Exclusive Semileptonic Rare Decays in a SUSY SO(10) GUT
In the SUSY SO(10) GUT context, we study the exclusive processes . Using the Wilson coefficients of relevant
operators including the new operators which are induced by
neutral Higgs boson (NHB) penguins, we evaluate some possible observables
associated with these processes like, the invariant mass spectrum (IMS), lepton
pair forward backward asymmetry (FBA), lepton polarization asymmetries etc. In
this model the contributions from Wilson coefficients ,
among new contributions, are dominant. Our results show that the NHB effects
are sensitive to the FBA, , and of decay, which are expected to be measured in B factories, and the
average of the normal polarization can reach several percent for
and it is 0.05 or so for , which
could be measured in the future super B factories and provide a useful
information to probe new physics and discriminate different models.Comment: 16 pages,7 figure

Quantum Chaos in the Yang-Mills-Higgs System at Finite Temperature
The quantum chaos in the finite-temperature Yang-Mills-Higgs system is
studied. The energy spectrum of a spatially homogeneous SU(2) Yang-Mills-Higgs
is calculated within thermofield dynamics. Level statistics of the spectra is
studied by plotting nearest-level spacing distribution histograms. It is found
that finite temperature effects lead to a strengthening of chaotic effects,
i.e. spectrum which has Poissonian distribution at zero temperature has
Gaussian distribution at finite-temperature.Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures, Revte
On the stability of hole crystals in layered cuprates
Recent STM measurements have revealed the existence of periodic charge
modulations at the surface of certain cuprate superconductors. Here we show
that the observed patterns are compatible with the formation of a
three-dimensional crystal of doped holes, with space correlations extending
between different Cu-O layers. This puts severe constraints on the dynamical
stability of the crystallised hole structure, resulting in a close relationship
between the periodicity of the electronic modulation and the interlayer
distance.Comment: completed reference list, fig. 3 corrected; accepted for publication

The regeneration of interior Alaska’s commercial forest lands is mandated by
Alaska’s Forest Resources and Practices Act (1979). This act requires that regeneration
be established adequate to ensure a sustained yield on forested lands from
which the timber has been harvested. Post-logging regeneration efforts now are
aimed at exposing mineral soil for the natural seeding of white spruce. Soil exposure
has been accomplished by blade scarifying with a crawler tractor which
provides large seed sites or by using a Bracke-type patch scarifier which produces
small seed sites of about 2 ft2. Arlidge (1967) reports that larger seedbeds have
greater regeneration success than smaller ones. Some researchers have found that
the regeneration of the larger plots may be too successful, requiring weeding and
precommercial thinning to bring stocking to satisfactory levels (Zasada and Grigal
1978). The Alaska Division of Forestry (DOF) has not been satisfied with the
cost or effectiveness of either of these site-preparation practices.Introduction -- Methods -- Results and Discussion: Contractor #2, Contractor #3 -- Comparisons -- Conclusions -- Resources Cite
