    MPKMS: a Matrix-based Pairwise Key Management Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks

    Due to the sensitivity of the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) applications and resource constraints, authentication and key management emerge as a challenging issue for WSN. In general, various approaches have been developed for the key management in WSN. This paper has come up with a new robust key pre-distribution scheme using random polynomial functions and matrix. This new proposed scheme significantly increases the storage efficiency and provides resilience to network against node capture by using random prime numbers, polynomial functions and matrix properties. The effectiveness of the scheme is demonstrated through a security analysis and comparison with the existing schemes

    Performance Engineering for Real and Complex Tall & Skinny Matrix Multiplication Kernels on GPUs

    General matrix-matrix multiplications with double-precision real and complex entries (DGEMM and ZGEMM) in vendor-supplied BLAS libraries are best optimized for square matrices but often show bad performance for tall & skinny matrices, which are much taller than wide. NVIDIA's current CUBLAS implementation delivers only a fraction of the potential performance as indicated by the roofline model in this case. We describe the challenges and key characteristics of an implementation that can achieve close to optimal performance. We further evaluate different strategies of parallelization and thread distribution, and devise a flexible, configurable mapping scheme. To ensure flexibility and allow for highly tailored implementations we use code generation combined with autotuning. For a large range of matrix sizes in the domain of interest we achieve at least 2/3 of the roofline performance and often substantially outperform state-of-the art CUBLAS results on an NVIDIA Volta GPGPU.Comment: 12 pages, 22 figures.     Cryptanalysis of LU Decomposition-based Key Pre-distribution Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks

    S. J. Choi and H. Y. Youn proposed a key pre-distribution scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks based on LU decomposition of symmetric matrix, and later many researchers did works based on this scheme. Nevertheless, we find a mathematical relationship of L and U matrixes decomposed from symmetric matrix, by using which we can calculate one matrix from another regardless of their product -- the key matrix K. This relationship would profoundly harm the secure implementation of this decomposition scheme in the real world. In this paper, we first present and prove the mathematical theorem. Next we give samples to illustrate how to break the networks by using this theorem. Finally, we state the conclusion and some directions for improving the security of the key pre-distribution scheme

    Vertical Integration in the Taiwan Aquaculture Industry

    The study aims to improve the distribution channels in the Taiwan aquaculture industry through a better vertical integration. This study is derived from a need to improve the distribution performance of agricultural-based industries in response to increasing food demands in Asia and elsewhere. Based on a four-by-eight matrix derived from both a value chain and a service profit chain, thirty different strategies are developed. This development is based on key success factors and strategies for vertical integration interviewed and cited in the literatures. The findings are identified by applying the Gray Relational Analysis (GRA). For this study, the key success factors for aquaculture wholesale markets include the communication, integration and cohesion of opinion within the wholesale market; government support; andmutual trust between members of the vertical integration scheme. The suitable vertical integration strategies are an improved safety and hygiene inspection of aquaculture products, accuracy of aquaculture product categorization, and precision in product weighing.aquaculture industry, grey relational analysis (GRA), channels integration
