Irish diplomacy on the UN Security Council 2001-2: foreign policy-making in the light of day
Recent debate on Irish foreign policy has often been framed by the presumed influence of the EU Common Foreign and Security Policy and the dependence of the Irish economy on Foreign Direct Investment from the US. More broadly, small states are generally assumed to have little significant influence on world events. Empirical research on these issues is difficult in the Irish context given the often guarded nature of Irish foreign policy pronouncements. Ireland’s term on the UN Security Council in 2001 and 2002 offers an opportunity both to examine Irish foreign policy decision-making at the highest international level and to look at the capacity of a small state to have influence. The results of this study suggest that contrary to common perceptions, Irish diplomats on the Council did regularly disagree with the US on foreign-policy decisions and that the influence of EU membership was very limited—primarily because there was often no common European policy on the most controversial issues. Ireland can, however, be seen to have influenced a number of key decisions made by the Council during its most recent term as an elected member
Frustrations of fur-farmed mink
Captive animals may suffer if strongly motivated to perform activities that their housing does not allow. We investigated this experimentally for caged mink, and found that they would pay high costs to perform a range of natural behaviours, and release cortisol if their most preferred activity, swimming, was prevented.
Investigates the effect of limitations on caged mink. Popularity of fur farming; Research into the possible deprivation of mink, which result in their frustration; Details of the experiment; Impact of an access to water; Results which indicate that fur-farmed mink are still motivated to perform the same activities as their wild counterpart

Manufacturing advisory service in the East Midlands – historical evaluation
A report on the longitudinal evaluation of the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) covering the period from its establishment in 2005. The evaluation looks at net economic impact and the appropriateness of the design and delivery of the service, in addition to identifying any areas for improvement
Teaching and Professional Fellowship Report 2004/5 : Structured vivas as accommodated assessment for dyslexic students
The central goal of this report was to produce guidelines in audio and written form for dyslexic students wishing to undertake accommodated assessment, specifically the viva voce within creative degrees at UAL.
The avenues of exploration were to work with course teams and students in advancing the accessibility of the viva. This was ambitious and only one team within one school had to review their learning outcomes and participate in the process of implementing the viva.
One case study was documented and completed as the time frame and support did not permit any other candidates to apply for accommodation.
An innovative approach to teaching, learning and assessment was achieved and dissemination of material has started to take place.
Contributions to CLTAD and other conferences were made as noted and referenced. Staff development will be undertaken on the teaching certificate programme at CLTAD.
Planned developments arising from the fellowship include the compilation of an educational pack, which will be distributed internally within the University and sold externally

Comparison of Empirical Data from Two Honeynets and a Distributed Honeypot Network
In this paper we present empirical results and speculative analysis based on observations collected over a two month period from studies with two high interaction honeynets, deployed in a corporate and an SME (small to medium enterprise) environment, and a distributed honeypots deployment. All three networks contain a mixture of Windows and Linux hosts. We detail the architecture of the deployment and results of comparing the observations from the three environments. We analyze in detail the times between attacks on different hosts, operating systems, networks or geographical location. Even though results from honeynet deployments are reported often in the literature, this paper provides novel results analyzing traffic from three different types of networks and some initial exploratory models. This research aims to contribute to endeavours in the wider security research community to build methods, grounded on strong empirical work, for assessment of the robustness of computer-based systems in hostile environments
ISOMORFISMA RUANG VEKTOR ATAS SUATU LAPANGAN\ud
Vector space defined as the set with operations that meet certain axiom. Suppose given a set and \ud
a field . Element of called vectors and elements of is called a scalar while the "" and "" \ud
respectively denote the addition operation of two vectors and multiplication operations between a \ud
vector and scalar. \ud
This thesis discusses isomorphism of vector spaces over a field. If given {[ ]| } and {[ ]| } for and \ud
is the set matrix with rows and columns , to find out isomorphic to . To determine a vector space \ud
isomorphism of the field is done by showing that the mapping is a mapping. Having proved a \ud
mapping , the next show that is bijection mapping and homomorphism. \ud
The discussion results can be concluded that the vector space over field homomorphism is a \ud
mapping which preserves the vector operations in space. While the vector space isomorphism is \ud
a special form of vector space homomorphism, ie a mapping which also preserves the vector \ud
operations in space and bijection mapping. \ud
Vector space which is the set of all matrices of size isomorphic with the vector space of which is also the set of all matrices of size matrix with elements of the field by the mapping for the matrix \ud
elements of the vector space while the and are respectively and matrices over . So that for every \ud
matrix in a vector space can be determined by a single matrix in the vector space of and vice \ud
versa so that the system are twins who can differ only by name and not by nature
