposed to establish priority of criteria and determine criteria weights. Weighted sum of criteria values was applied for ranking the alternatives. This technique is useful if the evaluation criteria naturally consist of several logically explained groups of criteria. Method requires much less initial information and is based upon searching the solution of optimisation problem. KEMIRA-M is applied for the case study of construction site for non-hazardous waste incineration plant in Vilnius City

VIKOR Technique:A Systematic Review of the State of the Art Literature on Methodologies and Applications

The main objective of this paper is to present a systematic review of the VlseKriterijuska Optimizacija I Komoromisno Resenje (VIKOR) method in several application areas such as sustainability and renewable energy. This study reviewed a total of 176 papers, published in 2004 to 2015, from 83 high-ranking journals; most of which were related to Operational Research, Management Sciences, decision making, sustainability and renewable energy and were extracted from the “Web of Science and Scopus” databases. Papers were classified into 15 main application areas. Furthermore, papers were categorized based on the nationalities of authors, dates of publications, techniques and methods, type of studies, the names of the journals and studies purposes. The results of this study indicated that more papers on VIKOR technique were published in 2013 than in any other year. In addition, 13 papers were published about sustainability and renewable energy fields. Furthermore, VIKOR and fuzzy VIKOR methods, had the first rank in use. Additionally, the Journal of Expert Systems with Applications was the most significant journal in this study, with 27 publications on the topic. Finally, Taiwan had the first rank from 22 nationalities which used VIKOR technique

The Location Selection For New Urban Area; A Case Study Real Estate Business New Location In Phnom Penh Based On Ahp Method

Urban planning and location selection for new urban area has become the challenging issues. Selection of best potential location for new urban area development allows the socio-economic benefits of urbanization providing vibrant and livable urban spaces. The study aims to determine the criteria for selecting new location for urban areas in Phnom Penh, Capital city of Cambodia. It also identified and selected the alternative area that has higher potential for new urban area using AHP method. Five main criteria and three areas in Phnom Penh were selected with the in-depth interview from nine experts from nine real estate companies and two experts from ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction. With the structured questionnaires, data were also collected from 12 experts. The AHP method selected alternative 2 (CHROUY CHANGVAR ) as the best location for new urban area. Amongst the main criteria, it showed that Political factors is the most importance factors with the weight of (42.2%). It was followed by Locational factors (26.7), Demographic factors (18.6%), Neighbor factors (7.2%) and Environmental factors (5.3%). These results can be used for planning new location selection for new urban and cities

Symmetric and Asymmetric Data in Solution Models

This book is a Printed Edition of the Special Issue that covers research on symmetric and asymmetric data that occur in real-life problems. We invited authors to submit their theoretical or experimental research to present engineering and economic problem solution models that deal with symmetry or asymmetry of different data types. The Special Issue gained interest in the research community and received many submissions. After rigorous scientific evaluation by editors and reviewers, seventeen papers were accepted and published. The authors proposed different solution models, mainly covering uncertain data in multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) problems as complex tools to balance the symmetry between goals, risks, and constraints to cope with the complicated problems in engineering or management. Therefore, we invite researchers interested in the topics to read the papers provided in the book

DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW HYBRID MULTI CRITERIA DECISION-MAKING METHOD FOR A CAR SELECTION SCENARIO

Increasing competition in the automobile industry has led to a vast variety of choices when buying a car thus making car selection a tedious task. The objective of this research is to develop a new hybrid multi-criteria decision-making technique, with accuracy greater than that of the already existing methods, in order to help the people in decision-making while buying a car. Hence, considering a broader spectrum, this study aims at easing the process of multi-criteria decision-making problems in different fields. To achieve the objective, seven different alternatives were evaluated with respect to the enlisted evaluation criteria, which were selected after analyzing the secondary data obtained from Pak wheels based on style, fuel economy, price, comfort and performance. These criteria were then analyzed using the proposed Full Consistency Fuzzy TOPSIS method. As the name tells, this method is a unique combination of two techniques. The Full Consistency method is used to calculate the weights of the criteria while the Fuzzy TOPSIS approach is applied to rank the alternatives according to their scores in the selected criteria. The outcomes demonstrate an increase in the consistency ratio of the weight coefficients due to which the ranking of the alternatives by the FCF-TOPSIS is more accurate than the TOPSIS and the Analytical Hierarchy Process. The novelty of the method lies in the fact that this combination has not been used for an alternative selection scenario before. In addition to this, it can be used in various industries where a choice between the available alternatives arises based on a set of evaluation criteria

A NEW HYBRID MCDM MODEL COMBINING DANP WITH VIKOR FOR THE SELECTION OF LOCATION - REAL ESTATE BROKERAGE SERVICES

[[abstract]]Real estate brokerage services have developed from individual stores into a chain-store system, and the location of those stores plays a key role in their operation. The purpose of this study is to define and quantify the factors that affect the selection of a site for real estate brokerage services. Mutual relationships between the factors and sub-factors for site selection and their relative weights are also discussed to provide a complete set of decision evaluation models, then how to reduce the gaps to achieve the aspiration level. This research uses a new hybrid Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) model, combining the Decision Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL), DEMATEL-based Analytic Network Process (DANP), and VIšekriterijumsko KOmpromisno Rangiranje (VIKOR) methods to solve these problems. The DEMATEL technique is used to build an influential network relations map, and DANP is expected to obtain the influential weights using the basic concept of Analytic Network Process (ANP), to solve the dependence and feedback problems in the real world. Then, the VIKOR method is used to integrate the performance gaps from criteria to dimensions and overall. As the result shows, there is an interactive and auto-feedback relationship among the four dimensions. Among the 11 evaluation criteria, the income and consumption level is the most important consideration for selection of the site. The number and density of population ranks second in this regard. This study uses VIKOR method for selection of the best site, among three potential sites. Site A is closest to the aspiration level. Site A is better in this regard than the other two sites. The study develops and provides a decision-making system for the site selection in the real estate brokerage services.[[incitationindex]]SCI[[booktype]]紙
